  1. If you try to do it yourself, yes, you run the risk of being put at bottom of waitlist. It's important you don't make any changes and just go to Shore Exchange Desk as soon as you board (and they're open) and have them do it. They can (and will) cancel your current booming and rebook using your OBC - even if the tours are sold out and waitlisted. All they're doing is changing your payment method, but it's not something you can do you're urself. Nor can Guest Services - it has to be the Shore Excursions Desk.
  2. That's pretty much what the "monitor" told us one day - they have a strict policy on watching the supplies to ensure all the pencils make it back to them, but feel free to take as many of the papers as you like. 🙄🧐 There's one in every group and now we know who it is!! 🥴 lol
  3. Welcome to cruising and to Cruise Critic!! When you remove half your clothes from your suitcase, put in your patience and flexibility; they go a long way toward having a great experience. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  4. Agree. You can book now, though, to secure you spot then once on board make the mad dash to Shore Excursions to have them moved from CC to OBC.
  5. Yes they are - go Rangers!! Ok, now that I have that out of my system, you may have to watch on ypur tablet or computer. Go Rangers!!
  6. You'll have a great time, no matter. Might want to consider packing a folding tote for ice, jic.
  7. Do yourself a favor and just book w/anyone who answers before you lose your casino deal. I've had to do that since my PCC does not respond to me.
  8. I have 3 referrals that registered and get updates from HAL on the status. 1 sailed and I got a credit - it randomly showed up on one of my bookings. She asked what the $50 was, so I feel like she got hers. 1 booked but HAL said we weren't eligible because we were on the same booking - since it has to be their first booking, that one was wasted. 1 has not booked anything yet, so we'll see what happens with that one.
  9. So glad we went to GB this past May, looks like HAL presence is now very limited. We purposely select itineraries that include GB, but seems that will change, ugh.
  10. We were in Venezia B2B Sept 16-29 and most of those kinks had indeed been worked out, we mostly enjoyed the ship and were definitely glad we were not part of the "kinks out" party.
  11. You'd think, but there were quite a few kinks on Venezia coming over from Costa.
  12. Not quite new - been sailing under Costa, now transferring to Carnival. There will, of course, be many changes, but not a new ship.
  13. Interesting collection of days today; never thought about launching cookbooks needing a day, but ok - I enjoy browsing cookbooks. What I save today I'll probably spend tomorrow as I prepare for our trip. Farmers, young and old, are very important. Meal sounds good, pass on drink, would like the wine. We were in Costa Maya and Majahual once several years ago as it was struggling to recover from a hurricane that had wiped out everything in Majahual (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effects_of_Hurricane_Dean_in_Mexico). Our excursion was a trip through the countryside, visit to the ancient ruins and a family's home in Majahual. The home consisted of a couple dirt floor huts - different rooms were in their own huts, which is more efficient for maintaining temperature (cooking doesn't heat the entire house, just 1 hut) and an attempt to minimize loss (maybe 1 hut gets destroyed or damaged by a storm but the others don't, for example). The family cooked for us and let us tour their huts. The food was incredible!! I only went in 1 hut (living room) as I was very uncomfortable. It was heart-wrenching to see how little they had and how much repair was needed for the area. I am glad to see the pictures of a thriving Costa Maya and would be interested in seeing what Majahual looks like; I probably won't go back and don’t have pictures from my trip. The days in history are important, even if Mr. Columbus needed better radar, lol. 63° headed to 84°, so glad I no longer see 90s on the forecast; now if we could just have some rain. Chiro worked on neck and shoulder a lot, neck feels better but shoulder does not. No matter what she does, left foot is still numb so I may need to see someone else. We leave in less than 2 weeks (yikes) and at that point it will be more than a month that it has been numb. She keeps telling me to reduce stress - hard to do when I keep reading about how bad pickpockets are in Rome; it sure is clouding my excitement for spending 3 days there before the cruise. DH thinks he's immune from pickpockets, so that really impacts the stress.🫣 Knowing we have to carry passports all the time and need them to fly back post-cruise, I wish he'd adjust his attitude. Ugh... Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  14. Have not received an email re GB being pulled, but notice Westerdam May 12-19 is not on the schedule you sent, so it looks like I will not be going, either. I see there are still a couple HAL ships listed, so HAL is there very limited. I understand if park rangers are adjusting the schedule, but we have read for a long time, that HAL is given priority in GB...
  15. We waited for several sailings before we cruised on Venezia - kinda similar situation as the Firenze rebranding. During that time, there were a lot of kinks worked out and we didn't experience some of the things earlier pax did. So, for me, waiting a bit was the right thing. Whatever you decide, enjoy your cruise! And post lots of pictures!!
  16. 2 weeks ago on Venezia it was $130, 3.5 hours. Cannot say for the MG. It was very interesting - enjoy! Be sure to sign up early.
  17. @Nickelpenny hope you had a great birthday 🎂 yesterday! @SusieKIslandGirl hope you have great birthday 🎂 next week (I just know I will miss it, so hope you don't mind the early wishes) @ger_77 MRI confirmed surgery is necessary for shoulder but have to resolve the frozen shoulder first, so that's what I'm working on. I hope your images identify your issues and they're not serious. Thank you @Cruising-along and @ottahand7 for the well wishes.
  18. Thank you - I thought maybe thete was a magic trick for getting a duplicate 🤭 Hope you continue to have a great trip. I love that you're leaving a bit of Jose along the way in places that speak to your heart.
  19. Correct - non-refundable OBC is used first, then refundable. You can see that on the TV, App and printed statement at the very bottom - breaks out non-refundable and refundable.
  20. When you say you have a duplicate passport, can you clarify what you mean by that? Do you have a picture of it or....?
