I think Jaromir Jagr must be an alien. Those who know hockey, know who Jagr is. The Pens retired his jersey, and raised it to the rafters yesterday. Just looking at the photo of all his Pens teammates, how did he not age like they did? And to still be playing hockey at 52 is outstanding.

I admit, that I have been spoiled by all the nice people on this thread. I have been dwelling on the Princess threads, keeping up with the soon to be inaugural cruise on the ship we will be sailing after Utopia. Today, I went playing in the minefields, as one of the threads turned from an add on, extras thread, to a tipping thread. It has been entertaining. But I also encountered a poster from the UK, that I would have to place in the “Not Nice” category. So now, I need an interpretation from our friends from the UK. What does it mean, if someone asks, “Are you hiding in my chimney?” I guess I need to see if I have been insulted, before I dive back in.😏 Went for a walk, and I am 50 posts behind on it already.

My son and his family flew to Hawaii for their winter school break this week. It looks like they are having much better weather there, instead of the new storms in the Bay Area. Meanwhile, I am here in the snow doing taxes. I need a getaway about now.

Daughter and her family went to the Titanic Artifact Exebition yesterday. Everyone was give a passenger ticket with the name of an actual passenger. I heard the grandkids were asking if their cabin on Utopia would be like this one. It looks like they had prices comparable to Royal. it looks like it was an interesting exhibit.

Congratulations! Glad to hear they are doing well. He is close to my son’s birth weight. He was born 5 weeks early and came in at 5lb 9oz.

I believe I read that if you have the Plus package, which covers alcoholic drinks up to $15, you can still get that more expensive $17 or $20 drink. You just pay the difference, plus gratuity on the additional amount.

If you have never been to Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor, it is worth the trip. Portions are huge. Just do a search for it. It is listed in Dania Beach, but I think it is part of the Hollywood area.

I read on another thread that only the first few sailings on Sun have dining reservations available. They may be waiting until the ship gets her first voyage in, before opening up other sailings.

Some of Verizon’s plans let you earn International coverage. I think they earn something like 1 day a month. That is what is on 3 of the 4 phones on our account. My plan, I have free Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ as my benefit. All of them have hot spots. So, depending on your plans, you can get those days without their card.

It appear they did have a buffer built in, but not a large enough one for this first ship in the class. They were originally supposed to take possession in December 2023, but obviously something impacted that schedule. They simply had to know well in advance, and they probably did, but made the decision to try and rush things at the end. I wonder if anyone is looking at the schedule of the Star, because if it follows the same trajectory as the Sun, those August 2025 cruises would be wishful at best. They did the keel laying for Sun on June 8, 2022, and didn’t have float out until March 8, 2023. Here we are, almost a year later until the, now revised, inaugural sailing. Star just had the keel laid on December 11, 2023, which would put the float in mid September this year. Tack on the same schedule after float out, and you are looking at the end of August, 2025, but inaugural is being sold for August 4th.

They show up when using my phone, but not when using my iPad.

RCL had two months from the date they took possession of Icon until the first revenue sailing. Even then, not everything was 100% ready, and they sailed at reduced capacity. I would expect Sun will still be working through issues through sailings in May.
