Another thing. It occurs to me to wonder if Gelato, on the ships that have it, has any non-dairy options. Anybody know about that?

I hope they'll have it for you and others who can't have dairy! Seems to me like it would be a no-brainer for them to do that.

I don't think so. As far as I know, the $35 booked in advance for platinum or elite is for the 1 device at a time package.

According to the website (link shared above), they do have non-dairy, vegan options. Whether or not these will be on the ship - well, who knows.

I take three usually. 1) walking shoes, 2) walking shoes in case walking shoes 1) get wet, 3) black suede "go into dinner" shoes.

I recently renewed mine via mail and expedited it. Got it back in three or four weeks.

We also sailed on the Discovery in August and basically just walked onto the ship after going through security. Very happy.

I wouldn't. For an 11:00 pm flight, I'd probably fall asleep somewhere in the airport and miss it completely.

If you mean the eclipse cruise, best to look into that soon. It's pretty well sold out now. Probably cancellations later, but maybe not.

We were on the Ruby last Halloween, and I can't honestly remember there being anything Halloween-specific. There might have been some banners or such in the piazza, but that's about it.

Interesting to see two different flavors of cruise for the total eclipse of the sun on 4/8/24. We're booked on the Discovery Princess for that, and I've been wondering when/if the other lines would offer one.

Those obstructed OV cabins really are convenient. So easy to just nip down one deck to the promenade.

I'm with you on that. I priced out the HAL sailing and, for a cabin most comparable to what we have booked on the Discovery, it was waaaaaayyy more. I don't care about having more days on the HAL sailing, it's just not attractive to me.

Eclipse cruise?

I'm very sorry for your loss. So sad that what should have been a happy occasion became a very unhappy one.

As noted above, it does get added to your account. Your medallion gets read when you ask for coffee or tea. The coffee package doesn't "live" in your medallion; it's in your onboard account. So, if you order from your cabin the coffee package is still applied. Your account must get updated each time you get coffee or tea, with a running total. But we've never been told we've run out or have been charged for any of these items.

I read that they're instituting a fine for "rowdy" behavior. I'd like to watch from a safe distance as they try to enforce that one.
