Tabernac. 😂 We are cruising December 31st from Fort Lauderdale and get there a few nights prior. We already have tickets for the Panthers VS the Habs. Like any good Leaf fan I’ll be cheering for the Panthers. Well, except to Tkachuk. Side note, three seats at the glass in FL are cheaper than one in the gold section in Toronto. And who will you be cheering for dare I ask?

I guess it gives a new meaning to the song Candy Shop. On the same note, some guests might be disappointed in the gummy selections at Sugar Beach on some Oasis Class ships.

I just finished watching Below Deck, and Camille… OMG. If the Captain could get around more she’d be gone. Instead he is leaving. Hopefully the new Captain will take care of business. She doesn’t know who to report to my butt. And Ross, I don’t even know what to say, after the final 10 minutes of the show.

I just saw some tornado damage photos from Grapevine TX. I hope all of our friends here in the Dallas area are safe and sound.

Thanks so much for bringing us along. I have a question for you. As you have to fly to your departure port, if the cruise cost the same would you sail from Houston again or would you tend to stay with FL departures?

I’m trying to understand your suggestion above. First off Star Class gratuities are “included”.😉 In reality they are rolled into your cabin cost, as we know they aren’t free. Trying to add that will not go over well. Under your proposed suggestion of 20% gratuities a Star Class cabin at $15K for a week would then be charged an additional $3k in tips just for their stewards, MDR room staff, and behind the scenes staff as per normal breakout of tips. Then add tax to that cruise cost increase. As a regular Star Class guest you also know that is a cabin deal at todays prices. Some regular suites are almost that price. Do you think these services will have improved with that 20% addition? This doesn’t include the Genie tip, specialty dining staff, bartenders along the way etc… that one wishes to tip over and above. How much would you propose the Genie gets in cash if the regular staff get $3k? At these rates we are beyond mass market cruise lines and closer to the Ritz Carlton yachts, or a private yacht over a cabin on deck 17.

We too had horrible internet on Mariner. So bad it couldn’t do a speed test, it would crap out without completing. In the past we had had great luck on Harmony and we sail on her December 31st. I’m hoping my live review will go much easier in a few weeks, than my one on Mariner.

Some people have dirtier undercarriages than others too. Not sure if the steward will be tipped though for picking up said towel. 😂

Agreed, however RC’s last one was in September. You’d think it was coming tomorrow at the rate of discussion here. I think a more topical discussion of concern should be a possible fuel surcharge with the high price of it. The only difference, guests can’t go to GS and remove it.

Considering this thread is about NCL actually raising their gratuities, there is a lot of bemoaning here on the RC board.
