  1. I enjoyed the Xmas cruise. The plumbing problems did not spoil it for me and I was on fixed dining (great company) so did not have the problems associated with "Freedom".
  2. You have to select "Choose your own cabin" or it goes to the default of letting P&O choose it. Some people miss this step.
  3. I never use the launderettes now. On long cruises I use the laundry service for large items, wash the smalls and dry in bathroom or on balcony. For shorter cruises, just take enough clothes!
  4. Norovirus seems to be more of a problem now and that can be pretty nasty too.
  5. Only a couple of steps up into train. Sit on left for best views as train does not turn round.
  6. If you spend all your generous obc in the shops, presumably P&O are subsidising the franchisees (Hardings, etc)?
  7. My first ever cruise was on Celebrity Constellation. Small by today's standards but at the time I thought she was huge!
  8. App not so necessary on Ventura as she is small compared to the two giants!
  9. Used to love the 4 for a penny sweets, Fruit Salad, Blackjacks, etc. Loose sweets came in paper bags and in hot weather they would all fuse together and stick to the bag. Showing my age but happy times!
  10. Yes, it is easy to change from first to second sitting but not the other way round as first seems to be busier usually.
  11. Drink prices have increased and, unfortunately, the cocktails I like are now over £6.95 so will continue to pay as I go!
  12. Yes, block booking same table, same time every night is basically same as fixed dining!
  13. P&O advertises a 7 night fly cruise to Canaries for £499? Decent B&B round here would cost more!
  14. I always book select, mainly for the fixed dining (no point on Iona) but also to choose cabin.
  15. Must be a new rule as nobody wearing masks in Spain in December.
  16. Good deal. What hotel? Have just booked cruise package at Hol Inn Eastleigh for 19 night cruise in May at £314 on my own. (My usual Holiday Inn Southampton fully booked for a conference.)
  17. Not necessarily. With select booking you have the option to choose cabin or let P&O choose it for you.
  18. Iona has water filling stations so if you take some water bottles and, say, some fruit squash you can make your own soft drinks.
  19. Exactly, with fixed dining I know what time I am going to be eating and can plan my evening.
  20. You can always move tables if necessary but I have only had to do that on a handful of times in over 70 cruises (I must be lucky!).
  21. He won Dancing on Ice too. Most of the Limelight acts are ex TV talent shows!
  22. Agree absolutely. Have dodgy knees and hate low seating!
