  1. At this level of boys hockey in Canada all hand shakes happen between the kids before the game starts. They meet at centre ice and orderly shake hands. The boys then skate past the opposing bench and shake the coaches hands. After the game the coaches walk to centre ice and shake. The kids do not shake at the end for a reason, especially when more often then not there are only 2 refs. This way they avoid bad situations becoming worse, thanks to emotions boiling over and getting the best of the them from events during the game. It happens this way for a reason. This game for example there were three players thrown out for penalties, and there are rougher games. Now knowing this, you should be happy to see is Owen took his time to shake hands with the all their coaches, ours coaches and fist bumping the refs at the end. He has good sportsmanship when there are others out there that do not have it. What you should find disappointing is the one team we played 4 times this year whose kids refused to shake hands at the start and their coaches didn’t at the end. They were not our favourite team for a multitude of reasons.
  2. Year before last there was no fist bumps or hand shakes allowed. Obviously contact was allowed, but unnecessary contact was not. Just the rules that were implemented and had to be followed.
  3. This isn’t just a Wonder issue. This has been plaguing the suites on deck 17 Oasis Class ships since they first came out. You also see it by the mini golf, flow riders, and basketball court. It can happen to any cabin past the stacks, unless they have no balcony. It really depends on whatever direction the winds took the soot, to where it lands. Still crappy when you get it on your clothing etc..
  4. Or look at it differently. Behavioural changes can also come from within. After 30 years of treating social media one way it doesn’t mean that you have to continue on the same path.
  5. Once my father in-law looked at life differently he decided to go on a cruise VS stay at home. He realized releasing the moths from his wallet and bank account was worth it to make memories. I mean just a small one got out 😉, but cruising the Panama Canal opened his eyes to the value of travelling.
  6. Or take control yourself and block them and you will never see their posts. It’s just a couple of clicks to relieve your suffering. It’s better than living the life of a martyr.
  7. @dani negreanu and @Ozark_Kid I don’t know and why these things happen. I wish I could give an explanation but I can’t. I’m sorry that each of you are facing these challenges and I wish there is something we could do to change it for you both. Hugs to you both and your families.
  8. Last night was the final playoff game of the season for Owen and his team. They have a rough spell in January and February but ended the season with 9 wins and a tie. The game last night was the second game of a best of 3 series. Owen’s team won the first game 5-1 on Saturday, with Owen getting a goal. Last night they were down 2-1 but ended up tying it in the third. They got the go ahead goal with less than 4 minutes left. Both games were physical, with one of their players getting a 5 minute penalty and a 3 game suspension on Saturday in game one. In last night’s game 1 player from each of the teams got a 5 minute penalty and a 3 suspension for fighting. With about 30 seconds left another of their players was thrown out of the game for what I’ll call bad decisions. We know their coach from soccer, as he was one of Owen’s coaches, and he said this particular kid is a hot head. With about 15 seconds left the puck was deep in our end for a face off. Their goalie was pulled so it was 6 on 5. Our team won the face off and Owen was gone with the puck. Our team scored with less than a second on the clock and Owen fed the puck to one of his good friends, who got a hat trick last night. 3 goals in a game, his best game of the season. Owen is 21 and always the last of the ice. Owen with his friend, with the player of the game hat on.😃
  9. LOLOL, so many comments I could make but won’t.
  10. In fact the counter of the Schooner Bar had a perfect polish thanks to all of us. Let me quote some lyrics of one of my favourite drinking songs, “Home for a Rest” by Spirit of the West. It’s from the late 80s/early 90s. @Tree_skier and @Ourusualbeach might even remember the song from back in the day. The video below is from their tour in the UK way back. We never saw nothin' but brass taps and oak Kept a shine on the bar with the sleeves of our coats You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best I've been gone for a week I've been drunk since I left And these so-called vacations Will soon be my death I'm so sick from the drink I need home for a rest Take me home...
  11. Add to that, some book the ATS which have multiple bedrooms.
  12. I was on the same sailing as Ken. She is a bit worn if you look for things, but she is how old now…almost 15? She has a some exterior surface rust but that didn’t stop me from having a great time.
  13. There was really just one that was concerned. In a day or so this should slip to the back pages of CC.
  14. What if it was your own. Just go first and no one else will join you. 🤪😂
  15. Some would sooner sail 6-10 times a year and others go once for the same amount of money. Everyone is different.
  16. I once, with 35 RC sailings, got a resident rate for the Province of Ontario. 🤯
  17. Those wondering about your kids sailings and points they accumulated we have done the following. We have a note on our iPad, to which we update and print after every sailing. On it is shows the following. - ship and date of sailing - who from our house sailed (parents, with or without son) - points accumulated on that sailing On the bottom of the page we also list our total running points as a couple, and our son’s actual points for the cruises he was on. If we ever have an issue with lost cruise points we have this as an easy reference to go from. We also have saved our past cruise cards, on top of photos from our holidays. I have read that RC would accept/use photos of people on the ship as proof enough that you were there if their records don’t match theirs.
  18. Thankfully our son is D+ on his actual sailings, over and above our status. He won’t have to wait and see what happens to him at 18
  19. I suspect it was locked or deleted because it was a tipping thread. Again, “I don’t remember it as stated” would be your interpretation. I walked away from it for a reason.
