  1. It is an extra year of inflation for them to factor in. 2025 looked dearer when we booked it than it does today.
  2. Bugger. Get well & out of ISO soon. I am curious if you have had a recent booster, and whether we are going to benefit from a boost before our next cruise.
  3. Not that Barb is a massive fan of escargot, but that would be tricky. She has a pretty severe allergy to most varieties of mushrooms. We are both clear not to order snails on Princess. I'm OK with that, as I dislike mushrooms and escargot anyway.
  4. If the site is Trip Advisor, it would be fine to link, as they are part of the same company as cruisecritic. Not publicising is fine, but taking bookings for that timeframe would be a bit Qantas like. It is also the sort of thing at present that they won't have full control over anyway, as any building trades would be engaged on a very approximate time frame.
  5. I would agree. Get your hotel to organise two taxis for you, one being a maxi taxi. That would be around the right size for 7 plus luggage, and you should be getting change out of $100. PS: If you want a chauffeured limo, but just cheaper than you booked, if seems to be a reasonable rate.
  6. That is normal. Through the hotel booking sites, you can pre-book and pay and get a discounted price. It was much more popular pre-pandemic, when people found out what non-refundable really means when you book that way. I think that is what I miss the most from those pre-pandemic days - the Trivago girl not being on TV.anymore 😂
  7. I understand there will be renos rolling for a period of time, which are very much needed. I haven't heard anything about them closing to do this, and it would be rare to shut down the whole hotel for an extended period.
  8. Same here. The T&C's are a bit jumbled, but I can't see anything around the drinks package that would suggest that you are paying overs. NCL does do something weird with local taxes though. It started on cruises in the EU where certain countries charge VAT, many of the cruise ships add that charge as required by law. On our NCL Aussie cruise, we were charged GST on top of our drinks while we were in port in Sydney. I don't know if that was a tangled-up arrangement, or if they are actually liable for the tax. This is now around 5 years ago, and I have no idea on what the T&C's of today are.
  9. We have enjoyed a couple of cruises on NCL. One attraction was that we often travel with a group of friends, and NCL handle groups well. We also liked the pub lunches at O'Sheehan's, with grilled sandwiches, chips, on-tap beers and sports screens. I don't know if that is a feature of Sun though. Rather than seeing discounts, you are more likely to see bonus inclusions when they have a promotion - internet, drinks package, grats included, specialty dining, shore tour credits etc.
  10. When the postie drove past our letter box, the saying from the generations before was the proverb - no news is good news.
  11. I can't see it in any of the other Brisbane ports through to the end of 2027. Alas, Royal only shows this coming season of visits in the shipping movement pages, while Carnival has bookings showing into 2027. This is how I usually find the extra details, but Royal is playing hard to get.
  12. Some people just read until they want to get something off their chest. Others like to ramble on with gibberish regularly. 🤪 I doubt there would be a plant. Royal learned their lesson when the "champions" program backfired 15 odd years back. Those numbers are also possible for a "spare" ID of a regular poster, but you can only read comments at face value.
  13. Carnival is different to most. As mentioned somewhat already, their suites don't have much in the way of perks - just priority boarding, priority restaurant bookings and not much more. Carnival suites are cheaper than most because of this, as you are mostly paying extra for the bigger bit of real estate. If you were after a cloud 9 suite, no doubt you would already have booked a cloud 9 balcony. There is more change cloud 9 suite upgrades would be offered to those booked in a cloud 9 balcony. Also be aware, the offer may only be for a Junior suite, which Carnival lists a one of their suite categories.
  14. I can only guess on the itineraries for Alaska & Australia, as the ships are largely based between the two regions. The Alaskan season for 2025 was announced in August, so it could be a bit of a wait for 2026 dates. I don't take a lot of notice for the other regions, except to note the releases are phased through the year.
  15. I haven't mentioned it, as the prices have shot up and there are at least 1/2 dozen places I would rather stay, all with easy access to OPT.
  16. We love this place. Do you have a harbourview room or garden room? The Marriot has always been around 1/2 the price of a Quay Grand Harbourview room. I am not sure if anyone ever stays at the Park Hyatt - pretty much the dearest rooms in Australia.
  17. Not necessarily. Majestic would have held the booking for Mystery Island. One of the other ships that lost Mare/IOP may have Port Vila on their itinerary already and wanted Mystery Island as an alternate. Bit of a jigsaw puzzle with less ports to go around the number of ships.
  18. The attachments thing is something that hasn't been activated for this forum - perhaps they don't trust us. I have successfully added then to the Princess board. Plenty here will know where I have sourced them from, but I would prefer not to add the links and risk them locking the door. You can find them here:
  19. I have the app and am looking forward to checking in soon. Seems to be the aft restaurant requires a deck juggle, but that has been the same for a few princess ships and was awkward to navigate on Pacific Sun. We have sprung for a suite, as they were as cheap as buggery when we booked through all that cancellation stuff. That should give us quicker access to our cards. We have early fixed at this stage, but also including 2 x steakhouse meals. I am looking forward to a loose & relaxed cruise.
  20. Hopefully these attach OK, as that function doesn't work in our little Aussie/New Zealand area. I am also looking at the Discovery relocation, but would have preferred not to have the extra doubling-up of ports either side of Singapore. As much as we would like to do Alaska again, it looks like Singapore to Sydney for us. AU25-2626RWCAUDStandardFaresasat13Nov.pdf Mini-Brochure_25-26_AU_3.0.pdf
  21. Bordeaux dining room. The seating is on the starboard side of the dining room, but I don't recall if they had a separate entry point.
  22. Elites - 29th November, 9am (Sydney time) Everyone else 30th November, (9am Sydney time) And lets see if these attachments work on this forum: AU25-2626RWCAUDStandardFaresasat13Nov.pdf Mini-Brochure_25-26_AU_3.0.pdf
