  1. As I've already said: I applied a second one on my October cruise. So it's not 120 days for Europe guests. I'm not in UK though. I don't think anyone seen T&C for anything but US
  2. Your driver's license may be worth nothing as far as ID outside of your own country.
  3. Never ever even thought about my driver's licence since there is absolutely no requirement to even have one ANYWHERE unless renting a car!
  4. I'm guessing these T&C are from US site. Can't find any for Europe. But, as I said, I applied a second one to a sail-away inside existing booking. One that sails less in than 4 months (Oct 13), but (of course) has not reached final payment day (30 days before departure in my case). Leaving for Iceland/Norway this weekend and will buy certificates for upcoming cruise(s) onboard.
  5. Yep. I managed to apply a second certificate to my October Cruise. (I am in Europe so final pay isn't until 30 day before sailing)
  6. What I've heard: Double Cruisenext on all cabins until end of August. New bookings. But isn't that what they always say, and yet it can be applied to existing ones. Sure hope so!
  7. Sounds really strange! I'm a solo traveller and I had a family inside on Spirit in May. Can't imagine there would be special rules for oceanviews.
  8. The handful or two times I've used chat has been great. Only minor, easy stuff though. If it's important/big my PCC gets an email instead. He's great!
  9. I know it was there June 28 because I replied to a question about it then. Before that? No idea!
  10. I doubt it's really about emergency channels. Rather them being a nuisance to other passengers and possibly crew. As I understand it more advanced/powerful models have been confiscated in many cases because they can interfere with crew radios (and those emergency channels?). Simple ones have been ok. But to make things easier and not getting into pointless discussions they now simply say "no walkie talkies".
  11. Can't say when because it's not something I have had any interst in, but I saw it some weeks ago when someone asked elsewhere about using them. Edit: And since it's on the prohibited items list and ha been so for everyone that has checked in for any upcoming cruise (and therefor claimed to have read the list) I imagine it is effective now.
  12. I contacted my PCC and asked what he could do price-wise to get me room upgrade on a cruise that at the time was a few weeks away. What he came back with was good enough for me. Much lower than if I had made a bid in the "upgrade auction".
  13. OF COURSE they should have handled your refund better. Much better! But has been mentioned there is also the option of selling them in a Facebook group or elsewhere. It seems to me that Demand is higher than supply!
  14. Those notes are for firsta day embarkation and last day disembark. Not for port days. Usually it's 30 minutes before sail-off to be onboard.
  15. Online chat is perfect for this and other things if you (like me) don't want to call. I don't think it's in the app, but on the web site.
  16. I have made a bookmark at the promo Terms ans Conditions page. That way I can see current promos. Edit: Never mind! I see you use something similar. That page does change according to current promos in other areas though.
  17. Oh, just notices it's October 2024! I hope that means we¨re good this year!
  18. Wow! Well, if I had booked the original cruise it would have been to see Ireland. Actually, I HAVE booked a cruise to see at least alittle bit of Ireland in October. The only Ireland tender port on that cruise is Dublin, so I hope we won't have a change similar to this! Getting a little nervous though!
  19. Well, I know that NOW! But back then I thought I had to spend the "free money! onboard. And I don't spend money onboard! Excpet that time when I needed to upgrade Internet. If I hadn't had that need I would have spent it things I really didn't want or need. Yes, I would have been wrong, but they really don't make this very clear when just reading about it. I doubt I'm the only one that has misunderstood this at some point when new to cruising and onboard accounts and what have you. Why not just make it super-easy? "This voucher is worth 250 but you pay 125". Because that is what it is!
  20. Could not agree more! When I bought my first one I wasn't aware that the OBC actually counted towards the CN purchase price. I thought I had to use it for something onboard. Fortunately that was my plan all along (needed an Internet upgrade) so no harm done. But still I felt a little foolish. I know better now. 😉
  21. True, but the "hardware" as far as views go should be about the same, shouldn't it?
  22. Old thread, but probably about the same even after refurb. https://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/topic/2214941-gem-cabin-8086
  23. I have to agree with @JandC_Cruising I have applied CN to existing bookings. Both through my PCC and also done it myself online.
