How many hot dogs does one plan on eating?
-
I had a great time back in June. If it is your mom's first cruise this will be her first ship experience so there will be plenty for her to take in.
-
I always try to find a happy medium which for us is usually the 3 night package. We still enjoy the food in the main dining room so I see no need in paying for an upgrade for the majority of the nights. The 3 night lets us enjoy our favorite specialty restaurants without needlessly running up the budget.

Not helpful. At all.
Whaaa?
It was spot on.

I was on this ship! It was our first cruise, we were disappointed. The food was only adequate, not as we expected! The room smelled like wet mold. We had no idea what was going on until they made an announcement about an hour before docking in Mobile. The captain got on the intercom, said there was a medical emergency with one of the passengers and we had to return to Mobile. He stated our options in getting off and receiving a full refund or staying on and cruising the mobile bay and receiving 50% off. We chose to get off! We live an hour from Mobile, so it was useless to stay On! We heard rumors of a woman stabbing her husband, but we were never told this. Of course, Carnival will not leak that information, because they did not handle the situation properly if so!! We were not kept safe, we were allowed to roam around the boat, we were able to leaved the boat without being questioned. To me, that's like letting people leave the scene. If this indeed happened, this foolish person intentionally ruined a cruise for about 2000 people!!!! That infuriates me!! It was just a bad overall experience and I won't be cruising with Carnival again!
I have seen my share of overly dramatic posts on here over the years....but congrats....you take the award for the month of August.:champagne-toast::bottle-pop::beer-toast:

It sounds like you would have to be wasted every day to get your moneys worth lol not good when bringing your kids .
LOL....your husband is a 'drinker' and you are put off by the thought of 6 drinks daily?
-
As above....a vodka and OJ is the same cost as a shot of vodka.
-
16.....and unlike some of the above I have been asked for photo ID many times and they compare the name on it to the S&S card.
-
You are missing a lot. You are no where close to being correct.

OMG.
I usually pack 2 IV kits along with 3 units of O- blood. It fits nicely below my surgical kit. You can never be too careful ya know.
-
LOL...people make packing so complicated. I simply take what I need for the trip and put it in my suitcase. No special bags, cubes or gold lined bags needed. I may roll any dress pants or shirts to minimize wrinkles but that is as extravagant as I get.

Filling them out in line gives the most current answers over a form that may have been filled out weeks ago. It takes 30 seconds max.

The only way is a portable vault for the important things that you can lock to a chair or some other immovable object. For the rest such as towels and such we usually hope for the best.
-
Yes....they are slightly bigger on average. An inside runs around 135 and the OV is around 161.
-
But don't forget, the condo is per night, the cruise is per person.
Obviously. Most of the cruises I take are still less than that. The next one works out to 85pp per night. Also, every other expense such as 3 meals a day of food and entertainment will also be per person. That can easily add another $75 - $100pp in my experience.

Special procedure is eat when you are hungry instead of a time when someone wants you to show up. It's great.

And to all those who are saying it's a safety hazard, this was a question posed by John Heald this week and he was going to be submitting the responses to the beards, so they must be at least considering it as a possibility!
Yes....other lines do it every day.

It's just as fast to run down to the self serve area of the coffee shop for a free cup and bring it up to sip on the balcony. Or just order room service.
Faster than pressing a button?
As someone who has had coffee makers on numerous NCL cruises I would have to disagree. To get up in the morning, press the button and have a cup of coffee to take on the balcony by the time I get out of the bathroom was without question a bonus.
-
Prices have been trending up but so has everything else. My last trip to one of the top FL beaches cost me $180 a night for the condo plus out of pocket for all food and activities making a cruise seem a bargain.
-
Yup....none. They are divided for good reason.
-
It is well worth it in my opinion, not solely due to the financial aspect but from the value it adds to my vacation by freeing up worries about budget. If I want something, from specialty coffee in the morning, milkshakes after lunch and all drinks throughout the day can be enjoyed with no concern over budget.

Think of the cost factor alone. I counted 25 ships in the fleet. Assuming 800 rooms per ship and a cost of $20 per coffee maker, you are looking at $400,000. Plus you then have to factor in extras for ones that break. The steward would have to ensure they are kept clean. The coffee supplies in each room. Cost wise there is no upside for them to do it. None. It won't attract new passengers. It takes up valuable counter and plug space in the cabins. I for one sure as heck don't want it. ( By the way, my calculations were pure guesswork and it could be higher or lower than that but I hope you get my point)
$400k is a rounding error when it comes to adding something such as appliances fleet wide.

I do not remember seeing relish on the tables, just mustard and ketchup. I am sure it is available when the grill buffet is open during the day but I don't recall seeing it any other time.
