  1. We are doing the same journey but in reverse- LAX to San Diego before our cruise, then San Diego back to LA to board ship. We have booked the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to take us from LA Union Station to SD. There is construction work during the week which is due to end by April, but the trains are running fully at weekends. Check Amtrak website for updates. You will need to get a taxi from the cruise terminal to the train station as public transport is non-existent I believe. From the airport we are planning to take the Flyaway bus from the terminal to the train station ($9.75 each) LAX Official Website | Traffic and Ground Transportation - FlyAway Bus Union Station For your trip, you could take the bus back to the airport, from Union Station, and book a hotel which offers a shuttle to/from the terminal. Hope this helps!

  3. Thanks. I checked though and I’m not eligible 🥲
  4. Thanks - saw that. Following on Twitter now and got a calendar entry nearer the time to check.
  5. Again, absolutely no problem now to pay by card for everything.
  6. The April 22nd itinerary has just been changed. Sea day instead of Monterey, but the previous sea day now Santa Barbara.
  7. As others have said, card payments are now encouraged in most places in the UK. The only exception is some taxis - if you pick up one from the street or a rank, double check they take card payments before you get in. I’ve had a couple of drivers tell me recently they only accept cash. But the majority take cards. Uber is also widely available.
  8. I want to know who’s going to play you in the movie @Georgia_Peaches?? 😁 Rooting for you over here in Scotland!
  9. My husband did this on Connie last year. It was at 9pm one evening. We are from Scotland and have been to a fair few distilleries in our time. The barman’s knowledge was very very limited. He read from some cards and a lot of it just wasn’t true (eg they only make whisky in the summer in Scotland because of the weather!! Eh??) He then read from the bottle. The whisky was good but the “experience” wasn’t. We gave feedback the next day and received a full apology, refund, and 2 tickets to a wine tasting on the next sea day. An explanation was given that the “expert” wasn’t available and another staff member stepped in. In my opinion, it’s not worth it. Just go the bar, order some whisky yourself, and save up for a trip to Scotland.
  10. Before you come to Scotland, I should point out there’s no whiskey here, only whisky! We’re a bit precious about it 😊 You’ll offend some locals if you confuse the 2! Whisky from other countries has an “e” but never the proper stuff from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 PS I can’t stand it myself and don’t understand why folk drink it!
  11. Looking forward to your review - we sail on Solstice next month. Also staying at the Crowne Plaza San Pedro the night before - any tips here would be welcome. 😊
  12. Go to the celebrity website, manage trip, manage reservation. “Plan my cruise” should show at the end of your cruise description. From there, choose your shore excursion, and at the checkout stage you should have an option to use your OBC to pay. See screenshot below.
  13. Thanks - I’m going to consider this. We’ve already booked Amtrak tickets, and I’m not sure if they’re refundable, but if they are this is definitely an option.
  14. Thanks - we booked business class just to be sure of a seat. I didn’t know about the lounge and golf cart - that’s a bonus.
  15. Thank you so much for this! Yes we’re using Amtrak. I’ll check out later trains - good tip. The steps for the bus should be fine and I’ll check out the station map. Thanks again 😊
  16. We’re spending a few days in San Diego before our cruise departs. Our international flight arrives on a Saturday at LAX Terminal B at 3pm. We have a train booked at 6:10pm from LA Union Station. Is 3 hours enough to collect luggage, clear the airport and take the flyaway bus to the train station? My husband uses a walking stick, and will be assisted at the airport (which usually speeds things up a bit), but I’m worried about the length of time it will take to travel to the station. Has anyone done this journey? Can you give any advice? Thanks in advance.
  17. Is this with immediate effect? Sailing in April with planned stop in Monterey 😳
  18. Hi - on my last cruise we had the same drinks/Wi-Fi/tips package. Both myself and husband had access to wifi via a device each. Sorry can’t answer the elite question for you.
  19. I’m looking forward to this! We’re contemplating South America for March 24. If anyone has done this cruise in March before, can you let me know what to expect weather wise? Will it be jackets, hats and gloves at the Cape? And shorts and T-shirts in Buenos Aries?
  20. Hi - as had been said, no reservation needed and you will always be seated with the same waiter at every meal. This means they get to know your preferences and makes for a much more personal service. We love Blu! Hope you enjoy it too!!
  21. Hi - we’ve just disembarked from Constellation and were in Aquaclass. Ate in Blu every night. The waiter asked on the first night if we had any dietary requirements. I told him I was vegetarian, so every night I got the regular Blu menu (with plenty of vegetarian choices) and the vegetarian menu from MDR. I could mix and match e.g. starter from one menu, main course from another. Hope that helps!
