  1. But are you sure youā€™ve got the right ship or dates? Jupiter is scheduled to head to South America on November 10, 2022. Once you get the correct date and ship, then Andy is right-you should check and see if there is a roll call already underway.
  2. It was ā€œfreeā€ on the Caribbean portion.
  3. Gary i think you need to add a statistic to the beginning of your blog - # of churches visited! šŸ˜‚
  4. I knew about the 6 month deal for those with a cruise already booked. That isnā€™t the case for us.
  5. This popped up on my Instagram feed this morning. While I hope to never experience it IRL, itā€™s interesting to see how they work. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CbsYmEnjQsQ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  6. Yes, it was an emailed four day long one-lower price, category upgrade, ā€œfreeā€ air, silver spirits, and $500 shipboard credit.
  7. Ours is October 27, 2022 and our final payment date is also June 30th. Only reason I am questioning is that perhaps itā€™s a new procedure. But the fact yours is due the same time as ours blows that concept. Maybe Tors has a big loan payment coming due on July 1?šŸ˜‚
  8. This is for Hong Kong to Bangkok. We booked under a promo but there was no mention of a revised payment date.
  9. Had Viking changed their procedure regarding the PIF timing? Just realized that our final payment for our cruise in October 2022 is 118 days before we depart-(perhaps with the international date line it works out to be 120 days before embarkation). In the past, it had been due within a day or two of us booking since we usually book only a few months out. I was expecting it to be similar this time since we are well within 365 days of the cruise. Not complainingā€¦.just wondering. šŸ¤”
  10. Responding to the OP, we have accepted Viking Air for our cruise in October. Two reasons-one it was free. Second is because of the possibility that there may be changes in our cruise itinerary. If for example, Hong Kong doesnā€™t allow ships to embark there and the cruise leaves from Taiwan instead, Viking will have to deal with rearranging our flights.
  11. Glad you enjoyed the ice bar. We did this in Copenhagen and like you thought it was a little steep for two drinks but a great deal of fun. My mother-in-law loved the experience but didnā€™t care for her drink. LOL. Maybe you can visit the one in Copenhagen too!
  12. Not sure if any PE cabin has exit rows so that is unlikely to be an issue.
  13. No, 2022 šŸ˜¢ It wasnā€™t even on our watch list but when they lower the price, throw in ā€œfreeā€ air, SS and shipboard credit more than enough to cover the service charges we decided it was a deal we would risk. šŸ¤ž
  14. Using Charā€™a idea to request quotes, you can do the same online and therefore not waste your TAā€™s time. Use the red ā€œPrice and Buildā€ button and when you get to the payment portion, just click on the courtesy hold and you will get an emailed quote that will include the port times.
  15. Theirs was similar priced to Viking on a per person/per day basis but of course they had preceded it with a luxurious but relatively cheap stay in Quito. We lived Equador, if you can budget to stay longer you should. Drop me an email if you need any recommendations.
  16. We are booked from Hong Kong to Bangkok in October and have everything crossed šŸ¤ž that we get to go.
  17. Looks like a great plan. I forget who they cruised with but it was a much smaller boat-9 or 10 staterooms as I recall.
  18. FWIW, we had ā€œfreeā€ air for our flight from Hong Kong to Seattle and had bid on an upgrade to PE on Cathay Pacific. But a few weeks before our flights I realized that it was likely (if we won our bid) that we would be in the two middle seats (2-4-2) so we elected to rescind it. We had already paid for exit row on the 2 side and decided that would be preferable to being stuck in the middle. After boarding we decided we really made a great decision. PE was completely full whereas E wasnā€™t. So Mike moved to one of the exit seats in the middle section of seats. So we had tons of leg room and he had 1.5 seats and I had 2. We had ā€œfreeā€ā€™air for our cruise in October and hope we get just as lucky. šŸ¤ž
  19. I saw you were asking about it. We had friends who did a shorter Amazon cruise on a small but lux boat a couple of years ago and loved it. Envious!
  20. Sure has gotten quiet in here since the IRL Explorerā€™s Lounges reopened. šŸ˜¢ Happy for those that are getting to enjoy and happy that we now are least have a date when we hope (please donā€™t get canceled) to be back in a real one on Orion-October 26, 2022!
  21. Similar story but different outcome. We booked our own flights on Delta in Premium Select (PE) to Iceland last year (for less than what Viking wanted to charge for E) and Comfort+ for the return. The week before we left, Delta changed equipment from 757 to 767. The 767 didnā€™t have Premium Economy so they bumped us up to Delta One! Not a terribly comfortable seat but more so than what we had purchased! And for a lot less money than what folks who paid for Delta One had paid. We paid $1,300 roundtrip and those who paid for DeltaOne had paid close to $6,000. šŸ˜±
  22. Doesnā€™t sound like the sharpest knife in the drawer. Not sure Iā€™ll take his advice on health issues! šŸ˜‚
