  1. Cruisedeckplans.com has pics of that cabin on Eclipse. Lots of space, no couch but two easy chairs by the window. EM
  2. Put an AirTag in so you can track it. EM
  3. I e been through this thread twice, and somehow missed if the name of the ship has been mentioned. But I have a question for the OP: just what are your expectations for the use of this unobstructed view? In a quad cabin, whether uppers are in the ceiling or on the wall, the head of the bed will be beneath the window. You can’t get close to the window without sprawling across the bed. You can’t sit by the window and watch the passing scene. In some cabins for two only, the head of the bed is on the side wall, so you could sit by the window (if there was a chair) to see out…around the obstruction. So, you might not achieve what you expect from the unobstructed view. EM
  4. Those balconies were just tacked onto the outside of OV cabins, just like Carnival did with six of their 8 Fantasy class ships. This was done when they lengthened the ships (MSC, not Carnival). When you look at outside pics of the Armonia/Lirica class, you won’t see the balconies because the pics are old. EM
  5. Some credit card issuers charge a foreign transaction fee if the bank used or purchase is in a different country than the country of issue. Check the terms of your card, whether they charge this fee. I make sure my cards do not. MSC banks through Paris or Geneva. I have been charged a fee by AMEX for an item purchased in Central America, even though it was charged in US$. EM
  6. They will give you a paper of instructions for turnaround day and it includes special luggage tags for B2B. Unfortunately the instructions here are for the US. You won’t have immigration formalities in Barcelona. Just tell your cabin steward you are staying on but moving cabins. You should get the packet the evening before. If you don’t, corner your cabin steward and ask for it. I never got mine, was only moving three doors down the hall, made three trips to guest services before they finally gave me copies. The envelope showed up on my bed on moving day, in my new cabin after I had moved. EM
  7. Go to cruisetimetables.com. From Cruises to… select Croatia and then go through the ports. It will tell you who calls there and their itineraries. Happy searching. EM
  8. If you are compulsive about seeing cabin pictures, you should join cruisedeckplans.com
  9. It’s Wednesday and Carnival Pride is doing a partial transit, with Zaandam following her going westbound.
  10. They on,y post schedule a week at a time. EM
  11. There used to be a resident eagle at the top of the Mt. Robert’s tram in Juneau. It had been injured and couldn’t be returned to the wild. EM
  12. There is a video of 12287 on Mardi Gras on Cruisedeckplans.com. If you google Mardi Gras 12287 you can probably find it. There are also videos of other square cabins, too. EM
  13. Tuesday 3/19 Vasco da Gama (née Statendam) celebrates the first day of spring with an eastbound transit. Finishing a 181 day world cruise r/t Lisbon
  14. There are menus in every Live From thread here by those not in Yacht Club. They tweak them daily, switch some items around but they give you an idea. Don’t know if Fantasia has a separate restaurant for Aurea, or just a separate part of one of the MDRs. I believe El Sombrero Tex-Mex is a specialty rest., possibly also La Cantina Toscana. EM
  15. Yes, Seacruisechat closed down in mid-January, after 27 years. Manuela and I were about the only active members, and Phil has developed physical problems that made keeping the site up a problem. Sad to see it go. EM
  16. Most cruise lines require you to be booked by the evening before sailing. With Carnival, you can call/book in the morning and sail in the afternoon. Cruise lines don’t have sales offices/booths/desks like airlines do at an airport. All booking is done online, by phone, or through a travel agency, which may be brick and mortar, online or on phone.
  17. From the UK you also have Saga, which I believe requires ages over 50. P&O-UK has two ships that are adults only. You also have Fred Olsen from the UK. Both lines operate fly/cruise packages to the Caribbean. I don’t know about the demographic on Fred, perhaps a little reading on the Fred Olsen board here would help…. Any cruise longer than 7 days will usually have fewer children. Those cruises sail from Caribbean islands and do not visit any US ports. Marella did have a ship based in Port Canaveral last year. MSC and Costa have ships sailing the Caribbean that do not visit US ports. But I have no idea what the kid count might be. Suggest you go to cruisetimetables.com, select some islands you would like to visit. It will tell you who calls there, and their itineraries. EM
  18. Agree with Sapphire. Did Alaska on her sister Diamond, and later on Coral. Sapphire has the better wraparound promenade deck. EM
  19. Sirena didn’t stay long, back eastbound on Monday
  20. Carnival hasn’t sailed from FLL for several years. EM
  21. Oops! I see that you do have a pair of slacks in the bag. You might need them in London, too. I see you have a sweater…I might add a shawl to drape over your shoulders in the churches in Italy. No bare knees or shoulders. When in Spain and Italy churches are always on the tour…but I found it interesting that in Greece not one church was mentioned. EM
  22. I think for that itinerary I would pack/wear one pair long pants. I think Munich will be cooler than the Med. cities/ports. EM
  23. Arrival Breeze will sail from Galveston. EM
  24. It’s going to be in the 80s, probably high humidity. Stay in the shade and keep hydrated, preferably not with alcohol or caffeine. Or stay in a/c. EM
