  1. The following is an article on Cruise Critic about the Artist Loft…..last line states no fee for the class or materials. Says was updated in October, 2023. What is the Artist Loft on Oceania? The Artist Loft is part venue, part experience. Passengers sailing on Marina or Riviera can visit the space, located on Deck 12, to work on new skills or hone existing ones. It's a large workshop with long tables so passengers can spread out. Shelves line one of the walls so projects can be stored for drying and safekeeping between classes. Oceania hires artists, on contracts that range from a few weeks to several months, to lead sessions on creating -- and understanding -- art. While the two ships in Oceania's O Class are the only ones with dedicated, purpose-built art centers, other ships, like Insignia, occasionally host classes in pop-up spaces, like lounges or computer labs. How it Works Courses begin early in the cruise, so passengers have multiple opportunities to work on their pieces, with the artist providing instruction and feedback. Or cruisers can simply attend one session, as classes are different from one to the next. The artists dictate the projects based on their skills, so one person might specialize in watercolors, another in glass. Classes last about 90 minutes, and passenger limits vary depending on the space needed to create. They generally are offered twice per sea day or once daily on port days. Courses and materials are free.
  2. We were on Vista in May and with traveling partners had 2 verandah staterooms on Deck 8 and did not experience any of the creaking noises.
  3. Per the article posted on the O Website dated 12/8 it sounds like the PH suites are receiving a complete renovation. Penthouse Suites Renovation The Penthouse Suites will be completely refurbished with custom-crafted furniture as well as the addition of more closets and cabinetry to increase guest storage space, plus new carpets and upholstery, updated modern lighting and thoughtful details such as more outlets and USB ports. Each Penthouse Suite will have a sleek restyled bathroom, with distinctive Italian marble throughout, abundant drawer space, and generous over-sized showers, offering the elegant residential luxury for which Oceania Cruises is renowned.
  4. Thanks, departing the ship the evening of arrival also crossed my mind since we have already spent quite some time in Lisbon on a prior visit a couple of years ago.
  5. This has probably been answered before and I apologize but what searches I tried did not bring up anything. We are potentially looking at a cruise which ends in Lisbon. The ship spends the last night of the cruise overnight in Lisbon also. In looking at flights there is a 10:15 am flight out of Lisbon which would be ideal. If you have an overnight, what time are you able to depart the ship the last morning to catch a flight? We have never had an overnight in the disembarkation port before and was not sure how it worked on getting off. No issue and understand we would be on our own taking off luggage, etc. Do you have to wait for the port authority to open for day so unknown? Thanks for any information.
  6. Sometimes a call just works best.
  7. When I go in under Manage Bookings on my account you are correct they are included with the Shop Beverage Packages section. However, for me after each guest there are the options to purchase with a choice to select one of them by clicking on circle. When does your cruise depart? For example beverage packages must be purchased at least 7 days prior to the cruise, perhaps same applies to prepaid gratuities????
  8. Seems like this thread is now focusing on a different cruise than the OP indicated and was questioning.
  9. Well it is an unusual cruise considering the circumstances and Fran is trying to let everyone know the other side than the “doom and gloom we’re here for the group therapy crowd” so Fran feels the need to emphasize exactly HOW FRAN FEELS.
  10. But your reasoning was because Fran was posting on this forum she must not be having a good time even though Fran said they were having a good time. As noted many people post daily while on cruises about their experience and the enjoyable time they are having.
  11. So all those people who post about their wonderful cruise experience with daily updates on this forum are also most likely not having a “good time”?
  12. Per a report I saw, one was a bulk carrier and the other a container ship.
  13. Correct, it was delayed leaving Vancouver on 10/9 due to refrigeration issues. They were fixed so they could finally get the cruise moving, but most likely was a temporary fix. It would appear now they are working on the permanent fix thus the issues on Deck 11. There was a thread on that particular cruise and can be found on the Regatta category.
  14. I interpreted to mean that to these cruisers it was acceptable so they decided to do it. It was their choice so in reality what anyone else thinks about it or if it is impressive or not is pointless.
  15. We also enjoyed Embers. No issues. Also, do we really need another thread on this topic. Just take a look at the other threads out there.
  16. Well I’ll continue to cruise with them, so not is all doom and gloom as you proclaim. Vive le Oceania!
  17. You may be taking a big risk, are we sure the carpet will be replaced, especially in veranda staterooms? Does carpet fall under the fabric and upholstery refresh?? Hmmmm. The plot thickens. When I’m on Marina post the partial refurbishment and the carpet was not replaced and I see a big wine stain on it at least I know who I’m questioning!!! 😀
  18. It really does seem to be a fairly significant change from plan. Didn’t the Riviera also get new furniture with lighter wood finishes? Per the bulleted list provided on another thread it says just a fabric and upholstery refresh for all staterooms. Not that I’d consider canceling a cruise but it will make a fairly significant difference in the veranda staterooms now between the two O class ships.
  19. Perhaps you didn’t see more than one refill is because most may not have more than 2 glasses of wine for every meal??
  20. I noticed that also……was not the best written article needless to say. But to your question also very interested as have a cruise on Marina for latter part of 2024.
  21. All three of us enjoyed our meal, and we’re not even fans of “ Applebys”. Now we did find the noise level a bit much but that seems like something that can be addressed.
  22. According to the article it will be where La Reserve is located and those pairings will now be in Privee.
