  1. This may have been asked but I couldn't find in a search. Is there a way to book 6 people (3 booking numbers) on the same shore excursion using the online booking?
  2. Just book specialty dining for the explorer on our Auckland - Bali - two segment cruise. No issues 3 nights in each segment and even got our time on Chinese New Year at Pac Rim (thanks @daetchief for the suggestion). I did notice that on one night each segment (Melbourne and Cairns) there was zero availability at any of the specialty restaurants. Why is that? Do they give the staff a night off and if so I'm surprised they would do that at all three specialty locations on the same night. It didn't impact our choices but curious.
  3. Very good point and if I might add places like Hong Kong, Tokyo, Israel, for some it might be easier to navigate and safer to take the pre-cruise hotel rather than book on your own. We have several upcoming cruises in Auckland we just booked the Hilton by the point for 3 nights. For our Israel, HK and capetown departures we are doing the pre cruise land packages and I haven't decided what we will do in Istanbul yet.
  4. If you fly the same airline like American YYZ/MIA/GIG they will usually book you in business all the way.
  5. usually, they have you watch when the search your bag and DW does the pill packs but keeps a picture of her prescription bottles on her phone in case they ask.
  6. I think those that won't cruise now are far in the minority. I would assume a huge corporation would have done a little research and discovered lots of people were holding back because of the restrictions.
  7. Norwegian Cruise Line CEO announces end to all COVID requirements: It's a 'hindrance to business' | Fox Business Totally agree with him. Business picked up significantly after they dropped the vax requirment.
  8. The cruise port is a little over 4 miles to the Marriott so quite a hike with luggage
  9. just got this from regent Dear Valued Guest and Travel Partner, We have an important update for you regarding your upcoming cruise and the required Australian Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). The Australian government has changed their process for issuing ETAs. At this time, they are only issued through the government’s Department of Home Affairs’ Smart Phone Australian ETA app. You can download the Australian ETA app for free from the Apple Store or Google Play Store (Andriod). A step by step guide can be found here. Unfortunately, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and third-party visa service providers are currently unable to secure the ETA on behalf of guests. If you have pre-purchased the Australian ETA through Regent, we will be removing the extension from your reservation and issuing a refund, if applicable, shortly. It is imperative that all guests obtain the necessary documents in advance of sailing. Failure to produce the correct documentation at embarkation will result in denial of boarding. Please ensure your passport is valid at least 6 months after your return date. Citizens and residents of other countries should check with their local consulate for individual visa requirements. VisaCentral has also provided us with the following link to assist our international guests with visa requirements: http://rssc.visacentral.com. A list of Australian ETA eligible nationalities can be found here. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
  10. Wow that is crazy. We are going to Singapore after our cruise this February. DW smokes but also likes to vape. I read you can't even carry a vape when transiting at changi airport. They probably do it because they can't tell what is in the oil.
  11. The 5% discount on the SG excursions and land packages can make it worth it depending on how many you choose.
  12. Bingo, Love the car analogy. Pricing and itinerary got us to book a Silverseas cruise on the Dawn. First we have 30 plus days on explorer in january and then the silverseas cruise in May/June. So, by that point we should not have any covid excuses as the line should have things ironed out. I'll post my thoughts once I've sampled.
  13. They had a few and were good on the May -June splendor cruise
  14. I wish ther would just drop Namibia as a port and add one in Madagascar or Zanzibar. Just my opinion as sand dunes aren’t that interesting to me.
  15. I looked this up for Namibia but SA not a risk country so see that is would be required coming from Lisbon going through several Central African countries but not SA: Required if traveling from a country with risk of YF virus transmission and ≥9 months of age, including transit >12 hours in an airport located in a country with risk of YF virus transmission.1 This list of risk countries https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/yellowbook/2020/travel-related-infectious-diseases/yellow-fever#table423
  16. I noticed that for 2024-5 that is the case. It is why I am trying out SS on a Norway cruise in May/June. I have some good prices on my current RSSC cruises. On the 24/25 Capetown 15 N apples to apples with business class air I can book a silver suite on SSpirit for about the same as a PH on RSSC splendor. So if the May cruise on the Dawn proves wonderful, I may switch over to SS.
  17. That would be helpful. For a cruise line that expects people to dress formal and travel with all those clothes it’s the least they could do. I see why regent is more popular these days.
  18. one could apply that to many things food, private cars, private jets....... a slippery slope indeed
  19. I'll bring a suit and two sport coats. Do they have complimentary pressing on board?
  20. Dw likes Red Bull, do they have it on board?
  21. I would say the Silverses excursion booking engine is much smoother and easier to use. It would be nice to have graphics like that.
  22. I found that with most of my roll calls. I just don't think many RSSC travelers use CC. seems the same with SS. On our last cruise there were only a handful of CC people.
  23. I hope I find what we want as Darwin is our last stop. saw some cool shows on youtube about the opal mining and cutting.
  24. they probably don't include it because not everyone needs a visa depends on where you are from
