  1. Concierge lunch (for concierge class, B2B and zenith I believe) or Sushi on five (have to pay). For everyone else it’s buffet or a burger at the mast grill.
  2. You could take a travel kettle on board? Milk could be stored in the fridge in the cabin (get some each day from the buffet in a paper cup).
  3. On our last cruise, all of our excursion tickets were in an envelope in our cabin when we boarded. However, on the cruise before, the tickets arrived the day before each excursion. If you have a celebrity shore excursion booked, you don’t need a separate tender ticket. You will be advised where to meet on the ship for the excursion, and then escorted off. If you’re making your own arrangements, you need to head for a ticket when you’re ready to leave and then wait until your number is called. Depending on the numbers leaving the ship, they sometimes announce that tickets are no longer required so just to proceed to the deck to leave.
  4. No, no way of finding out. We were successful recently and moved up to Aqua Class BUT ended up under a treadmill in the gym 🙄 And we were really far forward. It took 5 minutes to walk to Blu (leisurely pace I’ll admit). I bid so that we could enjoy Blu, but to be honest didn’t like the cabin location at all. It put me off doing it again to be honest. If you don’t mind cabin location it can be a cheap way of enjoying a higher graded cabin. And you may be lucky with the new cabin location!
  5. No, BUT, we had the 1st boarding time for a recent departure from LA. Boarding was delayed and didn’t start until an hour after it was supposed to. Celebrity staff said there was a coastguard drill being performed on the ship. There were 100s of passengers waiting to board. At 12:30, retreat guests were allowed to board. Following that they called Aqua class and Elite and Elite+ guests. So, if you’re unfortunate to experience a delay in boarding, you may get on before others if in Aqua Class.
  6. I’ve cruised celebrity in both Europe and USA. Definitely dressier in Europe, and not just on chic nights. I saw jeans and t-shirts in Blu for dinner whilst on a US cruise, never saw this in Europe. Of course jeans and a t-shirt fall within the dress code, and the people wearing them didn’t stick out, so the moral of the story is - wear what you want within the rules!
  7. Just caught up with your posts @Ken the cruiser. Love all the photos and updates on daily activities. You’ve put me in the mood for a trans ocean crossing now!! 😊
  8. For info, the Crowne Plaza offers a shuttle to and from the cruise terminal for pre and post cruise passengers. We used the pre cruise shuttle a few weeks ago (sorry can’t remember the price!) which was really efficient. Didn’t use the post-cruise one, so can’t comment on it, but mentioning it here in case it’s of any use for anyone. I’m sure if you contact them they can provide details.
  9. Yikes! We’re Aqua so got to board after Suites and Zenith. My husband was waiting for someone to push him in a wheelchair, but he gave up and walked. Last summer we boarded in Rome (also Celebrity). We arrived at the terminal at 11am and walked straight through check in and on to the ship. We were at our room by 11:15. I was expecting the same today! Think we got to our room about 12:10. Anyway, we’re here now and have a drink in hand. Cheers!!
  10. 1 of the questions is “are you more than x weeks pregnant” so that should bring a smile to their faces 😂
  11. We left San Diego a few hours ago on our way to San Pedro. Saw the Solstice and waved 😄
  12. We did ours last night. Only 4 questions to answer so shouldn’t take long at the port.
  13. Is his real name John? Wondering as very common in the west of Scotland to be named John on your birth certificate, but to be called Iain all your life!
  14. Cheers from Glasgow Airport! We’re starting our journey to LA (boarding the Solstice on 22nd April and visiting San Diego beforehand). Hoping for a smoother trip. Glad you got there in the end. 😊
  15. I did this just a few weeks ago and can confirm what the other replies have said - OBC refunds were immediate. I was able to use the OBC within minutes for another reservation.
  16. Following along - we join you on 22nd but flying out on 15th for a week in San Diego pre-cruise 😊
  17. There are different categories of Uber cars. The “black” Ubers can pick up at the terminal buildings. For all other types, you have to go to a separate area (either by walking or shuttle bus) to pick up your car. See here for more details: https://www.flylax.com/lax-it There is a premium for the black service (see below)
