  1. They will always say subject to change just as a CYA. But Amber Cove is Carnival's private "island" in DR, so you will definitely dock at Taino. From cruisehive.com: "This private 30-acre retreat is exclusively offered as a port of call to cruisers with Carnival and its sister companies."
  2. And I seem to remember that Amber Cove was built exclusively for Carnival.
  3. Our Splendor cruise in March docked at Taino.
  4. We spent 10 days in the Caribbean on Splendor this year. While the loungers in that area were very popular, the infinity pool was basically unused. Occasionally someone would use it for photo opportunities, but that was about it. I trust Grandeur will make better use of that space.
  5. And I'm pretty sure they didn't have a leisurely Pacific Rim dinner at 8:30 and still make the 9:30 show. But it was still an enjoyable, well done, video. I've got 11 months until my next cruise and I'm always glad to see one of those.
  6. We priced out some Northern Europe cruises for next year, and Splendor suites are in the neighborhood of $5000 per couple per day, maybe just a little less.
  7. It's obviously not just a day, more of a montage of their cruise. But it was really well done.
  8. Terrific video about a day on the Splendor in the Baltic.
  9. Like you I used to snorkel a lot in my younger days. I'm 71 now, and I had a blast snorkeling on our Splendor Caribbean cruise this year. Now, I've always been the kind of snorkler that likes to just float quietly and let the fish do the work. If you are someone who likes to get a little more aggressive it might be different.
  10. Plus any sign that's in Swedish was basically worthless to us. I have a shot at figuring it out for many languages, but I would never have guessed that the "Biluthyrning" sign was for car rentals. This was pre-Google translate.
  11. The booking process will automatically use your OBC.
  12. Interesting.. 3 in our group had massages and they all said they paid the brochure price. Maybe they were too relaxed after the treatment!
  13. Yes, the listed price has the gratuity included.
  14. Yes you can. The 20% gratuity is included in the price of the treatment and is not a separate line item.
  15. I don't actually have too many complaints about Regent's website (although I started this thread by complaining about it). It's got a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it's OK. I do wish it was faster. I know that some people complain that there's no app, but I don't miss it at all. Mass market cruises absolutely require it for booking shows, dinners, etc. while onboard. When Virgin Voyages started cruising their app had major problems, and it was a real disaster for their passengers. But it's just not necessary on Regent IMHO.
  16. That seems accurate. The good thing is that we were hoping to go to San Sebastian on a tour, and Saint-Jean looks to be 20 minutes closer than Biarritz would be.
  17. While Regent's website isn't great, I've learned to navigate pretty it well. I do a lot of "open link in new tab" so that I can always get back to where I was if need be. It's clumsy but I don't consider it too much of a problem. But now we're researching Med and Northern Europe cruises for next summer. And it appears that if a town is hyphenated, the website drops what's after the hyphen. So Saint-Malo and Saint-Tropez both show up as just Saint. Biarritz also shows that we'd be docking in "Saint," and I have no idea what town that is supposed to be, This happens with Port-Vendres, which simply is shown up as "Port". Pont-Aven is shown as "Pont" etc. With some Google mapping work I can figure out most of these (not Biarritz though), but it's not too much to ask that the names of the ports are accurate.
  18. You definitely can request it, and will probably get what you ask for, especially if you do it in advance. My son-in-law had his TA ask about Monster Energy drinks and his suite had tons of the stuff.
  19. We're on the fence for that very cruise. We're looking for one last splash to finishe off our cruising "career" and that may be the one. Coincedentally, we'd also be 73 and 75 at time of sailing!
  20. Is it possible to decline the pre-cruise air but use Regent Air post-cruise? A test booking on the website doesn't offer that option, but I thought I remembered reading that it was possible. We're pricing out a trans-Atlantic cruise and just need BC coming back home.
  21. Yeah, it's awful. We all wish he'd give up the stuff but to no avail so far.
  22. Our son-in-law drinks those gross Monster Energy drinks. He typically has a big can every morning. He had our TA ask Regent if they could stock some for his suite, and lo and behold their room had some at arrival, and it was restocked daily. I think Pepsi Max would be an easier ask than that. Our cruise did leave from Miami which helped.
  23. That's something I hadn't considered, and explains why it appears that we are MUCH happier with the included business air than many are. Our three European cruises have all included a first class flight from PHX to somewhere on the east coast, a reasonable layover spent in the business class lounge, followed by an overnight flight across the water in lie-flat seats. Post cruise has been the same in reverse. When we price booking our own flights from Phoenix we can't come close to what the air credit would be. I guess that'd be drastically different if we lived in NYC.
