  1. That sunrise over the bridge is just lovely!
  2. I am really looking forward to reading about your trip; especially as Italy is my mothership too ! 😀 🥂
  3. As the above poster mentioned I don't know if a P2P can be transfered -- I know they often have tight restrictions. If you have a D2D I know you can move the deposit to something else as long as you are outside final payment/ penalty phase -- I have done so. As for the future cruise consultant not mentioning the open booking: I suspect they get more commission/recognition by selling an actual cruise. However, that is no excuse to hide that option.
  4. Thanks for the heads up; I log in once a week but it's always good to know if/when changes are made.
  5. One more thing regarding the Open Booking: If you do not apply it to a cruise in the six months you get the full $1000 back.
  6. 1. I have seen wine decanted at the next table, not sure if it was a bottle purchased onboard or brought on. Although I have not done so my self I am pretty sure you can ask for your bottle to be decanted if it is not offered. 2. As for taking the remaining bottle to your room, I have done so in 2019. I brought a bottle to dining room; I didn't ask about decanting as we intended to have it kept for our next dinner. (It didn't occur to me until just now that the waiter did not offer to decant, he was struggling in so many ways I missed that omission). Without being asked (or asking our preference) the waiter brought the bottle and left it on the table as we we finishing dessert. On the way out I did ask the Maitre'd if they normally offer the option of storage, at which point he offered to hold the bottle for us. By this time, I had little confidence in the procedure so I took the bottle back to our cabin and finished it on the balcony the next night. I had a couple more bottle with me on that trip but didn't bother to take to the dining room as it seemed like it was going to be a hassle. On my more recent cruise we just drank the included wines to avoid the hassle. I am sure others will chime in with their experiences.
  7. Thanks for the quick response. The information is helpful. I think I made a good move for me as I like to stand at the rail when we are docking and didn't consider the public spaces when I first booked.
  8. When you were on the aft decks, especially the outside area of the Panorama lounge, did you feel the aft balconies were very visible? I switched away from one of those balconies on level 6 bc it seemed anyone sitting on their balcony would be feel exposed, very public. Anything you'd like to share would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. My experience was last year: it was VERY easy to find the check in, my taxi dropped me right at the terminal entrance, porters took care of the bags it was seamless.
  10. Sorry you're dealing with this. A few thoughts: The bank's insurance is responsible for any costs you incur as it's their unit that caused the leak. You really should look into having the dry wall replaced as the mold can be inside the space between units and you may not know. Ofc, if they have opened the floor above then it should dry out. You may want to consider contacting your homeowner insurance company so they can chase the insurance from the unit above.
  11. I find routes 1 and 3 the most compelling; either would let me hit many new places. Thanks for posting these drafts. It is interesting to learn how SS goes about setting World cruise itineraries.
  12. As Phil said the only difference is location.
  13. Thanks for this.... I've only ever heard the English version by the group A Taste of Honey. It's very different!
  14. So sorry you are going through this. I understand why you feel taken advantage of: clearly this is a known problem so SS should not let passengers book that suite if they are going to keep the ship in operation.
  15. Your original post didn't mention Pre or Post cruise tours.
  16. I had the same feelings before sailing on Azamara; I got lucky in that my neighbors didn't spend much time on their balconies.
  17. Yes, the picture above shows the standard divider. Some cabins have a solid metal divider where there are bulkheads -- the white spaces on the deck plans (as you can see in the image below.) ofc, that metal is one side only.
  18. Can't stay seated with that one. 💃 💃 💃
  19. Seems as if your TA is treating this as a cancel and rebook. There's no need to do that as long as you haven't made final payment. The TA should be processing a simple reprice which does NOT require you to release your room nor pay a cancellation fee, but it would lose any OBC that came with the original booking promo. It shouldn't -- IMO -- impact your B2B OBC since that is not a promo. I would push the TA more.
  20. I was widowed 10 years ago; it took me many years to sail solo. I say give it a try, especially as you have your heart set on this transpacific cruise. Silversea is a great company for solos: they will have solo gatherings (which you can join or not at your discretion) and the lower solo supplements as mentioned above on many sailings. The included excursions means you are on tours with other passengers, it's easy to make connections and see the same faces around the ship. Recently my niece whom I used as a travel companion mentioned joining me for a cruise again. I told her I would keep it in mind, but in my heart I was thinking: Nope! I am going alone again. It is quite freeing, once you take the leap. (Sorry for the mini thread hijack)
  21. All your cruises should show in your MySilversea account even without a VS number. I would contact my SS rep (or travel agent) and ask them to have the information added.
  22. You can ask for something else without paying a fee. I would have a few options to suggest -- no guarantee you'll get them, but it's a place to start. SS may say there is an extra cost for the flights you want but you will be able to decide if you want to pay that, OR go with other flights they have.
