  1. It seems like we have lost a few notable musicians already this year. In addition to Crosby, we also lost Jeff Beck and Robbie Bachman earlier this month.
  2. This is the one I used. It has some nice features. I have a text to picture AI app that I need to play around with more. The kids like how easy the above one is for them.
  3. I think I am now finally caught up. I keep one of the trickle chargers on our boat battery, while it is stored for the winter. I even hook it up after we take it out each time, spit is fully charged and ready to go.
  4. Here are a couple grandkids pictures for you. One of the reasons I was missing for a couple days, because they have been trading sickness, and we were watching them. Thankfully it was not Covid. So I have an AI app that will give them a movie star look, and you can even swap out backgrounds. Grandson tried his first. Then granddaughter We tried to do Ricky, but it said it couldn’t find a face. So he must not have a future in the movies. He just has to use his regular face. The kids tried it on both of us, and we haven’t looked that good in years. 🤣
  5. Dani, I know I sent you good wishes for your double celebration, but I wanted to send them again. It looks like you found a wonderful way to celebrate.
  6. This is the newer version of the one I have had for a couple years. It looks like they made some more improvements and lowered the price. https://www.amazon.com/WSTOO-Advanced-Breathing-Snorkeling-Panoramic/dp/B07PSGDCDN/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2BC8OYLCS18VP&keywords=w%2Bwstoo%2Bsnorkel%2Bmask%2Bwith%2Blatest%2Bdry%2Btop%2Bbreathing&qid=1674132765&sprefix=W%2BWst%2Caps%2C99&sr=8-1-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExNDExRDBKTVNWNzQxJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODQ2NjM1MTdERjI1RzNWVzFTVCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODYyOTM3MVQwT0lPNTZVSktQVCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1&psc=1 It is a good idea to order someplace like Amazon that takes returns. Because of the shape of her face, near her eyes, Susan could not get a good seal. We tested ours out in our hot tub after we got them. I know, we probably looked a little silly, but we found out right away.
  7. Thanks for sending me down that rabbit hole. You are right that it is complicated. It appears that even if everything is Atmos capable, you still may not get it, depending on the apps used. The Netflix app currently requires that playback devices be capable of decoding Dolby Atmos natively, instead of simply being able to pass through Dolby Atmos to an Atmos-capable soundbar or AV receiver. When I started looking at what I have, vs. what I would need, I came up with new tv, new AV receiver (although my speakers would be good), new Roku, and new Apple TV. I think I will be satisfied with my 7.1, until things wear out.
  8. I was reading that the average decibels in a movie theatre range from 85 db to 104 db, with the high end being short duration for explosions in some action movies. I hear you, or maybe not so well. Even a lot of every day environments have high noise levels. Almost every vehicle, except EV’s, have an interior cabin noise level between 70 and 75 db at a 60 mph cruising speed. Of course the difference between 70 or 75 and 80 is pronounced on the db scale.
  9. The ones we have, have one way valves that do not have the problem the early ones had with CO2. When you breathe in, the intake valves open to let oxygen in. When you exhale, it pushes to other valves open to get rid of the CO2. We have used ours for over an hour with no problems. We did meet someone on a snorkeling excursion in Curaçao that was using one of the older masks that had the CO2 problems, and he was feeing those effects within 15 minutes of use.
  10. with the one I have, it has a ball that seals off the tube, so it isn’t letting water in. So, in that case, you can stay under as long as you can hold your breath would be a good gauge.
  11. That sounds like a really nice setup. I have an Onkyo 7.1 surround system in my family room. I have heard the Sonos sound bars do a decent job. I guess like everything else, the technology moves fast. Running the wires, and keeping them hidden, was a real challenge for the eight speakers in our family room. I did manage to do it though. I remember we had one of those big oak entertainment cabinets that held the big CRT. Hated to give it up, but the big flatscreen won out. Of course, now I look at how old my Sony flatscreen is, and I think it will soon be time to update it. I imagine lifespan is getting shorter for the newer big screens, just like appliances.
  12. I did still have my boxes they came in, and used them for storage in my attic. Just got rid of them a couple years ago when I cleaned out my attic. Now, about the only thing stored there are different holiday decorations. Of course, organized pack rat that I am, I have all the original manuals filed away in pristine condition. It is interesting that they all came with internal electric diagrams. You can see the relative size of the 5’s, 6’s, and 7’s in the one photo.
  13. The Kenwood is the KR-6400. The BIC’s were the biggest tower speakers they made. They are about 42” tall. I think I paid between $250-$300 each, which was a lot in the 70’s for speakers. I also have a newer pair of BA exterior speakers that are wired from there to our deck. I also have a lower end Kenwood receiver, pioneer deck, and technics turntable, I bought for my mom and dad, sitting in my basement. I may need to take them to the antique store.
  14. We were just driving by @Lionesss house today. I will take this weather any day this winter. Only a couple days of a frozen mix in the next 10. I have yet to snowblow this winter. And I hope I don’t have to.
  15. I am still gun shy after our mini flood from the dishwasher last August. Never turn it on and just leave anymore. At least I am down to checking on it only once or twice during a cycle.
  16. We enjoyed the movie, but we like most of those with Tom Hanks in them. Not his best, but it had some entertaining parts. Since it did have some scenes with suicide attempts, I would not recommend it to anyone sensitive to that.
  17. Last night, we went to see the new Tom Hank’s movie, A Man Called Otto, on the big screen. It has been a while since we have been to the theatre, and those ticket prices are up like everything else. Even at senior prices, it was $25 for tickets, popcorn and pop. I saw the prices for non-seniors, and those would run $40. There were maybe 30 people in the theater for the movie. It isn’t any wonder that some theatres are closing. Hard to pay employees, building costs and rental fees when not many are going anymore.
  18. When we are traveling, it is always with Amazon music streaming and Waze for navigation. Never use the navigation screen in the vehicle, although it shows on one of the windows on the screen. I know that the maps are out of date on the Nav system, because one new toll road south of Pittsburgh isn't even on it. It looked like we were driving through fields.
  19. I still have all my “old school” components from the 70’s. Kenwood receiver, Dual turntable, and Pioneer deck. I had a cabinet maker build a custom oak cabinet I designed for the equipment, with mesh on the top doors for ventilation, and enclosed storage below for vinyl. Of course, it does store some other essentials too. It is still going to those monstrous BIC Formula 7 speakers as the main ones
