Although the HAL HIA policy says the credits are to be used per excursion, meaning if you had one under $100, you would lose the remaining amount, several of us have reported being able to use the full amount as @DaveOKC mentioned.
It will show you how much you're using and how much you would owe before you commit.
I'm on that Nov 26 cruise; booked well before the recent $1 deposit promo.
Hoping only mild travel since American Thanksgiving doesn't mean anything once we're in the sky. Should be better leaving from an international terminal instead of domestic terminal. Maybe wishful thinking...
Well I think it would be appropriate to use Motel 6, that way you can channel your inner Tom Bodett cuz you know he'll leave the light on for you!!
Too easy...lol
@carnival03 yes the 18% will automatically be added when receive the service. Additional gratuities are not expected, but there is a line for it on the receipt so be sure to put $0 if you don't want to pay above 18%. I give extra if the person was really good and don't if they did the usual fine job.
Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
Hey @afdds as @RuthC said, no need for you to babysit your booking for a check-in time or boarding group - both are automatic and will be at the top of your boarding pass in the Navigator App.
Also, once you are on board, you're welcome to go drop off your carry-on bags in your cabin whether it's ready or not. You are then free to go explore the ship and eat lunch. No need to camp out anywhere waiting for your cabin, like they do on some other cruise lines.
Agree with @SusieKIslandGirlthat crew may not be available at muster stations to scan cards until later. If you go as soon as you drop your bag, there may not be anyone there to scan your card.
We pick up keys from our "mailbox," drop our bags, turn tv on to muster, go eat lunch, then go to muster station to get card scanned.
Good callout - we do that, too. Of course, they already know we're on B2B, but unless we ask, we don't know when they're getting off. And it certainly could be before us.
Congrats on your selection and welcome to HAL!
We hope to read a Live review from you next July. No such thing as too much Alaska!
Encourage you to browse these threads between now and next summer; there's a lot of experience w/good tips that I think will help make a great cruise even better. I pick up something new before every cruise.
Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
Here's a link to the Live review from Eurodam I did a couple months ago. Should give you a glimpse into the ports and awesome Glacier Bay:
@Banditswife called it out - Grand Dutch Cafe for hot chocolate and yummy coffees.
Aligned w/everyone saying ask for what you want (as well as suggestions) from any bar, including GDC & Explirations - you should come away with a drink.
Strawberry Mojito and Mango Mojito were bartender recommendations by a bartender on Nieuw Statendam - they were really good, especially the strawberry; just ask for a virgin.
Have fun experimenting. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
