  1. Thanks for sharing this @Mareblu. We have a cruise booked on Oceania for Sept. 2023. I was hoping I could wear my pretty dresses. Would a tux be out of place?
  2. @Lanky Lad I wonder what was the source of the fire.
  3. @IB2 I have had similar situations on both HAL and Celebrity.
  4. @IB2 Some of us Americans DO have an electric kettle, complete settings for the type of tea.. I LOVE ours.
  5. Look what I found! Giving credit to Acorn shopping magazine.
  6. I’m not the person who has to decide if your shirt has a collar or not, but none of my henley’s would qualify as having a collar.
  7. We’re all in for the formal nights. I have bought 3 formals, only need 2, and they are in the hands of alterations. I have 2 short fancy dresses and lots of black velvet ready to pack. DH had a final fitting for his new tux. 2 shirts, 2 cummerbunds, 2 ties. He will be taking a suit and several ties. We are in QG and will dress nicely every night. We decided this is an important part of the TA for us, so we will be using luggage forwarding. (DH was a little surprised at the cost but knows I can’t cart heavy luggage due to shoulder arthritis). While we live 5 minutes from the cruise ship piers, the ships only sail to Alaska. 😞 Been there done that several times. So, we will always be looking at fly to sail cruises.
  8. @B.Boomer Grand dad collar. Never heard that term before, but I assume you mean a button down shirt without a collar. I wonder if you could put a bow tie with it? I saw so many really fun bow ties last weekend, but of course my ultra conservative (in clothing) DH would never even think of wearing one of them. Purple with chartreuse polk dots. Bright yellow with multi-colored dots. Now, I don’t know if a bow tie will stay on the shirt you are referring to, and you would have to actually tie the tie rather than use a clip on or pre-tied velcro because it would be visible. Have fun!
  9. I wanted to make sure we got a car big enough for 3 large and 1 carry-on pieces of luggage. I will never forget ordering a cab/van ahead of time and a regular cab showing up. We had to sit on luggage! Never again.
  10. My TA, Kelly, works in the Santa Clarita Cunard office. She arranged a car service from Brooklyn to JFK. It isn’t cheap, over $100., but if the car isn’t there I have her phone number. Fortunately our flight time was changed from noon to 4:00pm so we have plenty of time. @Tonopah had problems in London and I want to make sure I have a number to call and a person to send the receipts to if there is a problem.
  11. Hello, I’ve arranged this, but need to pull the details. Will post tomorrow.Fingers having issues tonight’’’1
  12. @Tonopah I’m with you every step you post, Hang in there!
  13. @ExArkieThank you for this fantastic post.
  14. @Tonopah Do tell me the name of the pub! We are staying at Grosvenor Square which is close to Marble Arch.
  15. @Tonopah I read about your transport difficulties and trust you’re enjoying dinner in London as I type (6:07pm London times, 10:07am PNW U.S. time) Phillies won in overtime by one run. Crazy guy tried to attack Nancy Pelosi and put her husband in the hospital. How was getting through immigration at LHR? Do you have Global …Express? Are there signs of Halloween? I don’t know if its a thing in the U.K. like it is in the U.S. Take care - and thinking of you.
  16. @photosg The picture of the restaurant with the octopus display is fascinating.
  17. @ExArkie We are also in QG for the TA. @Camgirl Perhaps we’ll meet another time.
  18. @Camgirl and @ExArkie I’ve forgotten- are you both on the TA that departs Dec. 15? If so, I’d love to meet both of you. Let’s hope there is a CC meet up.
  19. @Tonopah What are you taking to work on during vacation? How much of your suitcase is filled with yarn? 🙂
  20. @buchanan101 Thank you for your review. We look forward to taking over your room in December.
  21. @buchanan101 I have written a note and dropped it into our Cunard folder for the cruise. Now I’ll go find your review. Take Care —
