    Unbelievable!

But how did you confirm the truth of that story? Since you mention it.

The sexual remark he made to your 13 yr old is absolutely NOT right and you did the right thing by not staying quiet and reporting it. But what monetary compensation is even close to adequate for that kind of behavior. Termination of employment, Suspension for good from employment by any cruise line in the world, etc etc definitely, but monetary compensation, FCC, no, I do not believe those were needed. And don't get this wrong please.

Are you still patronizing the cruise line?

Sending the child concerned some big hugs, and lots of love.

I don't know if his story was true but him telling us is definitely true. We didn't ask for compensation. We  reported him and had him removed form our suite. It was RC and yes we still cruise with them quite frequently as they handled the situation very well on board but I still feel that corporate dropped the ball. Francois, our concierge, was outstanding and went out of his way to make our trip wonderful despite the attendant. We took the lead from our kids and have cruised regularly since the incident in 2008.

Yikes , hope he got fired , did you follow up with rccl .

I hope so but it was his last week of his contract and told us he wasn't renewing. He told us his wife had to go back into prostitution while he was gone. Unbelievable , but very true story. We did follow up with a letter to the CEO and got a very generic apology email.

I always thought rccl will listen to complaints, we had a grand suite on a Mediterranean cruise 6 years ago , had a issue with toilet not flushing in the morning a couple of times . Concierge shocked us on last day when we were sitting in concierge lounge and gave us a 700 credit towards a future cruise.

just started reading a Bosch book , I knew that author also wrote the Lincoln lawyer books , but was extremely surprised that book sailed Bosch was half brother to the Lincoln lawyer.

We had a suite attendant that made sexual comments towards our 13 year old daughters so I complained to our concierge. He was replaced but we didn't get any compensation.

    And the great news.

In 2021 I presented my DH with his dream gift of front row seats to see Jimmy Buffet in concert. He talked about it for years.

When  this thread was in its infancy over 60,000 posts ago I had mentioned that we had first row seats in Pittsburgh to see Jimmy Buffet’s concert. Then COVID hit.  We were canceled.

    But

We took the option to keep our seats for the concert in 2021. I mean to have first row.

Well,  DD decided to make that her wedding weekend and reluctantly we were going to be putting up our seats for sale.

    Then

The concert was canceled by them and we got a full refund.

    Now to the present.

We will be in Cincinnati next month with the DD and SIL To see Buffet’s concert.

Initially it was just going to be my DH and them. I hate lawn seats.  But somehow he was able to get 4 seats close to the stage in the Pavilion. I do not know who is happiest. Him or me.

So me with my ear plugs ( can’t stand ear drum breaking loud music) and DH with the biggest smile. We will be with the kids.

Also on the agenda will be going to

    Jungle Jim’s

    and

    The Party Store.

    Cheers.

    @Ozark_Kid

    Put the lid on it.

I love Jimmy Buffet. My first concert was the Eagles and Buffet opened for them in 1978 at UF.

Speaking of the "Campfire Cookie". On our recent "Mariner" cruise they didn't have any "MARSHMALLOWS". Oh the tragedy!!! One person got smart and when the got off the ship they bought some in port and had them make it using there own.

Same thing happened to us on Symphony in Feb. That forced me to book another cruise.

Well, the Rangers trip to Tampa was a bust, losing 2 games in a row. One of them in heart breaking fashion.  But I had a blast attending the games & exploring the city with my stepdaughter & her friends. Met some great people & plan on coming back.

Had one of the best Pastrami sandwiches in a long time. In a British pub no less!! Who says you can only get good Pastrami from a NYC Jewish deli?

Where did you get that sandwich?

    Congrats. It’s not easy.

I keep up with his thread and his reviews. There are certain things about Virgin that I would like and others that I probably wouldn’t like. We plan on event giving it a try someday. I’m surprised they don’t have the UDP, but I think that’s good for some people. I’m sure it keeps the number of drunks down.

@dani negreanu So sorry to hear about your Captain Kate story. It’s sad that people don’t have better things to do.

I just booked Virgin for August.

Long time no visit…I haven’t caught up on anything here in a while so hope all are well.

Nate, Sam, and I are officially Floridians. We arrived Monday after a practically straight drive from CO. The week has been packed with setting everything up, changing fixtures and hardware, ordering furniture, etc. wifi was supposed to be installed Thursday, but of course that’s not done yet. Nate’s been going to

Buffalo Wild Wings most nights for hockey. 🤣

Try "Night Sky"  My wife and I just watched the 1st-  2 episodes.   Sissy Spacek & JK Simmons. It's different then Ozarks but still  very interesting. So far no one has been killed. 🤣

Seems there is only 1 season and 8 episodes so far. Not sure if there will be more or not.

