  1. We visited Qaqortoq with Celebrity in 2022. For us, multiple tenders were in motion but I think only one was docked in town at a time. So while one was unloading/loading at the pier, another would be on the way to/from and another would be unloading/loading at the ship. This process was kept up all day. I can't speak to how long the wait was on the ship to go ashore. We had an excursion to Viking ruins booked through the ship which had a really early start time and our group was put on the first tender over. We had an iceberg tour later in the day but we didn't want to risk missing it by waiting for tenders so once on shore, we stayed on shore until we were done with everything. There was a long line waiting to get back to the ship but it wasn't a terrible wait. We didn't wait until the last tenders to go back, though, so the wait could have been longer for those who did. Is your cruise on the Jewel of the Seas? We were on the Celebrity Summit and I think the ships are about the same size but Jewel might hold a few more passengers.
  2. My friend and I did the back to back 5 night and 2 night itinerary I see listed above for Fantasy Cruises. So much fun! Fantasy was also a Chandris line but would phased out to focus on Celebrity. I looked at some of the memorabilia from that trip recently and the boarding pass already listed Celebrity Cruises. It’s cool to see this snapshot of time.
  3. Some cruise lines have reviews on their shore excursions. I've seen this on Princess and Carnival. Celebrity does not.
  4. We were able to get unopened cans at the coffee shop on the Legend last month. We had Bottomless Bubbles.
  5. This is anecdotal but on our cruises there was more of a variety of ages on our 7 night sailings than on our longer ones (11 & 12 nights) which skewed older. The nightlife was also livelier on the 7 night sailings but the people participating weren't just the younger people. Maybe on longer cruises people feel they have more time to do things so they don't always stay up as late? Just from personal experience, we're more likely to stay for a band's every set on a 7 night cruise than we are on a 14 night one.
  6. You will get a wrist band when you arrive. The wrist band will lock/unlock your locker. It is possible that your package may include a mud mask and one drink. You swim/walk up to the mask station and the bar to get these and they will tap the wrist band. If you wish, you can purchase additional items (different types of masks or drinks) using the wrist band. The Blue Lagoon has a café and several restaurants. We ate at the Lava Restaurant, which overlooked the lagoon. I agree that the hair conditioner is a must before and after going in the water.
  7. Yes, you can check them out already. We did this cruise last year on the Emerald and we're doing it again this year on Enchanted. If you log onto Princess's site, go to My Account and then Manage this Booking for your cruise. Click on Excursions at the top. You can also book them through the app.
  8. We booked a Princess Canada/New England cruise for this fall right before this got announced. I did pause for a minute and think "should I switch the week?" but I think we'll be keeping our original reservation. My husband isn't as into this and I didn't really want to go over Labor Day. I'm still kind of tempted and definitely would not have been upset to find out this was scheduled for our week.
  9. I need to get some of these and add them to our travel bag. They would have been great to have on several excursions, most recently in Costa Rica.
  10. Looks amazing! This is an itinerary we'd love to do sometime. Thanks for sharing your photos!
  11. We’d use this if it were available. That would be fun.
  12. I can't speak for that particular tour but we were recently in Ocho Rios and took an excursion through Carnival. The port and excursions felt safe. There was a Royal ship docked in Falmouth that day and buses from our ship and theirs were at some of the same places. We did a sightseeing tour with lunch but others we got to know on our ship rode ATV's and horses, and went to the falls and the beaches. Everyone we spoke with had a good time and we didn't hear of any issues.
  13. I can only speak for the non-alcoholic drinks. Bottomless Bubbles was worth it for us. It's $3.25 per soda onboard (including the 18% gratuity). In addition to soda, Bottomless Bubbles also included the cans of Bubly. I calculated what we spent on specialty coffees, milkshakes, and other drinks onboard and from that I can see that we would not get our money's worth from Cheers. We will definitely get Bottomless Bubbles again.
