  3. I know that some (most?) cruise lines have a system of providing benefits (drink packages, comped staterooms, etc.) when doing a group booking. Mike and I are looking at a cruise for his big birthday in 2023 and have a number of friends interested in joining us. Does anyone know if Viking offers something to a group and how large a group is needed? TIA!

  5. Not an answer to your question but just to let you know there are actually 6 “London” airports. If you’re flying in from the US then you’ll likely fly into Heathrow or Gatwick. Others will hopefully advise on what they have experienced with Viking Air.
  6. Last July, we received via email 2 weeks before sailing digital versions of the booklet that was previously mailed. I printed out a couple of pages just in case we needed them but didn’t.
  7. I highly suggest you look for (and if it’s not showing up on a menu) for the Chilean sea bass in The Restaurant. OMG, it’s so so good. We always plan our chefs table reservations once onboard so we don’t miss eating the sea bass in the Restaurant. Last July, it didn’t appear it was going to be offer, on the night they served the grilled Mediterranean Sea bass, we asked the Manager and he found us later that evening and said the Chef was going to prepare it for us (and the lucky table seated beside us who saw it) the next night. He must of thawed a whole fish, as the following night it was an appetizer in the World Cafe.
  8. All sorts of juices are available at the The Restaurant and World Cafe at breakfast-not as sure about at other meals. Also, the “green” drink at the Living Room in the mornings is quite tasty. Unsweetened ice tea has been available at all dining venues on all our cruises (last was July 2021). This was poured from a pitcher. My DMIL usually drinks decaffeinated tea and asked for some. It took awhile but once we learned why, it was no wonder. The server had made her a pot of decaf tea, then chilled it down before serving her. From them on she stuff to water or splurged and hat regular ice tea.
  9. We too have booked more than one excursion per day. Usually the included and one paid. Keep in mind that the reservation system won’t (or wouldn’t last July) allow you to book excursions within the same hour. In other words, if an excursion was scheduled to arrive back at 12:30, we couldn’t book a 1pm departure. Similar with dining reservations, couldn’t book a 6pm Chef’s Table if our excursion showed a 5:30 completion time.

  12. If your taking a laptop I suspect this will serve you well. Once I quit work and didn’t travel with a laptop anymore I discovered how much space I was giving up due to the padding.
  13. One thing that should work in your favor is that you’ll clear immigration and customs in Vancouver. Good Luck!
  14. He did not. We discussed what we wanted and he made a pattern and made one and then we revised it slightly for the second one. Best part to me is the key ring in the pocket! Had one inside my office computer bag and I love knowing I’m not gonna loose my keys. Our suitcases are Away Bigger Carry-Ons in a special editor Serena Williams red.

  16. Me thinks they might have forgotten to update their “Risk Free” webpage. It still says “Book Now” even though it also says, Offer ends June 30. Wonder which needs to be changed? I’ve tweeted at them-if I get a response I’ll post here.
  17. On our last two cruises, the Restaurant was open on disembarkation day-it was our last civilized time before reentering the chaos of airport travel. 😱
  18. We love our bespoke bags (DH made them) and they have a sleeve. Only issue is if we overfill the bags it can be a rug of war to get them on and off the handle.

  20. Which ship? Seems like I saw a YouTube of one of the new ships (Octantis?) and the vlogger was happy they had usb-c ports. Maybe same on Mars? Even if not, with the abundance of power outlets will you really need the adapters too?
  21. Another way is to use the agent website that helps you “go to (your) vacation”. It has a great search engine that you can filter by ship. Hopefully you can de-code!
  22. As you can tell from the two answers received it all depends on how many times you need to charge. We are with Heidi on this one but we only have our phones and tablets to charge. Here is my recollection of the outlets available in V and DV stateroom - there may be more (and I suspect there are definitely more in the higher category staterooms): -desk: US outlet, Euro outlet -each bedside: US outlet, Euro outlet, at least one USB outlets (maybe there are two?)
  23. I misspoke, it does apply but it shows up on the website before even inputting the code. While a reduced deposit is nice, I’m hoping for more😂 so will wait and hope it doesn’t sell out. At this point, only ES1 and PJS are gone. Everything else is available. If anyone would like to book the Owner’s Suite ($19,999 pp)on our behalf I will be happy to provide our contact information. 😊 I didn’t even ask and for some reason final payment for our Oct 27 cruise was due on June 30! I started a thread and there doesn’t seem to be a pattern I can discern of who is getting the more generous PIF dates and who is still having to pay 12 months ahead.

The promos we have received and used via email before have included one or more of the following: -Category Upgrade -Reduced Price -Silver Spirits -Air -Shipboard Credit For our October 🤞 cruise we paid $1000pp less than the website price for a V2 and are in a D2-could have been a D1 but the last one disappeared while Inwas booking😢 and got all the perks above. In the past we have usually only gotten the upgrade and air.
