Holds are gone online. When talking to my PVP, apparently they are allowed to place a hold but only until end of business day. Sounds like that option might be going away for them too.

@Bimmer09 That is the worst looking Monte Cristo sandwich I have ever seen!

Typically, your Medallion will be used on both legs of a B2B.
Since your status will change for the second cruise, I suggest touching base with the Loyalty/Events officer during the first cruise to be sure you get your perks! The Passenger Services Desk should be able to change your Medallions. Some say it’s a matter of putting an Elite sticker over the Platinum one.

Personally I can only use one device at a time. I guess I don’t multi task as well as I used to since I retired. LOL
You got your @memoak back!! 👏👏👏

You can definitely order “off menu” - my husband is a big fan of the James Beard French Toast and Eggs Benedict are also available any time. You can also order an omelette with any ingredients similar to the buffet.

A note about laundry. We did it today for the first time and it went fine. $3 each for wash and dry, take pods or laundry sheets to avoid the extra 1.50 cost of detergent.
We are on deck 10, but it is actually closer for us to go down to deck 9 for laundry. And, there are twice as many machines there. So, know your closest laundry room 😀
Thanks for the info! We sail round trip LA-Hawaii-South Pacific and our cabin is on Deck 10. Good to know there are more machines on Deck 9.

How do people manage to eat a full MDR lunch menu and still have room for a full meal in the evening? I have tried it a couple of times and failed miserably so I don't have lunch in the MDR. I'll just have a slice of pizza or a burger from Salty Sea Dog or a sandwich or snack from IC.
No criticism of those that can... enjoy!
We prefer to eat larger meals earlier in the day. Then, we eat lighter at dinner time. It’s great we all have options!

I’m not Bob, but I just asked the Beverage manager on the Sapphire and he said, no.
They carry diet coke caffeine free or Sprite zero.
That’s the normal on the ship.
Sometimes, a ship may get different sodas in a port when they pick up supplies.
Thanks for the response! Guess we will be BYO!

What items are on the menu for MDR lunch on embarkation day?
I don’t remember the entire menu because I always have:
Avocado Bay Shrimp starter
Salmon entree
Soufflé for dessert
My husband enjoys the Beef Medallions
I’m sure many more will chime in!
MDR embarkation lunch is my “We are cruising again!” moment!

@Woobstr112G - we have so enjoyed your Live from the Sapphire! We will be boarding in April for a 32-day RT LA to Hawaii and the South Pacific. Our first time for the Sapphire and we can’t wait!
If it’s not a bother, can you check to see if Coke Zero is available? Some cruisers are reporting mixed results depending on the ship. We usually bring some for DH when we board and replenish at ports. Since our 32 days include 22 Sea Days, finding Coke Zero in port might be a challenge 😁
Enjoy the rest of your cruise and all the best to you and Holli! ⚓️🛳️🛟🚢🪝

Today my wife went to Passenger Services here on Grand Princess and inquired about free laundry tokens. They said nope, nope, nope. No such thing as free laundry tokens. We currently have a load in the washer but it definitely wasn't "free".
Gotta love the consistent inconsistency of Princess 😠
Why, oh why can’t passengers expect the same experience fleetwide?
We had to push to get the free tokens on the same ship on a single cruise!!

Yay!! I mentioned this on our survey! I agree with @Ombud - great news for DIY excursions!!

It's always a guessing game whether the ship will be able to dock in Costa Maya because of the strong winds. We were onboard the Sky Princess February 2023 and were to have 2 stops at Costa Maya over the 3 weeks and we never made it there either time.
I have heard that’s why they nicknamed it “Costa Maybe” 😂

I, too, wondered if this rumor was true. On our recent B2B on Island Princess, I went to Passenger Services during our first cruise and got tokens with no problem. On the second cruise I returned to Passenger Services and requested the tokens. I mentioned that they were free but was told, “We don’t do that.” I pressed that it was done on our first cruise and the lady relented and gave me tokens but couldn’t resist reminding me it was against policy.
As usual, counting on consistency with Princess is not possible.

@Steelers36 you missed the aka Sheldon Cooper post script. I apologize for putting you on the defense.
At this point, I will "check back" just before my next cruise. For sure, there will be many alterations to these policies. In a month, I expect a 2.6.18 revision. (aka Sheldon Cooper)
And, as we all aware, any experience on a specific ship will not mean the same experience on another ship.
To me, that is one of Princess’s problems. If only they could give every passenger on every ship the same level of service and policy! But, they seem content to be consistently inconsistent!

I have used the lanyard, the silicone band from Princess, the silver bracelet from Princess (can’t wear it as it seemed to fit fine but is small and difficult to snap closed) and for our most recent cruise found these thanks to a recommendation here on CC. It attached easily to my Apple Watch band and I loved it! My husband, not so much. He stuck with the silicone one.

That’s awesome! I absolutely love the Sapphire. It has the complete wrap around promenade with cushioned loungers.
It just feels like “ home” on that ship for me.
I was on her last September for 10 days and it was great.
Have a great cruise! We are excited! The full promenade was a definite selling point!

We are doing a 32 day (22 sea days) in April, 2024 on the Sapphire and looking forward to it! Haven’t been on that ship yet.

Thank you! I tested positive for COVID the last night on the ship. Have started Paxlovid. Need to fly back to Mom ASAP but can’t with COVID. It’s a bit of a mess. But the cruise was great!
Hope you recover quickly and completely! And prayers for Mom too!

@Mike45LC my upgrade to Premier includes reserved seating so while those may not be less crowded, I won't be fighting for a seat. Thanks for pointing out additional value I'm getting!
Glad it works for you! Just remember that the reserved seating is only for Production shows, not every event in the theatre.

Just off Island Princess and port guides were only available on the app and we had no way to print them😕

@MustangGT , @Rick&Jeannie posted a pub lunch representative menu - they altered slightly from lunch to lunch - it would be posted in the patter (not under dining room hours) - and similarly for 'Alfredos' - whatever times were posted, they actually seated folks at least a half hour before that. It would only be on non-port days so depending on your 28 day itinerary there might have been one or two.
Yes, they did have the Pub Lunch in the MDR on one of our sea days. We had at least 9 sea days over the 28 days and we only saw it once. No biggie! 😂

We have always traveled with Meclizine just in case but rarely use it.
On our last cruises - Baltics and Iceland, I also took a Relief Band and was so glad I did!
Some rough waters in the North Sea made me glad I had it!
Where are you cruising? We’ve always had smooth sailing in the Caribbean if that’s where you are headed.
Enjoy your cruise! 🛳️🛟⚓️🚢