  14. Pretty much this. I'm a pretty chill person and none of this spoiled any of my cruises but these were all things that I noticed way more than however people were dressing: People with bare feet up on couches and chairs in places like Cellar Masters and the Sky Lounge. That's gross. This isn't their living room. People facetiming or talking on speaker phone at full volume in places like Cafe al Bacio. Bonus points if there are musicians performing at the same time. Who wouldn't want to hear a soundtrack of violin strings played along to Aunt Bertha's surgery details? Have some consideration for people around you and mind the volume level or go somewhere private. The lady who took one of the full display bowls of breadsticks off of the buffet and brought it to the theater to eat. I'd make a joke and say at least it wasn't a plastic lobster. She got caught trying to do this again and was told those were display only. People who brought plates of buffet food with them to the theater during Beyond the Podium talks, ate the food during the talks (so everyone else had to smell it and hear cutlery) and left the dirty dishes behind. Again, this isn't their living room. The dude getting all bent out of shape in Sushi on Five because he was in a suite and wanted to have a seat right away. I've been in a suite but mine did not come with the perk which has you make an ass of yourself. (Spoiler alert: he did not get seated before the people in front of him who actually had reservations) The lady who was so drunk on the first night that she was trying to exit the ladies' room by somehow climbing through the mirror. I get maybe she thought it was a door but wouldn't she try to at least avoid the other lady climbing in towards her? So yeah, a quiet person minding their own business but wearing shorts to dinner wouldn't even rate a zero on my give-a-care-o-meter.
  15. Yes, that would be the exception! It's the midway ding and you still have a segment to go!
  16. Yes, that final ding when they scan you off for the last time... That's the worst to me.
  17. A non-alcoholic package priced between Bottomless Bubbles and Cheers would be a change I'd like to see. Yeah, that makes no sense and sounds more like they just don't want to offer one. We don't drink alcohol so we were debating between getting Cheers (paying upfront for all drinks) or getting Bottomless Bubbles and then just paying for individual drinks for our 14 night cruise. We wound up doing the second. I like numbers so when we got back, I did a spreadsheet breaking down all our onboard spending into categories. We spent $509.69 at the coffee shop, MDR, and other bars. That total includes souvenir drinks at HMC, desserts at the coffee shop, and four other souvenir drinks onboard, none of which would have been included in Cheers. That plus the cost of Bottomless Bubbles for the two of us was still less than half if we would have bought Cheers for us both. So, no, there's no way a non-alcoholic package should be more expensive than Cheers. Especially since with Cheers, you can drink all the non-alcoholic drinks you want and then still have 15 alcoholic ones per day.
  18. On our recent stop with Carnival it started at 11:00 am.
  19. Yes, that's correct. My instructions would be if you book directly with Celebrity - either online or on the ship at the Future Cruise desk.
  20. When you are in your reservation (in Manage Reservation), click on the Add-Ons section. This is where you will find the prepaid gratuities and cruise care travel protection.
  21. The Summit has a pool in the solarium that's great to swim in if it's too cold outside. We did the Polar Plunge on the Summit on the Greenland cruise in 2022. They tested the water temperature in both outdoor pools to ensure we used the colder one and then added some ice cubes for good measure. It was a lot of fun!
  22. No. Being aware of your surroundings is good advice, traveling or not. Unsurprisingly, this same advice can be found on other countries' travel warnings for the US.
  23. I'm just off the Legend and the fridge kept our sodas and water really cold.
  24. We did a sea/land trip with Celebrity in late May/early June, 2022. The cruise was on the Millennium 7 nights northbound Vancouver to Seward. The ports were Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Juneau, Skagway and cruising the Hubbard Glacier. Then we did their 6 night Homer Discovery and Heartland Wildlife land tour. We were fortunate to have great weather and the cruise was fantastic. We were able to get very close to the Hubbard Glacier and spend good time there. The land portion was extremely well organized and we had a great driver and guide. Their company works with multiple cruise lines and we saw their buses along the way with passengers from NCL and Royal. The Carnival Splendor was in port with us when we were in Ketchikan, along with the Celebrity Solstice. I take way too many photos of cruise ships!
  25. We just got off of the Legend yesterday from a 14 night cruise. We paid the same to park in Baltimore for the 14 days as we do in Bayonne for 7 days - $210. The ship is right next to the lot. You just drive in, drop off your bags (if you want), park the car, and then go into the terminal. It is so nice and easy. People will be leaving from the previous cruise so you shouldn't have any issues finding a spot.
