  1. Looks to me like rcl is trying to form new support in the 165 level. Today it needs to hold around 135 to hold here imo. Funds and computers trade off charts.
  2. Imo comparing cruises to flights are apples to oranges. A flight is transportation more so than a cruise is booked for entertainment. I will book a cruise gladly. I now hate flying. Whatever I book flight wise gets changed. My flight next may from rome to miami the price already dropped. Cant use flight credit on air europa most likely. I have flight credit on sw on both legs that dropped. I wanted to buy early bird, cant be used for anything but a new flight. I have been reading post a friend of mine is making from a princess cruise over in Norway. She flew into UK and her luggage wasnt there. They may deliver to her at the end of her cruise in time to fly home. Another bella cruise person flew last year to europe, no luggage, she didnt board. I'd bet I'm not the only one who dreads flying since covid. I honestly dont think people like me who dread flying but book cruises make the problems with flying compatible with cruise prices dropping are seeing the issues lately with flying. If a wheel falls off a plane it could risk my life. A small problem on a cruise ship might delay the ship but doesnt make me feel my life is at risk. Sweeping them into the same basket as equal and one will follow the other is not correct imo.
  3. Yes, I assume it's cheaper thinking a child eats less?
  4. Odd with my refundable deposits when I've booked next cruise or group rates with my TA I've had to pay for 2 people even though I'm solo. So I have bigger deposits than I would if I booked nonrefundable. OP is solo like I book and everything I'm booking refundable is double, $500 for me solo for 7 days. I think I paid $900, not $450 for 10 days etc. I have seen lower and given up refundable but not recently. But I've done it too. Agree np. @Ourusualbeachare refundable direct rates lower deposits? I booked with next cruise just that once for wonder. Was my deposit originally $250 for refundable?
  5. I'm sure hoping I dont have to take a taxi everywhere. This rome add on imo is already out of hand. Costs keep mounting. Someone on the carnival board said they used the HOHO bus and plotted from those stops. The whole reason I choose the hotel was because it was close to things supposedly. People said take a TA they are cheap, then it was the next leg went to greece. Then it was well it ends in rome, you have to see rome if you are there. I'm trying to save money. What I meant was I havent even booked the ports on the cruise. More $. Royal hasnt posted the choices so until i see what royal offers idk. This was supposed to be a inexpensive trip lol. I'm hoping there are places to eat i can just walk into. I saw you said you had booked reservations. I'm hoping to do this on a budget. It's just me, a solo trip. I already am worried this inexpensive TA is out of hand. I'm reading everything for tips. I got 3 excursions booked plus a day of walking and exploring on my own. Yes I can afford whatever it costs, but trying to budget. Ponta Delgada, Azores Málaga, Spain Cartagena, Spain Palma De Mallorca, Spain Barcelona, Spain VISITING: Barcelona, Spain Ajaccio, Corsica Sardinia (Cagliari), Italy Sicily (Palermo), Italy Santorini, Greece Athens (Piraeus), Greece Mykonos, Greece Naples / Capri, Italy Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
  6. When you booked did you pick a time. You have either early or late or anytime. If early or late the time is already fixed and you cant select other times. Early or late it says your table on your sea pass card and which deck. Only if you have any time dining can you select other times. There is no way we would know. Call whomever you booked with if you dont know.
  7. You can send a message on the royal app but not WhatsApp without internet. Kindle if already downloaded doesnt need wifi.
  8. Sept 8. Idk if you get any discount for a virtual balcony, inside, but now that good price for a boardwalk not showing. I'm not booked on wonder in oct. I think I said I'm not cruising until oct so I could do a cruise before then. I'm booked b4b on harmony starting oct 6. I had the 8 day perfect day booked already and asked my TA to make it worth flying to hobby and added 3 legs kind of randomly. The 8 day got up over $1700 pp so X 2 because coco cay special out of texas. I kept it and added a 6 day and 2 of the 7 days. I will know that ship inside out. Wonder was showing cheaper than 8 days on adventure so I clicked. Sept 8 wonder .. virtual balcony or plain inside the deals to me. I'd rather have some view.
  9. I eat pizza so that would work or fish etc. I grew up irish meat and potatoes and just hate pasta. I'm older than you and all the walking worries me too. I hope I can manage to do what kve booked. Lots of steps for sure. That's my worry. I can wish I'd done it at a younger age but didnt feel comfortable doing it while I was taking care of elderly parents for the last over 20 years and now I'm old too. And I havent even started on my ports. A few on my TA and then I added 10 days, lots of ports, 4 in italy, 2 in greece and maybe 1 more. Then 4 nights in rome. May 2025. Excursions just a few have shown up so far. Just booking excursions in rome, hotels in rome, and flight/brightline train. I feel like I better get walking then go outside and it's so hot to get in shape. All those steps. Worried. Reading ... I love how you enjoyed rome so much.
  10. I clicked on wonder seemed like a decent price, within $100 of what I paid for central park over a year ago, for boardwalk balcony, I was kinda interested, not booked until oct. Clicked to see available rooms says that selection isnt available any more. Well darn. Maybe everyone here is also clicking but cant click thru. Wonder balcony cant get below 2k now, but a LOT of interior with virtual balcony for $1696 available. Never had one but price seems kinda ok, matches my old wonder booking a million years ago. Not cheap but in line imo, solo DP340 rate clicked. Dont know if that helps. Wonder 7 days
  11. Interesting. Thanks for the pictures. I dont really like pasta but people tell me I will be able to find other food. I'm booked 4 nights at the Albergo Santa Cliara Hotel which should be close to those same places you walked to like the spanish steps.
