  1. WOW. The other poster is also on your sailing, so of course they are impacted. Whatever cabin they have booked is their business. Someone in an interior cabin has the same right to be upset as someone in a suite!
  2. You won't know exactly what you are getting until you board the ship. The cruise line has told you that you can cancel for a FCC or you can sail and they will give OBC for the day you are missing and all the other expenses you have incurred associated to that day. I would expect a letter at boarding or in your cabin with other details.
  3. Royal Caribbean has always had IT challenges and Black Friday sales overwhelmed their website. Refunds can take 7 to 10 days to post to your credit card. As far as protocols, they do have protocols to handle a medical emergency, that is why they turned the ship around and took the passenger to Puerto RIco. Unfortunately, that was a significant deviation to their schedule and they are delayed getting into Port Canaveral. They needed time to coordinate all the resources that are needed to receive the ship in port, offload passengers, provision and then load passengers for the next sailing. They made the decision to come in Monday morning, instead of coming in late Sunday night. They have somewhere in the vicinity of 12,000 passengers that they decided didn't need to be getting on or off a ship late on a Sunday. Notifying the approx. 6,000 waiting to board to wait until Monday, prevented those passengers from being in limbo all day Sunday. At least now, they can stay home and come in on Monday or make other hotel arrangements for Sunday, if they have travelled a distance. Those on the ship are not going to be scrambling to find a hotel to stay Sunday or have to hang in the airport overnight. Telling them they can get off very early Monday actually gives people who have to get home to jobs or other responsibilities the ability to schedule a very early flight out on Monday. Yes, things have not been handled perfectly but they are juggling a lot of balls right now, trying to get everything coordinated.

  5. You do not know what is going to happen on Sunday. The cruise line could be trying to make arrangements for the passengers that are supposed to sail on Sunday.
  6. I saw a couple of large tables in Chops on Oasis last month. Both tables were at least 10 people.
  7. She is encountering the same mess in the corridor as @DaKahunawhen she goes into the cabin corridor, neither one of them belongs in that area until it is opened. SMH at the amount of cruise line rules a person ignores and publicly admits.
  8. We would also recommend booking with Glacier Wind. They are a small, family run company with two boats, one that seats 6 and the other 13. We have gone with them twice in the past and would not hesitate to use them again. They have their own van which picks you up at the excursion hub and takes you directly to the dock in Hoonah. We saw lots of whales the two times we went with them. They were really good at adapting to a late arrival of our ship into ISP the last time we used them. I had contacted them to let them know of the change and everyone on our boat was on our ship anyway, so easy to adjust. We have had the smaller boat with Captain Shawn and the "larger" new boat with Captain Casey , Shawn's son. Both were excellent. Teresa, Shawn's wife, is the van driver and organizer of everything. I also agree with the hot cocoa comment above!
  9. Looks the same on UK site too. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/gbr/en/faq/questions/if-i-test-positive-for-sars-cov-2-what-is-your-refund-policy-and-costs-covered

  11. No omelets at Johnny Rockets anymore, they now have scrambles.
  12. The cranberry bread just came out of the oven, so letting it cool a little bit. We will see if all of it makes it til dinnertime though lol. We are headed to my sister's tomorrow. I am bringing the apple pie, squash, cheese & fruit platter for appetizer, two dozen pecan rolls that I have to make in the morning and some of the cranberry breads for everyone to bring home. At least I don't have to go to NH to get my Mom. One of my brother's is visiting from Texas with his daughter, so they are bringing my Mom down to my sister's house. My Mom actually made a mince pie to bring. Granted it is dump a jar into a premade pie crust, but she was able to do it! I hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving! 🦃🙂
  13. On our cruise last month, they asked passengers to be out of their cabins by 8am. The last numbers were supposed to be called at 9am. Our number was called just after 7am and we left our cabin around 7:15am. We grabbed our luggage in the debarkation area and got a porter. He told us to follow him (he took down one of the ropes lol) and bypassed the crowded area. We did facial recognition, got our green light and off to the parking lot we went. Porter went all the way to the lot with us and loaded the car. Well worth the tip! We were on the road before 7:45. I know you are a new cruiser and are just trying to figure things out. I am sure you can now see that the last morning is just grab something to eat and hit the road. Make sure you check your onboard account on the app throughout the week so you don't find any surprises on the last morning. If you do see charges that are wrong, take care of them when you find them as the last morning at guest services is crazy! You don't want to get stuck in that line. The photo area is closed debarkation morning, so make sure you have purchased and picked up all your pictures the night before at the latest. Make sure you leave clothes to sleep in the last night and clothes and shoes to get home before you put your luggage out the night before. Just tell your late risers that they can sleep in the car home! 🙂
  14. The additional excursions you can book are on a space available basis, so I was happy we were able to read up on them before and could just check the boxes and hand in our paper first to the tour guide. Our river float was supposed to be a very calm float down the river but we went in May and the river was running high because of snow melt. We ended up in class 2 and 3 rapids! The people who went on the white water rafting excursion ended up in class 3 and 4 rapids. It was a blast but I am glad we chose the float. The ATV excursion we did was on a side by side. I am too old to ride a regular ATV. My DH let me drive the whole time, that was really fun too. https://www.royalcaribbeancruisetours.com/content/uploads/2016/06/22003043_Alaska_CruiseTours_Land_Excursions_Brochure_HR_compressed.pdf
  15. When you book your cruise, you choose the land tour you want to take. We booked a southbound Radiance sailing with a 4B cruisetour. The tour comes with some included tours but there are also additional excursions that you can book for additional cost once you meet your tour guide the first day of the land tour. Those excursions are listed under the resources tab of the link above. You can see a list of the cruisetours that an excursion can be added to directly under the excursion description. Meals are not included in the cruisetour unless it is specifically listed. You are given enough time to get a meal while at a stop while touring by bus or you are given an opportunity to dine on the train rides. The cruisetour has really long days. Luggage pickup at the hotel when touring is usually at 6am or 6:30am. You tour all day and get to your next stop near dinner time. We then did additional excursions at night since it is still light out. We did an ATV excursion one night in Denali and a river float the next night. We didn't get back to the hotel until almost 10pm. One thing that worked well for us was we packed on large suitcase with everything for the cruise and that never came off the bus. It had a different tag on it marked for the ship. We had another suitcase that had everything we needed for our cruisetour. We had a good backpack that was our daypack for while we were on the bus as all luggage was under the bus during the day. We had waterproof jackets in a compression bag in our daypack at all times, bug spray, snacks, water, camera and binoculars.
  16. Yes, you can bring on both soda and wine. Here is a link to the policy. They are particular about size of bottles. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy
  17. LOL Okay, good luck checking in upstairs.
