  1. The caviar is being served with iced cold vodka. The band is playing and the Captain is tooting. We on our way down the Hudson on a beautiful clear 49 degrees day. Life is good.
  2. Good morning. Slept in. Last night we dined in the Colonnade (Lido) as the theme was Chinese Food. We had some Dim Sum and Egg Drop Soup for appetizer's and I had a Szechuan Chicken Noodle stir fry. It’s sit down dining with a wonderful wait staff. Nice option. Another option is Earth and Ocean at the Patio. Nice menu but even with ceiling mounted heat lamps it’s too cold for us. Would like to try. Maybe the night we are in Charleston. Tonight we go back to the Grill. We are scheduled to depart at noon today and they are having the Caviar and Champagne Sail Away Party. Looking forward to the sail out in broad daylight. You can watch on PZTV NY Harbor cam. Tonight the singers and dancers are doing Motown so we will definitely be attending their performance. We are glad that we have stepped out of our comfort zone sailing with our beloved Hal. After so many cruises it was still great but becoming routine. We do prefer these smaller ships but we’ll be back on a Dam ship on one of their great itineraries in some future cruises. We have nothing booked beyond our World Cruise in January. Time to get moving. Thanks for the Fleet Report and enjoy Friday and your upcoming weekend. Bruce Woops! On the repeat canal pics.
  3. We enjoyed our tour of USS Intrepid and Museum. Here are some pics of our sail in today. Pictures are a little lighter out then it seemed.
  4. Someone posted these pictures of us sailing through Cape Cod Canal yesterday.
  5. Good morning. It’s 35 degrees outside as we sail into NYC. Believe I will watch from our cabin which at least I will see Lady Liberty. We overnight here so will capture the full surroundings on our early sail away tomorrow afternoon. Last night”s formal dinner was wonderful. We chose the beef which were individual portions. So tender and delicious. Posted the menu’s on yesterday’s Daily and will post some pics this morning. After dinner we enjoyed the ships singer and dancers as they featured Broadway songs of Sir Tim Rice. He is the consultant to entertainment shows on Seabourn. We are going to tour the Intrepid (aircraft carrier) museum this morning and cancelled a later lunch. We have had enough food. Thanks for the reports and have a great day. Bruce PS. The dessert was really good so I guess it wanted to be seen several times and the extras won’t delete! WiFi has been pretty good all trip and we get here and it is off and on.
  6. Yes. Money is no problem to some of these cruisers. The majority are very friendly. We find many of the complimentary wines to be quite acceptable. Bought a couple of wines as we need to use OBC.
  7. True the complimentary wines have been very good. Plus, the complimentary alcohols have been fine.
  8. Tonight’s Formal Night MDR menu. What would choose? Beef or fish. Roy and Sandi we know your choices. 😊
  9. There are two hot tubs aft, two at center pool and the bow. I would use the aft as less wind.
  10. We used points to reduce our card balance
  11. The bow hot tub is for guest. Some folks swimming in pool as it’s heated. It’s getting out that hurts. Presently 48 degrees and raining.
  12. Entering Cape Cod Canal which is 7 miles long. One way to watch transit.
  13. I don’t know the answer to your question but we have had one for years. Paying for the cruise by the card and other purchases adds up. I would say it’s paid back close to $10,000.00 over the years we have used it. Of course there are other cards that can do the same.
  14. Good morning! Well the ships Halloween Party was rocking in the Club and I must say there were some interesting costumes along with some ghoulish drinks being handed out by the bar staff. After our lobster lunch we passed on the Seafood Extravaganza in the Colonnade when we got a call that there was an opening at the Grill. We were on the Wait List. So after a cocktail in the Observation Lounge we went to the Grill only to find the entrance had been blocked off. Turns out a lady had collapsed dining in there and that portion of the restaurant had to be sanitized. We were met and escorted to another entrance and enjoyed another meal in the grill. I had lamb chops and Susan had the Dover Sole. Received word the lady was OK and under observation. Today we are going to sail through the Cape Cod Canal as we sail toward NYC. It’s of particular interest to me as my first assignment in the Air Force was on Cape Code at Otis AFB. It will be of interest to see local landmarks that I have not seen since 1969. Weather is cool and a good chance of showers. So that’s what’s happening on the Quest Thanks for the Reports. Bruce
  15. In Bar Harbor today and paid $38.00 for a lobster. Who would have thought that in Maine? Inflation and demand did! The lines have to make wages attractive enough to retain crew. We are currently on a Seabourn cruise. Price seems high but when cruising is pretty much all inclusive I’ll have to get the calculator out after and do a comparison. Sometimes I would just like to know if the cruise deal we are given that waivers crew gratuities does Hal add the money to the crews gratuities?
  16. As we are back in a cabin and I’m browsing CC it seems I have either missed or @RedneckBob has not posted in a while. Any news? B.
  17. Bar Harbor mission complete. So good. Geddy’s is packed closed for season Nov 20th.
  18. It’s a beautiful clear sunny day here in Bar Harbor and temp will rise to 42F. Emerald Princess has arrived so this just might be the final day of cruise ships visiting Bar Harbor. Could it be the last if city votes to ban cruise ships? Still awaiting our time for Customs. Distant hills still show some color but definitely past peak. Lobsters at 11:00 AM.
  19. Good morning from Baaar Harbor. It’s 35 degrees outside. We’ll have to Clear Customs onboard this morning which is scheduled to start approximately at 7:50. Our game plan is tender in around noon for a lobster lunch. Originally was going to to a favorite West Street Cafe but they are closing for the season tomorrow and thought they might be cleaning out their fridges. So we are going to Geddy’s. The ship is having another seafood fest in the Colonade (Lido). Two of our guest entertainers performed again last night. They are both star quality performers. The male vocalist and actor played the Beast as in Beauty and the Beast for 600 performances in Mexico City. The female vocalist with 45 minutes rehearsal between them performed the duet from Beauty and Beast. Fantastic. Just heard the anchor being set so need to get ready and in need of coffee. Thanks for the reports.
  20. Good morning. Our dinner at the Grill was superb. Started off with a crudite of celery, radish and carrots. Followed by an ice cold salad with bleu cheese dressing. Then a cup of consommé beef broth. The USDA Prime beef was cooked to perfection (Pittsburgh Style) by my request. Followed by a seven layer coconut cake that was so lite and fluffy. A delicious meal topped off with an Irish Coffee. Without a doubt the best steak I have ever had at sea and possibly land for that matter. We then went to the Grand Salon and watched the singers, dancers put on an outstanding show entitled The King, Queen and Prince. Songs of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Prince. This high energy show was over the top good. We are tendering today in Shelburne, Nova Scotia and with a 90% chance of rain we are debating whether to just stay onboard. Time to go get some of the wonderful freshly roasted coffee. Thanks to all and enjoy your week. Bruce
  21. Yes and he got up and did a duet with her. She returns tomorrow night. Fantastic performer. Journey Live is her new album.
