  1. I haven't stayed in that cabin, but I have stayed in a mid-ship cabin right next to the mid-ship elevators. We never heard a thing.
  2. I'd like to know this as well. We've actually never had one of these (or noticed it if we did), but it is noted on one of our upcomings.
  3. I sure wouldn't want to lose it! That's two coffee packages for us.
  4. This looks like how I filled ours out back in April. That should be fine. Nobody ever asked to see it, other than Princess staff during embarkation.
  5. I like a window seat on the left side. This enables me to suck over into the window/side of the plane. It leaves my right arm free to move and do whatever. I don't need the arm rest and leave it to the person in the middle seat next to me.
  6. In all fairness, on the cruise before our last one, we ordered from room service and it arrived very quickly. We were in our first, and probably only, suite, so that might have had something to do with it. This last instance that I posted about showed "in progress" immediately and then never moved along for the nearly two hours I mentioned. They weren't answering the phone. So we moved along to the buffet before my husband went Donner party on me. Personally, I think I'd always be okay with an order taking an hour.
  7. Yes, we knew that, but having the guy turn up in the buffet was still a surprise. Getting the order at all after two hours was a surprise.
  8. Here's what I'd like to add about room service. They will track you down! On the Ruby last fall, we ordered lunch from room service. After a nearly two hour wait, my DH was done with that. He wanted to be fed! We went down to the buffet and got some food. We sat down and started eating. A room service guy showed up at our table with our lunch order! We didn't mean to make the poor guy run around tracking us down - we just couldn't see that our order was going anywhere. So, we gave up. We apologized to him, but I'm not sure that was called for.
  9. That's what I've always seen.
  10. I would recommend any of the midship dining rooms. We had the aft dining room last November on the Ruby, and the waiting area was a mess every night. There's not a lot of room, and when everybody showed up at 5:00, it was chaos. Never again. The food is the same in all of them.
  11. Yeah, I remember that. Never could understand it, but I remember it.
  12. Sorry to hear that. Maybe you can be assigned to a better CVP?
  13. I agree. You should try to get your own CVP. Mine is great, and 90% of our interaction is done via email, which is my preferred contact method.
  14. Honestly, I've never been able to understand how anybody could look at one of those lifejackets and not know how to put it on correctly.
  15. This gets to be really funny sometimes. On one of our cruises last year, after we'd given up trying to understand the announcements, we spent the time they were on speculating on what the heck the accent was.
  16. Cruise before last, we started the video and then absent mindedly left the cabin with it playing. The fact that our medallions weren't in the cabin seemed to have busted us. We had to restart the video and stay in the cabin while it played.
  17. It seems to me that Princess could have avoided some confusion if they'd called the new package some else, like "Ultimate" perhaps.
  18. When I was booking our specialty reservations, that's what I saw too. But then I figured out that you have to pull on the time to scroll. I did that and saw lots of other times.
  19. My PVP says there is such a thing. I'm picky about cabins, and I've never gotten an unwanted upgrade after she told me that she'd marked the res no upgrade. Maybe I've been lucky, but maybe some other Princess staff just don't bother. Who can tell?
  20. I know this is possible because I've done it. Difference was refunded to my credit card. Call and ask. If you get denied, call again and ask. Success will probably hinge on who you talk to and their willingness to help.
  21. This keeps getting asked and answered. Everything above is valid. Of our three cruises since the restart, arrival time was available a week before final payment on one and two or three weeks out for the other two.
  22. We have two more booked for this year and two for next year. We're still optimistic.
  23. I think we've been lucky so far. We've cruised three times since the restart and the only things that really bothered us were these two things: Made the mistake of booking in the aft deck 6 dining room on the Ruby. Every night, it was a disaster at 5:00 when the world showed up and many of them didn't want to stand in line since they had reservations. The waiting area outside that dining room is ridiculous. It was shoulder to shoulder, with the line snaking back and forth. We stuck it out because we got a really great table for two and really great wait staff. We still had to stand in line and weren't allowed to just go in. We did a really nice excursion in Vancouver, but there was a lengthy delay getting off the ship. All the excursion groups were herded into the Princess theater, where we sat for over an hour with all the unmasked. The other little differences didn't bother us, and I was a big fan of the smaller portions in the MDR. I could get all courses instead of having to forgo one or more. As I said, I think we must have been lucky, since so many people have had so many problems.