  12. I saw that amazon was going to add travel deals to its prime day sales. I didnt bother digging. Thanks.
  13. So you worked much longer than me. I retired many many years younger off and on. Though in a way numbers and stocks are a job as I live off my portfolio. Being a working person for so many years maybe is something you are proud of? Great. Congrats. So to you working in a office so many years you think nit picking others on a message board is important. You knew what the OP meant.
  14. I dont know how long the rules been in place but the faq says carry on only. I remember a time when this was abused and people did give a big tip and the porter took it to hand off to some poor crew who didnt get the tip. I've heard since then they have been enforcing the rules. Idk who knows if you can break the rules and get it checked. Clearly you know what it says to even ask if if you can still do it. If you succeed you can come post you were able? If they say no dont blame us. We are just saying the rules as they are written. Carnival used to allow same as royal cans or bottles and the rules got abused and finally it was changed to just cans. I consider it lucky royal still allows bottles to be carried on. I dont like canned water. Tried it on carnival with a friend and neither of us drank the canned water.
  15. I've called it rcl forever. Let's not nit pick. I use the stock symbol which includes both celebrity and royal. As a stock person it will always be rcl to me.
  16. I pulled up adventure and the cheapest was 6 days almost $1700. Yikes. I got 2 of the 8 days for less on adventure, not a lot less but better ports at least.
  17. This doesnt make sense as in this day and age no cruiseline would give your a refund or future credit. Too bad you didnt get it in writing as it wouldnt happen. It just doesnt happen. They dont give refunds or future credits if you cant board. I'm sorry you had a misunderstanding with whomever you spoke with. I've missed 2 cruises in the last 2 years and ate the cost. Believe me if there was a way my TA would have heard about it. I've said that more than once about carnival. I was on conquest during Ike and pretty upset how they dumped us in new orleans. I had 2 hc adults with me I had to get back to dallas and carnival gave us all 1 call. Great except the other 2 werent able to call. Anyway ... twice I've been very mad how carnival handled issues. Swore never again .. and yet I came back. Never say never. But it's not a top cruiseline for me ... I'm wary. I know in bad situations carnival doesnt do well.
  18. On the other hand I've been in and out and in and out and in. I just put in for out through 2026 booked cruises. It's possible I might sell between now and 2026. Nothing says you have to hold constantly. If rcl keeps going up at some point I might be tempted, depends on the charts and what's going on in my life. I'm a trader in my heart.
  19. Ok both about equally old. I'm doing the TA to europe on voyager and some b2b2b2b on explorer to push to pinnacle. Doing pts as cheaply as possible the bottom line remains the same. Well the TA started out as a inexpensive cruise, then I added a more expensive 10 days because it went to greece. Then I added 4 days in rome. And the flight home air2sea was crazy high and flying into miami after .. it just keeps expanding itself.
  20. Unfortunately there are few pay restaurants on ships that old. Good and bad. Explorer is even older than voyager. Dont judge all rcl ships by explorer, but tbh I too am booked also on explorer for price reasons. Right now I just want to cruise. Everyone says dont push pts, and now especially when prices are high but about when I have explorer booked I should hit pinnacle. Wifi feels like such a waste to pay extra for though I've done it. I hate to br cut off the way others want to drink. We all have our important perks. I admit I booked explorer to push pts. I know what I'm getting into. I'm happy reading a book and watching the wake and eating. A few new ports but getting fewer.
  21. Voyager? I'm on the 10 day that goes to greece twice, but the 7 day after mine is called Greek cruise and ends in athens. Port heavy. If you hit 80 pts diamond you get 4 free drinks a day, easy to hit. For me plenty. .. though I'm pushing for pinnacle for free wifi the whole cruise. Perks on royal loyalty are much better than carnival. Also excursions get discounted as much as 30%, carnival pretty much never. Look for a TA with group rates to save. It's probably a smaller ship or voyager I'd guess. I'll be getting off when you get on perhaps. Check in 45 days ahead to grab a check in time, at midnight ships time. Yes ships time. You have to figure out what time midnight is where the ship leaves from. Each adult can carry on a bottle of wine to tide you over.
  22. Mbayley@rccl.com is the email where you will get answers but you need to present facts. Proof you cancelled. They said you moved people around and therefore didnt cancel. So you obviously need proof you cancelled her and did not replace her. You need a copy of the letter you sent with the proof you cancelled her berth. They seem to be saying before the cruise you reconfigured the cabins.
  23. Did you book say 8 and cruise with 7 and before the cruise you cancelled her and sent to insurance. If you moved someone else into her spot and didnt cancel I can see why there is a problem. Sometimes it's difficult times like this when having a good TA and filing before the cruise might have saved you some headaches. Idk.
  24. Feed the ostriches is on my to do list. I'm hoping rcl carries it. Hasnt shown up so far. I'm on april 2025. I was there last january and missed it. Everyone had a good time.
  25. Ok I agree. I am old enough having young kids didnt occur to me.
