When we got on board we checked in to the concierge lounge to see about the reservations and her response was “Yes, I have them right here (pointing to a piece of paper on her desk) and I will be going up there later to make the reservations).” Too late, honey. We didn’t get on the ship until after 1.

And when you log into the second device it says that you are already logged in to another device and would you like to switch to this one. No need to keep logging on and off, it does it for you. But it helps your battery to remember to log off but not necessary. Back to the Live from!

From what I understand it’s the competency of the suite concierge. Ours was awful. What ship where are you on?

That's been up for at least 6 months. With the Royal, they were coming out with new videos every week right up until first cruise. Did they layoff most of the Marketing Department?

Even the website makes almost no mention of the Sun debut. It’s as if Princess isn’t even interested in the rollout. It’s seems we are more excited than they are!

And that lobster… yuck! If you are ever in the Boston area I will grill you an amazing lobster! 🤪

I know that staff are all about positive reviews in the survey but Princess does NOTHING about negative comments that I can’t see them even reading them never mind giving kudos to crew. I have written some really bad things in the survey and they didn’t feel the need to contact me nor has anything changed.

Simple solution. As soon as you buy a book open your kindle and download it. Then it’s on your device wherever you are.

There’s a ton more shade on the sun deck then on the non Edge class ships where there is none! Depending on where the sun is, there are lounges with overhangs and umbrellas neck to deck chairs. And there is a small pool for relief from the heat.

And just because the WiFi may be on on your kindle doesn’t mean you will charged for internet use. You still would have to log on the ships internet. And if you don’t have an account there is nothing to charge you. But yes, put it on airplane mode. It helps save your battery too. I always have it in airplane mode unless I’m downloading another book. Even at home.

Of course they are going to put what is perceived as the best part of the ship where people have to pay more money to be there. I actually prefer the back of the ship! And Princess is (finally in my eyes) catching up with everyone else. The new Sun Class ships now have a suite deck area, dinning room, and lounge. And they are at the back of the ship where I like to be!!

Another lost benefit of platinum/elites is the elimination of the preferred line at check in. We could avoid the long line outside before getting in the terminal. Another reason we look to Celebrity first nowadays.

In a VERY general summary, it replaces the card you used to get that you would charge drinks, chips, shops to as well as open your cabin door. There is a whole section of the Princess website that explains it. There are a ton more features but I’ll let you do your own research

Go to the sun thread. They talk about it there. There’s even a rumor that the first few sailings won’t have it ready until they get on the ship. You need a lot of patience when you book an early sailing of a new class of ship. Everything is new. Rolling out a 3rd or 4th version of a ship class is mostly a cookie cutter operation. But Princess has never had a specific restaurant for suites nor one for “reserved class”. Plus the MDR is like nothing Princess has ever done. They are starting from scratch here. The excitement of being the first ones on a new design comes with frustrations of being on a new design.

Then yeah, no chance of getting a reservation. First it’s advertised as a 20 day cruise and then there are those that are doing a true B2B.

This wasn’t a “live from”. He didn’t knowingly have Covid and continue his cruise. He had it when he returned. (Sorry all, I think this poster thought differently)

There is no such thing as “booking before you board”. You most likely won’t get spaces for your first leg and will absolutely get reservations for your second. It has nothing to do with whether you book them as two 10 day segments or one 20 day segment. It’s when the reservations are available on the ship.

What ship are you on? Grand class ships have a much larger sanctuary so being platinum will probably get you loungers the first week. If it’s a Royal class ship then I would be very surprised if they weren’t already sold out by the time you got there. And that’s because of all the B2Bs from the week before your first segment. And guess what, now you’ll be those B2Bs on your second segment getting all those reservations. So good luck for the first week and you are assured for the second. Again, ship name will help.
