  1. The cabin will be the same, just the location will not be as desirable…or what others have deemed desirable. EM
  2. But you are going to have to find your way down to the port after you get back to Fira. Are you going to walk down the donkey poop steps, or take the lift? EM
  3. The newer the ship, the more accessible it should be. But I don’t mean it has to be brand new, or less than five years. Most 20 years or less will be pretty good. It’s the oldies but goodies that have been sold off to other lines you have to watch out for. But then there may be a problem in that the best cruise line may not go to the most accessible places. Or not with all of their ships. You need to be more specific as to where you want to go. EM
  4. I’m on my mini4 right now. Just for kicks, I fired up my ten year old iPad mini first generation. I can bring up cruise critic, but part of the screen is cut off on the right. The top blue menu bar has write a review, and under that boards, but the login/logout is missing. Further down on the next blue bar the search space hangs beyond the right margin. So obviously I can’t login on that antique device.
  5. Both times I have been to Taormina, we docked in Catania and took a bus. Wherever your transportation up to the town lets you off, just follow the Main Street and it will take you to the theater. If they offer an excursion Taormina on your own, do it. Google for a map of Taormina, look it up in a guidebook like Lonely Planet. EM
  6. No. As long as they are downloaded to your device, not in your cloud library. EM
  7. There is an excellent review over on the Disabled Cruising board from a woman who did several days prior to cruise in Iceland. EM
  8. The only cruise I had this problem was my one cruise on Crystal. But I’ve only done one since, a four day on Carnival. EM
  9. I’ve been on a number of other cruise lines, and on every one robes were provided. If they weren’t in the cabin on boarding they were in the laundry. If I want one, I ask. On HL there are different quality robes in the upper categories. On another line, only the upper categories got slippers. EM
  10. No bottles. Too many people doctoring bottles to contain alcohol. EM
  11. You can pack a 12 pack of non-alcoholic drink, but must be cans, no bottles. EM
  12. If you are looking at an inside on HAL, get one of the very large inside cabins on Main deck. EM
  13. Look at luglife.com for packable totes and backpacks. The backpacks hold more than two beach towels. EM
  14. Since their ships are river cruisers, I would post it there. EM
  15. We didn’t have washcloths on our first Divina cruise in2013, but it was the three day US inaugural. I’m sure all of the travel agents onboard did get them. Next cruise on Divina we did have tissue and washcloth. On Seaside we had washcloth, I think maybe tissue, too. Also had washcloth on Armonia but not tissue. I learned long ago to take a washcloth when traveling in Europe, as they are not standard in hotels, either. EM
  16. I have four cruises on MSC, two on Divina. Entertainment is mostly musical, due to the international demographic. Comedy doesn't travel well, especially for non-English speakers. But I always felt the singers were good, classically trained. Divina and Seaside had an abbreviated opera performance the last afternoon. Can't remember if Armonia did. Now, allow me to add some cabin pictures from steerage. This first one was a tiny inside on our first cruise, very cheap as it was the three day US inaugural in 2013. This cabin is now called a junior inside: 13147 Needless to say, it was cramped but it was only three days. This is a standard inside, more space,12275 This is a standard balcony cabin, 12285 11005 with different color scheme This was our Bella balcony, 8114. It has only a single easy chair because the bathroom has a tub/shower. I have pcs of Seaside, too, but since this thread is about Divina, I'll limit it to her. As an aside, MSC cruises in the Caribbean without any US ports also board guests in several ports. EM
  17. That Galaxy area was rather an undefined space when I was on her in 2013…EM
  18. I did online renewal a week ago, and it is just saying ‘received’. My current passport was expiring on the 23rd. I don’t have anything booked, but if I want to go before the new one comes, it would on,y be to the Bahamas, so I could use my BC. Not that I would be comfortable doing that, because in 45 years of travel, I’ve always had a passport. EM
  19. It makes you wonder…if it’s an American (North American) thing, to make changes, regard, etc. Do the long time European customer base just book and be satisfied? EM
  20. Please, please do tell us who the agency is, and also the consolidator. There is no limit on excursion agencies and guide, not like travel agencies. Please go over to the Ports of Call board also. The only restriction there is that you can’t recommend an excursion if you haven’t yet taken it. I have been to Iceland twice and I’m looking forward to your next segment!
  21. Have you looked at the Ports of Call board here? Looked in the reviews section for cruises on both lines that visited Jerusalem? Have you asked on the boards here for those lines for people to relate their experiences? It will be hard for someone to say which gave the better experience unless that person did both cruises…. EM
  22. And to compound the error, the OP is on NCL, which was once called Norwegian Caribbean Cruise Line, whic on,y sails from Miami. EM
