  1. Pearl is entry level in Blue Chip casino club. Basically, one level up from nothing. No meaningful benefits, at least not for me.
  2. Be aware that Ryanair does not fly to the "main" Milan airport, but rather, to Bergamo.. This may or may not be convenient for you. This topic reminds me of the parody song about cheap flights:
  3. It is interesting to see Celebrity/BCC are still sending out offers. My offer, which I accepted, expired on August 3.
  4. Can't help with Concierge, but Aqua upgrade for us was $10 per person per day. I would hope Concierge is equal to or less than that. But my upgrade was done at the time of booking when the agent asked me about my interest in upgrading. I am not sure how it works if you call them after the booking has been made.
  5. I was in the same situation as you and Mcazer. But I grew impatient and called yesterday and was on hold about 90 minutes. But it all worked out for me. Suggestion for you and others, when you call - have the "real-time" deck plan for your desired cruise in front of you. The phone agents seem to select cabins at random and are agreeable to giving you your preferred cabin.
  6. As a point of information for future travels, your United lounge pass is valid for United lounges, only United lounges, and nothing but United lounges. It seems to be a common misconception that these free passes gain access to Star alliance lounges i hope you enjoy your time exploring a little bit of Amsterdam
  7. Where have you read this? I have never seen this language published
  8. I can empathize with your concerns. Like you, I always arrived one day early, and longer for European cruises. But the current news reports about the status of the airlines has given me the same concerns you have - one day may not be enough. I do not have a cruise booked yet, but when I do, I think I will try for arriving at least two days in advance. It all comes down to personal preference and risk tolerance.
  9. For sure, the longer connection time is safer. You did not mention your travel dates, but if they are during the next few months, I would not select a 45 minute connection time at any airport, on any airline, in any class of service, with any status level. But that is just me.
  10. For what it is worth, I wanted to let you know that you are not alone in your confusion. My guess is that you and I would most likely refer to this test as "pre-arrival" rather than pre-departure. Somehow, this announcement is good news, so I will just accept that for whatever it is.
  11. Good suggestion. Additionally, some credit cards offer purchase protection for a limited time (90 days?)
  12. several threads have discussed this topic. Here is one of them
  13. Small addition to this useful topic - I had booked Flights by Celebrity. I have to cancel those first before I can refund the cruise, but the whole itinerary will be refunded - flights and cruise. We are not able to cruise another week this summer. I had hoped to be able to keep the flights and turn my journey into a land trip, but no luck with that. The flight prices were better than what I could book on my own. No cruise = no flights. All or none. Like the rest of us, I believe the compensation. is inadequate. A refund returns our money, but how do we recoup our planned time off? Some of us are still working and have a hard time getting time off from work on short notice 😞
