I don't cruise to watch tv, but my Phils just made it to the world series. Will I be able to see it on the Anthem next week?
-
Quantum and Anthem were initially designed for year round sailings from Cape Liberty. We have only sailed once, but it did seem ok. There is a large indoor pool area and the Solarium is very large and indoors. 270 is huge and can be used for relaxing on sea days. Seaplex is indoors and can handle a lot of things to keep teens active all day. We'll be sailing her soon and will relearn the ship.

We sailed on a few of those ships. Some were small enough to be lifeboats for the Oasis class. I don't miss the ships because they did not have balconies and some of the amenities of today's larger ships. However, wouldn't mind if the the level of service and cuisine that those ships had existed today.

If it works with wifi calling, I might just get it.

The Cape Liberty terminal is ok, but you can encounter a mile long (or more) line of vehicles waiting to drop off luggage due to the lone access road. But I can drive there in 90 minutes and don't have to deal with flying hassles. Baltimore is a longer drive for me, but easy in and out. The drawback is the limited sailing options.

DW will be very happy to hear that.

Interesting question. I recall hearing (a long time ago) that salad dressings were made onboard, but I can't say that this is indeed the case.

Is the Coral Way trolley in Miami a good way to get from Port of Miami to Bayside marketplace? How often does it run? Are the stops convenient to the piers?

Coco Cay Beach Club, is it worth it?

Basic economics. They would drop the price until people buy them. -
Sailing on Anthem. Is it still complementary or is there now a fee like North Star?

What cruise lines have you sailed? Royal is no more or less secure than any other cruise lines that I have sailed on these matters. Using reasonable precautions mentioned earlier should work on any major cruise line. -
We are quite fond of many parts of the Jersey Shore. That said, it's a misnomer to call it the New York harbor. 95% of the port activity occurs in New Jersey, hence the look of a working port. Perhaps they should call it the New Jersey harbor.

When we have done guarantees, we have ended up OK. The one that concerned us most was a very late upgrade to a balcony. We were assigned one at the front of the ship and had motion concerns. The sailing was calm so it turned out well.

dropping bags off at Guest Services

The lines at Guest Services are very long on embarkation day. By time you get to the counter, the cabins will be ready. -
Cruise Stops in Orlando and Miami

What tours are offered in MIA? Many of the tours on the RCI site are shown as ending at the airport. Do they have versions of these tours that return to the ship? -
RCI Newbie, Deck preference question
davy jones replied to villagenut's topic in Royal Caribbean International
IMO - it is personal preference. Your preferences may differ from mine. That said, if there is are passenger cabins above, below, and around my cabin, the deck doesn't matter. Like most, we spend the day mostly on the upper outside public decks and the evenings mostly on the lower public decks with the restaurants and entertainment venues. Under those constraints, we're either closer to our activity in the daytime or nighttime, so the net "closeness" is the same. Besides, any extra walking or stairs is probably better for us. -
Talk to me about Grandeur of the Seas, please

https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/slideshow-cabin.php?ship=Grandeur-of-the-Seas&cabin=7569 If that is the video, you can judge for yourself. Just be prepared to be cramped. Note the limited space to get in and out of the bed on the side of the cabin with the drawers. Separating the beds may help. Just be prepared to bump into your travel companion a lot. -

Many people like Grandeur because of its smaller size. If you don't need the rock walls, amusement amenities, and grand production shows, you will enjoy the more relaxed vibe. I preferred the Park Cafe over Cafe Promenade. It had more variety and better late night offerings. The cruise was fine, but be very careful with inside cabin selection. The doors on the IS cabins on decks 7 and 8 open into the center of the cabin, not the corridor between the closets and bathroom. This greatly reducing the effective area of an already tiny cabin. The door constantly interfered with the single chair in the room. You could either sit in the chair, or open the door. Avoid those cabins at all costs. The gym was pretty much standard stuff except for the aft location.
