  1. Some of Verizon’s plans let you earn International coverage. I think they earn something like 1 day a month. That is what is on 3 of the 4 phones on our account. My plan, I have free Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ as my benefit. All of them have hot spots. So, depending on your plans, you can get those days without their card.
  2. It appear they did have a buffer built in, but not a large enough one for this first ship in the class. They were originally supposed to take possession in December 2023, but obviously something impacted that schedule. They simply had to know well in advance, and they probably did, but made the decision to try and rush things at the end. I wonder if anyone is looking at the schedule of the Star, because if it follows the same trajectory as the Sun, those August 2025 cruises would be wishful at best. They did the keel laying for Sun on June 8, 2022, and didn’t have float out until March 8, 2023. Here we are, almost a year later until the, now revised, inaugural sailing. Star just had the keel laid on December 11, 2023, which would put the float in mid September this year. Tack on the same schedule after float out, and you are looking at the end of August, 2025, but inaugural is being sold for August 4th.
  3. RCL had two months from the date they took possession of Icon until the first revenue sailing. Even then, not everything was 100% ready, and they sailed at reduced capacity. I would expect Sun will still be working through issues through sailings in May.
  4. Haven’t seen you on here for a while. I thought maybe you got your RV out and went camping. This campground is open year round, and those full time campers have been lucky with no snow. This one has a nice setup with a starlink antenna. It was 17° last night, so these win the hearty camper award.
  5. Any recent updates on the ship? Do we know if it is going to get a car, instead of something like that dog sculpture on icon?
  6. Still not on my end either. CC found a few more to send me. I went from 863 to this number. Greg, glad the surgery was a success. Really hated to see that about the end of the parade. I hope they are able to find some answers to this senseless act. I am not counting them out just yet. She was fever free for 24 hours, which was required for her to return to school, so she made it back today. SIL made it to work today, so he must be fever free also. My guess is they will make Friday’s dance if they do not have a relapse. Just hoping my daughter does not get it. They did have an update that they had 3 in custody, but they also updated the number shot. Sadly, it included several children.
  7. Feb 18 was canceled last night, hence my question. How many more will be canceled?
  8. Is that going to be the new inaugural cruise now? The way things are going, maybe the app and the ship will have the problems worked out by then.
  9. This is such a rare thing for Royal to do. We had that on our cruise too, but that may have been only the second time in all of our Royal cruises. More common of Celebrity and Princess, at least that has been our experience in warmer ports. And the cooling towels are always refreshing.
  10. Happy Valentine’s Day. I was just reading an article about the high cost of loving in the UK. Yes, that is not an autocorrect. I think I am spending way more on my endeavors than this. The average British couple now spends up to £3,531.20* annually in efforts to sustain their romantic endeavours Try date banking, where you plan for an affordable holiday and get as many dates as possible into a trip away
  11. From our house too. Hope those fractures heal quickly. Our granddaughter did end up in a boot for her fracture, but I think she gets rid of it today. Things have been sad at her house, because this Friday is the father daughter dance, and both of them have the flu and are slowly getting over it. Happy birthday to Lisa.
  12. Maybe if they are on B2B, there will be some, but given the late notice on the 18th cancellation, I would be worried about the next sailing. Lots of speculation on the Sun thread.
  13. I saw that earlier. All they say is it was an elderly lady. I think reporters are getting too young. Anytime I see a story that mentions an “elderly” person, then they mention an age, they are now referring to someone my age. To me, elderly will always be someone older than me.
  14. I don’t recall who recommended the movie, The Bee Keeper. We had a private screening on Sunday at the movie theatre. We were the only ones in the theatre after church, during normal lunch hour. We both liked the movie.
  15. @Sea Dog Greg, I was just reading you have your surgery coming up tomorrow. Wishing you a successful outcome.
  16. I am glad the forecast changed for our area. Now it looks like we will miss most of the snow. Just a few flurries coming down from Lake Erie. I will enjoy the snow, just by looking at those pictures east of us. oh, that s**ks. That is the kind of day the tow trucks and repair shops live for. Good you made it home without further incident.
  17. Naturally, I am behind and still not getting notifications, so I will try to scroll back to catch up. In case no one has said it, happy Mardi Gras. I am ready with my beads and Voodoo doll. Who else has a voodoo doll but me? I always enjoy watching the antics on Bourbon Street, especially later at night. Here is a live stream link if anyone is interested. https://www.earthcam.com/usa/louisiana/neworleans/bourbonstreet/?cam=bourbonstreet
  18. I will be following along too. Although we live within easy driving distance to the port, our luck has not been with us to sail from there. Enjoy.