Thanks, we'll try it. We started watch The Lincoln Lawyer. My husband is liking it but I'm not sold on it yet.

God has gained another Angel.  Baby Genevieve passed away last night.  Thank you all for your beautiful thoughts and prayers.  She is now at peace.  My cousin posted a picture of baby Ginny without any of the tubes that have been attached to this poor baby since birth 7 months ago.  My heart is broken for them all.  Thank you again.❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss.

    Wedding Budget,  Whats that?

Roughly 18 months ago I put  my foot down and set a budget for the DD's wedding trying to model after our wedding which we had to pay for ourselves.  (8 months pre planning and the wedding was 10 months ago).

Now I realized prices increased in the past 30 years, so I was realistic with my cost estimates.

    Until:

The wedding gown became Bride magazine dress of the year

The DJ became a DJ plus Band (Yup they toured the US).

The florist had to hire help to get all the arrangements done in time

The buffet became a sit down dinner (Ty COVID)

The Limo size was needed for the 18 passengers.

The fireworks had to be monitored by a pyrotechnic assistant (what fireworks????)

Appetizers yup  (How much are lamb chops!)

The cookie table had to be individually trayed and brought by  us.

    5 hour open bar...(hiccup)

Wedding day luncheon,  after breakfast brunch had to be planned and paid for ( I gotta feed them!) as well as the 80 guest who stayed at the hotel.

    And

Then the mother of the groom should have put a feeding bag on the way she annihilated the food, after all she was a guest and did not pay anything towards the whole wedding weekend, but smoked away).

OH, and when my DH goes I am not getting her wedding jewelry since we are paying for the wedding,     as he puts the diamond bangle wristlet on her at the first look.

And just a few weeks ago he finally asks me, did you ever total up the cost of the wedding.

(He knows I am a bean counter and have every receipt including the Tylenol and Tums  I bought to plan this wedding).

I go.................................It is in the brief case  and I havent gotten around to it,

If he only knew...............................................If only he knew.

Our daughters Bat Mitzvah was 14 years ago and my husband still doesn't know how much it cost. Somethings are better left unsaid.

My distant cousin's granddaughter Genevieve (baby Ginny) was born prematurely with a heart defect as well as another medical problem 6 months ago and has been living in CHOPs (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) since birth.  Recently, they found out that she has Noroblastoma, and has so far been given two rounds of Chemo.  Ginny is scheduled for her heart surgery tomorrow morning.  Prayers for her successful surgery are most welcome.🙏

ps...CHOPs is where baby Kennedy was treated.  His mom posted a picture last month.  He is beautiful!

Prayers for Ginny and her family. One of my daughter works in a children's hospital as a Child Life Specialist and her twin is an Oncology nurse. They have both said, in the past, that they send patients to CHOPs because it is one of the best in the country.

Thank you to all replied. I’ve cruised many times and understand nothing is guaranteed. I just thought that as passengers are booking aqua theatre suites, at a good expense,  if the show won’t be performing, we’d be notified. I’m just upset because my dad is so disappointed. Otherwise the ship is beautiful and I’m trying to keep pointing out all the many positives.  Take care.

Do you have a Genie? Maybe they can come up with something else that your dad would enjoy.

    Very cool art!

I got a part time job, 2 days a week, receptionist in a Memory Care facility.  As difficult as it is to see people in the condition they are in now, I know they're in a caring, safe environment.  I don't have much interaction with the residents but when I do, I smile, say hello, ask how they are. Sadly, although some can't answer, they do seem appreciative.  A pat on the shoulder and a smile goes a long way.

One lovely man is at the beginning stages of dementia.  Unfortunately, he knows how he will eventually wind up. I told him to come talk to me whenever he wants, since he enjoys our chats.  He loves hearing about NY!  I told him he must be a great dad hearing his phone conversations with his son.

Dementia/Alzheimer's, Cancer.  Wish they could be permanently eradicated.

Sorry to bring a "downer" post in here this bright beautiful morning.  I rarely do so please forgive me.  Call your parents if you are blessed to still have them and tell them how much you love them.

On to happy things.  @Lionesss Will your daughter and SIL have a gender reveal?

My dogs are therapy dogs and before covid we made a lot of visits to hospitals, schools and nursing homes. One in particular was a memory care center. The dogs loved getting pets from everyone as they went from resident to resident, except my dog Howie. He gravitated to a woman that had been a dog trainer. He sat with her the entire time and she would bury her face into his thick fur. This went on for years, they were a team. The resident didn't remember people but she never forgot a dog. She died and Howie looked for her every time we went and then pouted. It was heartbreaking so now he visits other places.
