  1. Is the air plus fee refundable/vouchable if Viking cancels the cruise. Currently have “free” air and paid to deviate as we want to stay longer in Bangkok after disembarkation. But haven’t purchased plus figuring we would wait and see what we get before doing so. That’s supposed to show up on MVJ on July 29 for our Oct 27 embarkation. But given current state of Asia we aren’t sure the cruise won’t get canceled.
  2. On our last precovid cruise (Half Trans-Atlantic) menus for all venues were available on the tv and the app. Even tea!
  3. Precovid we were able to do the same via the app or the stateroom TV. Unfortunately on our last cruise (July 2021 in Iceland) neither medium had the menus posted. Hopefully that has changed as modifying/making reservations that way was much easier.
  4. I’ve got my fingers crossed for a similar WC of course the stock market is going to have to recover first so have toes crossed too!😂
  5. Same was true for folks on our first TA when they didn’t have their luggage until we got to Madeira. As I recall, they also comped them some clothes from the shop.
  6. Good attitude from your friend-I agree that let’s hope everyone can have it when we cruise. It’s an oldie but goodie-if you’re checking a bag per person, split your clothes among the two bags. That way if one of them is delayed you’ll at least have half your clothes. Of course the easier thing to do is to learn to pack light and never have your bags leave your sight. We can travel for 12 nights in our rollaboards and DH custom made underseat bags.
  7. Based on cruisemapper looks like they finally left Vancouver!
  8. It’s whoever you booked the cruise you’re going on.
  9. From the posts (on the site that can’t be named) cheering the arrival of tags, you may want to get in touch with Viking (or your TA if you booked that way). Most folks seem to be posting that the tags arrived 2-3 weeks precruise. Most have reported no bags but someone the other day posted a picture that they had gotten a pouch.
  10. We had the questionnaire in Tokyo but then had an email conversation to hone our plans after our guide was assigned. Same process for our guide in Hiroshima. Wish we had of been as gracious as you and thought to bring a gift. Lucky for us, our guide didn’t present us with one…other than their hospitality and willingness to teach strangers about themselves and country.
  11. Lucky me! 😂. Just glad to know that it’s just me and not a systemic issue. Thanks!
  12. For dinner I would let the restaurant manager know a few days ahead of time and would ask for a quiet table by the window in The Restaurant. I would skip dessert there and head up to the World Cafe, pick out a dessert (or make a sampler tray), swing by the Aquavit Bar and pickup two glasses of sparkling (or amaretto) and then take it all to the bow and then up two decks to enjoy.
  13. I’ve only seen the pea soup on the menu once. We liked it so much we asked for some to take to our room for the next day. On our last cruise we were excited when we saw pea soup on the menu at the WC. Alas, it was warm split pea soup. When the restaurant manager stopped by our table we responded to the usual question, “How is everything?” with “fine but we were hoping for the chilled pea soup”. A few minutes later one of the chef’s came to our table and said to be sure to ask for him the next day. We did and were so pleased to have it again! Please note I said (or meant to say), some of the sugar-free gelato!
  14. Thanks! I was familiar with it there but since this came in a special email with the link, I guess I was expecting something else. 🤔
  15. When we recently received our boosters, the nurse praised us for having similar holders for the cards, she seems to think we will soon have a second card to maintain.

  17. I received an email today with the subject line: “Go on Location with Viking Filmography”. The body of the email was the screenshot below. When I click on the red “View Your Filmogrpahy” button it takes me to the MVJ login page. After logging in, I’m unable to to find any tabs that seem to include anything about filmography, films, etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction? TIA
  18. “Had”? Hope you aren’t responsible for the death! 😂
  19. Seems pretty updated to me including a video from TH: https://www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/why-viking/health-and-safety/health-and-safety-program.html?fbclid=IwAR3hRPJ3ZLXvcLw6gMe8vdNGYMP5dnmr5ymEOSPEFFHNRm-bkLU-ivU2xsw
  20. I could very well be wrong about that but seems like there was a can of something clear?
  21. It appears you and I are both correct based on the picture online.
