  1. Be aware that these contract rental agents may not be open on weekends. You can use the listings on Google Maps to see the agents hours. It may be more practical to take a transfer to SeaTac and rent from the large corporation rental center. That will also likely reduce your rate. Be aware that parking in Seattle core is VERY expensive
  2. Im in 4005 first night was noise but I slept like a log last night and wasn't bothered by the stormy sea
  3. Agree with CDN. Currently on the ship and those bangs are the bow hitting with the rough sea, just so. Best observed on 7/8 on bow, in Explorers Lounge. Folks were oohing this morning, like fireworks show
  4. try to get your seat on the left side of the carriage
  5. I think you might be able to maximize your logistics by leaving your luggage at Held Luggage at the train station. You then have more time to enjoy your visit to the Museum, perhaps a late lunch/ early dinner and then go to your overnight at the hotel. yes you may need to pay a fee for the luggage but you will likely save quite a bit of time and be more efficient and probably in the end spend less on your train travel
  6. I heard this on the radio (NPR) Saturday morning and wondered the same thing. I would only visit Venice as a embark / debarkation place, spending quality time on the ground, on my own. Same with Rome
  7. I would allow 2 hours, for sure
  8. and chocolate milkshakes are for dipping fries into
  9. I agree that of the two hotels, the Med is closer to places you are more likely to want to visit in the evening such as MoPop museum and Seattle Center. Plus there is a Dicks Drive-in right across the way, an iconic Seattle cheap burger joint (LOL)
  10. No. There is a ferry to Vancouver Island from Anacortes which is somewhat close to Bellingham. The Alaska Marine Highway leaves from Bellingham but does not stop in Vancouver or on Vancouver island
  11. dont forget to factor in the cost of meals while in transit on your day.
  12. pay attention to the logistics and timing of getting from SEA to your local transportation and then onward. Sometimes the higher airfare cost is worth it when weighed against the extra time spent on a bus or train and the challenge of getting to those connections. How long of a travel day do you wish to endure. You dont mention when you return to (port) but if it is Vancouver again then you will have to repeat the journey. Dont forget to look into the cost of a secondary flight from SEA to Vancouver and see if it pencils out to advantage,
  13. probably the easiest thing to do is call customer service for the airline you are ticketed on. Lounge rules have changed or are going to change widely with many airlines. Some you can buy a day pass for. Having status and flying first class on the domestic leg still does not get you access on some airlines. Having the right credit card ( often AmEx, ) can. review this article and note the paragraph at the end which cuts to the chase. Be aware that Alaska recently changed their policies ( status and first class ) as has Delta. 14. and there is always tea in wintergarden, sandwiches and sweets. snacks from your room refrigerator, Room service when you get back. That is my plan
  15. Quick Shuttle at quickcoach dot com
  16. Oh indeed, I forgot about Oakland. That would make so a simple transfer as well
  17. consider using San Jose or even Sacramento. 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive from Sac might bring more peace of mind
  18. I agree. If you are flying out of SFO to go home, it would be more practical to take the train or Uber/Lyft to the airport and go down to arrivals and go to the rental there, You may need to jump on a shuttle to the rental car center, I cannot remember how SFO is configured. That way your return is to the same place and you do not face the penalty / need to return it to a downtown location. Disembark early without your luggage, go to the airport and drive back to pick up your family etc.
  19. they will add more times into the schedule. Check back in a few days or register once on board
  20. Have you asked Viking? might it be practical to take a short, one way flight to Anchorage to get more travel options? flights leave almost hourly and are about$100
  21. The Crown Plaza offices are not open on Sunday. You could spend the night there and turn the car in on Saturday. Otherwise, the Avis in LB is open on Sunday. You would then need to car service back to the pier
  22. On the included trips they do. You may have to wait and request the trip when you board. On the elective $ trips no. You can usually find those trips with a private vendor via the usual guide finding sites.
  23. Be clear about the difference between recommend vaccines and requirements. Some governments require certain vaccines when entering or coming from certain countries. You will get a document as proof. . You don't have to take recommend vaccines . Yellow Fever is a good example of a vaccine a government may require for entry. This can sometimes be specific to a region within a country and not the whole country. Rules can change year to year based on disease outbreaks, etc. so what someone did 10 years ago might not pertain to now You can find the best advice by visiting a travel clinic at most major pharmacies. They will evaluate your trip and make recommendations. This advice can extend to protection and treatment of travel diarrhea, altitude management etc.
  24. Critically Cruising, the information you linked to is over a year old. The Brazilian consulate in DC has current information and the above posted link to the on line portal for applications
  25. I would simply get a one way air ticket. Likely will arrive at Landon City, just opposite Greenwich. Simple connection on Dockland Light Rail to The City
