  1. Strange. I got my civil service approval back in 2 hours last month.
  2. Actually....there are other copies of the deck plans out there which have it listed with the single •. https://www.talkingcruise.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Mardi-Gras-Deck-Plans.pdf
  3. Interesting. I checked the deck plans and it was the only balcony I found on the entire ship with that designation. Strange though is the Carnival description doesn't mention it. I think it is a typo, it will have one upper and a sofa bed like the other balconies which are designated with one •. 12312 Balcony (8E) 205/44 = 249 square feet Beds: two twin beds (convert to king)-single sofa bed-one upperView: window and balconyBathroom: shower, toilet, sinkFeatures: flat-screen TV, telephone, 110 AC current, USB outlets, individual climate control, hair dryer, safe, non-stocked mini bar unit, 2-closets, desk and ottoman seat, sofaBalcony Features: 2 patio chairs and table / balcony partition opens to: 12308 and 12316
  4. If you didn't like Carnival pre-Covid you certainly won't like them now. Certainly nothing has improved since then.
  5. Yes....the social media plan will give you access to FB Messenger. Just put your phone on airplane mode to disconnect from the cellular connection and re-enable wifi.
  6. It depends on the sailing. Disembarking can be delayed for any number of reasons for a few minutes to a couple of hours.
  7. Reefer madness🙄 No....it is Carnival finally taking a stand to stop the behavior that is trashing their reputation even more than it already was. The series of sternly issued warnings didn't have an impact, maybe this will. The problem isn't isolated to the weed, the weed is just an obvious identifier of the type of clientele who believe the laws and cruise ship policies don't apply to them and that is where this larger wave of problems is coming from.
  8. Verifly and anything COVID in general are long gone.
  9. The is normally no cell coverage on inside cabins in my experience, it is basically a faraday cage.
  10. I really like the Spirit. It is a huge upgrade for Mobile who traditionally had the worst ship in the fleet.
  11. Carnival is a risky investment right now. Only you can decide if laying out $900 is worth it to try for a small OBC. Bottom line, CCL is $34B in debt and still have not found a way to not lose millions a day. I don't expect the financials Tuesday to change that. Their debt load is crippling.
  12. If it is already showing sold out I would assume you are drastically overestimating the amount of cabins that were available when you started looking even if it was months ago. Carnival knows they can get more $$$ by allowing people to pick their cabins, if they have the inventory to do so while still having a cushion to managing existing bookings they will do so.

  14. This has nothing to do with criminal acts in a foreign country, this is a death investigation of a US citizen that the FBI is exercising jurisdiction under Special Maritime and Territorial Jurisdiction codified in 18 U.S.C. Bottom line is the FBI has already proven this to the courts because the first step in applying for a search warrant is showing the court they have jurisdiction over the specific place to be searched. When that happens your Constitutional rights are as much of an issue as they are in the middle of Nebraska.
  15. It isn't Georgia law, it is the Constitution of the United States. If the FBI is investigating and have obtained a search warrant then they have shown cause they have some sort of jurisdiction in the matter. They have the same Constitutional restraints as any other law enforcement officer.
  16. Well at least in the great state of GA for a consent search to be valid is must be voluntary, uncoerced and able to be revoked at any time. A video chat checking those boxes is likely to be a point of contention in court down the road if that is the route it goes. It would be much easier to just obtain the warrant.
  17. No one has ruled this a 'natural death'. Second, the decedent's husband is no longer on the ship as he disembarked in the Bahamas so he is no longer in a position to give consent. Finally, the deceased may no longer have 4th Amendment rights but the spouse certainly does.
  18. St. Greg has pretty much everything on his website. Here are the menus from a recent cruise on the Celebration which will be representative of what you will see across the fleet. https://www.saintgregtravel.com/celebration-mdr-menus/
  19. True, but probable cause is a fairly low standard. Something as simple as an unexplained death of a younger adult combined with other factors which could be as simple as an argument between the two prior to the death can lead a judge to authorizing a search for evidence. A search warrant will list objectively suspicious activities that a reasonable person could conclude indicates a crime took place.
  20. Sorry....I would refuse to put a deposit on a waitlist scenario.
  21. Correct.....a search warrant is always the best choice. As long as there are personal belongings in the cabin it would be a 4th amendment issue if a search was conducted based solely on consent from Carnival.
  22. Stock will never see $30 until the debt load is no where near $34B and they manage to quit losing additional millions per day.
  23. Yikes. When you see them side by side it is obvious.
  24. I see no way the two could be related.
  25. Say what you want but something isn't adding up. They have cut service in half for the customer which freed up the stewards to basically handle twice as many cabins. They did this while raising the gratuity even though the service is halved. That is a lot of extra gratuity out there for far fewer workers. Where is it going?
