  1. If in fact the C2 cabins have access to that area, why on earth would anybody reserve a C1 cabin when somebody else could be lounging in the area where your cabana ends until you hit the side of the ship?
  2. There would not be enough space for all of those cabins to have access to that area. 146 cabins to have access to those strips of space on both sides of the ship would not be enough space. It is more than likely just for those C1 cabins that are adjacent. And it looks like there are gates at the top and bottom of the sections, so you are possibly even only allowed in your section whether it be starboard or aft, but that is just an assumption.
  3. I assumed that. We'll have it on our Enchanted cruise in 2024 since we paid 60 for the plus.
  4. The C2 cabins are the sections forward (9106-9236) and aft (9324-9358). The middle section I was referring to are C1 cabins (9238-9320). The C1 is the Cabana deck, which has the walkway between the edge of the ship and where your cabana ends. There is no walkway with the C2 cabins.
  5. I assumed the fitness classes and overblown desserts would not be included and the 15.00 limit would be, but wasn't convinced one way or another about the juice bar, which I don't even know where it's located on the Majestic. Am looking forward to the noodle bar though.
  6. The only people that could possibly walk by are the those in the 16 other cabins in the cabana section. It's not like the entire ship could be walking by. It's similar to the Havana area on the 3 Vista Class ships on Carnival, which has 13 other cabanas in your section. There will be gates at both ends of your section and only certain medallions will open them.
  7. Check out the four Edge Class ships on Celebrity. Edge, Apex, Beyond, Ascent. They raise the bar compared to the rest of the fleet and offer more things to do.
  8. It doesn't make much sense for teetotalers to purchase the package at all. But on the other hand, it's fairly easy to hit the numbers if you have 2 coffees, 2 bottled waters, 2 sodas and 2 glasses of wine combined with wifi and tips.
  9. I was asking since you said the juice bar was included. We're going to Alaska in 9 days for two weeks and paid 40, so I don't know if the juice bar will be included or not.
  10. I was asking startedwithamouse, but thanks for your input.
  11. Was your old Plus pricing 40 or 50?
  12. We book when bookings open or sometimes if we're going to be cruising within 2 months, we'll wait until we get on board for the lower deposit and extra OBC. This is what we'll be doing for the fall 2024 and winter 2025 sailings on the Sun. We'll also purchase FCC for future bookings on the Star for fall 2025 and winter 2026. We will then transfer the booking to a TA to get a discount or additional OBC.
  13. A YIN is an inside cabin. Unfortunately since our stay there 5 years ago things have changed and I am relegated to a scooter. Not all of the ships in the MSC fleet have inside handicapped cabins in the YC. The fact that the World ships don't have them was disappointing. Because of the popularity of them and the value versus the Haven on NCL, the prices have rose substantially over the past 5 years. Since MSC has so many international people sailing on them, it is European skewed. No comedy shows, no piano bar, lots of fish on the menu, standoffish employees. It's not like the mainstream cruises based in the US. Many like it that way, but it can be off putting. We are going to give them a chance in a Fantastica cabin on the Meraviglia in July and that will determine any future sailings on them. In 2023 we have 86 days at sea and in 2024, it's 66 days, so we cruise fairly often. The July cruise will determine whether MSC is in the loop or not for future sailings.
  14. Since you have never actually cruised on one of the Excel Class ships your opinion is regurgitating second hand information. It's similar to the Loyal Royals from RCI that bad mouth Carnival all of the time yet have never sailed on Carnival. We will have to disagree regarding whether the Excel Class is game changing or not. I have cruisee on every class of Carnival ship since the original Jubilee in 1986. Have cruised over 50 times on 8 different lines, so I know what's out there for the most part. Some lines are too expensive for us and some like Virgin intrigue us.
  15. There is nothing on Carnival that's comparable. We did the Seaside YC 5 years ago in a YIN cabin. Nice trip but very European skewed. Enjoy.
  16. It all depends on where you live as to the perspective you have. We are in southern NJ and have a 7 day on the Meraviglia in July out of Brooklyn and a 10 day on the Venezia out of Manhattan next May. Both times we have to drive and pay tolls and 45 per day for parking. A car service RT would be substantially higher. So for us, Bayonne is easier.
  17. This is some good excitement on a hump day.🐫🐪
  18. 15 minute time limit. Anything longer and a moderator would need to get rid of it.
  19. There were 6 gift cards between the two of those establishments in the shopping cart a little while ago.
  20. Punk IPA....very appropriate drink for a handful of CC posters. 😄
  21. RCI of course sails out of Bayonne as well as Celebrity. The ease of getting to Bayonne as well as the cheaper parking could possibly be why it's not as complicated as embarking from Manhattan or Brooklyn. But that would still leave the question as to why NCL has done better out of NYC than Carnival has. It'll be interesting to see how the MSC Meraviglia does out of Brooklyn a year from now after the initial excitement goes away.
  22. You also double dipped and paid for bottled water for the cabin even though you can get all the bottled water you want for your cabin via Cheers.
