  1. I originally only went to shows lasting up to 1.1/2 hours, but now go to all shows.
  2. The theatre is one place I don't remove my mask, with 100% occupancy.
  3. That must have been an adventure! We had Drake lake not rough at all. I always hold on, Covid or not!
  4. Two half days will limit which you can do. I would stay around Darwin. You might like to visit the Darwin Museum and Art Gallery of NT by taxi or local bus. I usually have a cold drink at the waterfront place next door. Darwin has beautiful botanical gardens. Darwin Waterfront Precinct has a wave lagoon and recreation lagoon which is a fun place to cool down in Darwin's tropical hot weather. I always eat at Chow for a taste of SE Asia. I love Darwin which is a unique multicultural tropical city.
  5. That is good to hear giddy_up. I got mixed up with the rough seas to Tasmania at the same time. The worse rough seas I've been on was when the ship pitched and rolled at the same time. (Bay of Biscay) The second worse was when they had ropes across the stairwells to hold on to and the piano and chairs slid from side to side on the ship (NY to Rotterdam) The third worse was the Great Australian Bight (I didn't cruise for 30 years afterwards)
  6. That is a shame. I've never seen that set up. Surely they can arrange seated area better so there is not a thoroughfare of heavy foot traffic through the seated area, Who designs these things? Obviously not a music lover. I go to Senior Concerts in Sydney and seat where I can see the pianist's hands, such is my love of music!
  7. I am sorry you have caught covid on Majestic Princess. I hope you receive anti virals and will soon be feeling better.
  8. Not sure where the ship will be on Monday afternoon, but it is forecast showers and cloudy up the East Coast from Brisbane.
  9. Doesn't Victoria advise the number of covid cases on cruise ships? This cruise will be of particular interest because it has skipped Newcastle.
  10. I understand your concern with elderly parents and increasing number of Covid cases on big cruise ships. I would be keen to stay in Australian waters also.
  11. Well you'll certainly have a hot Christmas and lots of beautiful blue water this year.
  12. For anyone who'd like to meet up, the suggestion is Serenity Bar, Deck 9, aft Adult only pool here also. Yes brunch does sound good. It is only on sea days (twice on this cruise). Say 3 pm after brunch. I'll wear shell necklace.
  13. If we couldn't win, Canadians are my favourite team players, so congratulations to Canada! Canadian players have really improved in recent years.
  14. I'm going to be in Cairns on Wednesday, 7/12 from 10-7, if you are not working and would like to catch up, I plan to have lunch in Cairns, do a little shopping and walk along the beautiful Esplanade in the cool of the evening. This is my first cruise since Covid. I really miss travelling north which we used to do each year. Do you enjoy living in Cairns? I was there during the year, but was like a hermit because I didn't want to catch Covid prior to my RAT test on the day of boarding my small cruise ship.
  15. Just shows how out of date I am re cruising. I think 7 nights is a short cruise.
  16. I'm sorry you had to cancel your cruise. Good that you did the right thing.
  17. Unfortunately I'm not even aware I do that until she tells me!! But I'm going to practice to not do that because i realise it defeats the purpose.
  18. Luminosa cruising from Brisbane 2022 - 20/11 - 1/12 - 11 days to NZ currently. 1-4/12 - 3 sea day cruise 4/12-11/12 - 7 day Great Barrier Reef Cruise 11/12-15/12 - 4 day cruise to Airlie Beach 15/12 - 18/12 - 3 sea day cruise 18/12 - 8 day south pacific cruise 2612 `- 3 sea days 29/12 - 7 nights to GBR Cruise I was curious if there was method to their madness in the choice of number of cruise days.
  19. We have those sales here now, even though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Seems the sales are bigger than our Boxing Day sales now. We try not to get caught up with these sales, but we bought a big TV, toaster and jug yesterday, but we needed them. My daughter is going to shop around for best speaker for TV. As long as you do your homework you can find genuine bargains.
  20. There are so many great deals around at present I'd tend to wait. However the deals mightn't still be around in Feb 2024. Depends whether covid is still around on cruise ships then, When I mentioned I can't consider current specials because I've made other plans. Someone said he could have done five of the current specials for the price of his one booked cruise to NZ, Heart breaking. I'm going on a 7 day cruise on Carnival's Luminosa to GBR on Sunday, 4/12. Ports of call are Airlie Beach, Cairns and Port Douglas. No single supplement. I miss travelling north.
  21. I'd love to try that re-stuffed baked potato. Steak looks like what you'd get at a bush pub here.
