You sailed a family ship during a holiday sailing, lots of kids are to be expected. As far as someone on top of the sculpture in The Via, I have sailed Anthem many times and have NEVER seen anyone on that sculpture. I have seen kids standing on the base of it for pictures as that is one of the picture spots that the cruise line photographer sets up but never on the sculpture. Please share a picture of what you saw. Icon does not seem like a ship you should book if you don't want excited kids on a ship. Lots of others to choose from.

Horseshoe Bay beach excursion
reallyitsmema replied to karen1821's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Don't waste your money on an excursion, use the vans. There are lots waiting and leave as they fill up. At the beach, there are lots waiting to go back to the ship too. We have used them many times. -
RCL Coffee Cards: Beware FALSE ADVERTISING!
reallyitsmema replied to 70KToM's topic in Royal Caribbean International
No, an irish coffee is not included because it contains alcohol. The coffee card only covers specialty coffees that contain no alcohol. -
Ewww. I choose not to harbor the growth of bacteria in a wet towel. You do what works for you and I will do what works for me.

As long as they leave more than one set of towels per person, I have no issue with this.

You can both get a 100% refund if you don't sail per the current guidelines. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-i-test-positive-for-sars-cov-2-what-is-your-refund-policy-and-costs-covered As far as fudging an insurance claim, I wouldn't suggest committing insurance fraud. Whether your flight is covered or not depends on the insurance policy you purchased. If you bought cruiseline insurance, it does not cover airfare booked independently.

We have requested a shower stool in the past and it will fit in the shower. It does not have a back or arms, but worked fine for someone to sit on and use the handheld shower to bath. We requested one when we made our reservation and it was not in the cabin but the cabin steward was able to bring us one. There is not charge.

Quantum of the Seas Loses a Lifeboat

It was sailing full capacity when I sailed it earlier this year. -
Rehab is definitely the place for her right now. Get her back on her feet, if possible and go from there. With all that skilled nursing, assisted living would not take her without paying for a private nurse. We have looked at places that included independent living, assisted living and memory care so it is an easier transition from one unit to another instead of having to go to a whole new facility. A beauty shop was one of my aunt's favorite thing. She had her hair done every week and they did mini manicures too. We also put my aunt with a doctor who came to the facility for appointments, including physicals. Made it so much easier, especially in our winters. Enjoy your cruise.

It sounds like you have your mother someplace safe and this will allow you to take your cruise and relax. It will be good for her to have a "test run" at someplace and see how her anxiety level decreases with more interaction with people each day. This will also give you a chance to look at all the options that exist and whether she needs memory care vs assisted living. We had my aunt in assisted living and then moved to memory care in the same facility. Memory care is more expensive as there is more staff. We have been looking at independent living places for my Mom and what is included in the price differs greatly from facility to facility. That $800 medicine number you quoted is the highest I have seen though. I know it was included in the monthly fee for my aunt in both units she was in and I have seen around $200-300 additional for independent living. Laundry and bathing assistance are also things you should make sure are covered or find the cost. Buy in vs tenant at will is a huge thing too. My aunt was a tenant at will who only needed to give a months notice, no buy in, only an application fee. Where my Mom will likely go has a $50K buy in but is refunded when they are no longer at the facility. My siblings have inlaws in assisted living that had buy ins of $300K and $1 million 😱 per couple. Granted, one is in a fancy, brand new facility in a very upper class suburb of Boston, but still! Enjoy your cruise knowing your Mom is safe and figure out the rest of it when you get home.
