  1. No transfers. We find at most ports that it is easier and less expensive, or close to the same cost to arrange private transfers especially at U.S. ports. At U.S. ports I just go to the taxi/uber area and get a cab.
  2. suzyed: As posted U.S. law will not allow you to board a non U.S. flagged vessel at one U.S. port and disembark at another U.S. port unless the ship visits a defined distant foreign port. Vancouver is a near foreign port as defined under the law. You mention that you wanted to board in L.A. disembarking in Seattle. Work out another plan. I would not try to disembark at a port such as Victoria. That would require special permission from Princess which you may or may not be able to get. You still would not be able to book the ongoing cruise from Vancouver as the Princess system has the ship's disembarkation port as Vancouver. You can read all the legal details by searching for the PVSA, Passenger Vessel Service Act. The act is over 100 years old.
  3. Luggage tags. I just print them out and carry them with me. When I'm at the hotel, or at home if going directly to the pier, the night before the cruise, I fold and attach one to each of the two handles on the luggage and seal them with clear tape. They have never come off. Even if they did the crew would be able to find your luggage by the name tag. Always bring a cover up, sweater, sweatshirt etc. It can be chilly throughout the ship. Are you going on the transatlantic from NYC which includes stops in Iceland, Greenland and other northern ports? If that is your itinerary bring along layered clothing including rain wear. The Atlantic can be chilly any time of the year. Doors are 22 inches wide. Yes, some people do decorate their doors. Some simple, some more elaborate, some just to more easily identify their cabin. All walls and doors are steel and will handle magnets.
  4. Was your 21 day cruise actually 3 one week cruises? Then yes shows will repeat. My experience on long voyages that are single cruises is that the production shows do not repeat. As for guest entertainers they may perform more than once, but different acts. These entertainers get on/off at the ports of call so they change.
  5. Crown Princess September 24th S.F. to Sydney? This cruise is a b2b of 2 cruises, S.F to Auckland and then Auckland to Sydney. If possible I would book as two separate booking numbers. If you have the plus or premier fares you would then get the fare benefits twice, certainly if you have sharholder's and military additional OBC, and you will be more flexible in case of fare changes or other unexpected events. Check out the pricing. It should be very close. I have sailed these long Pacific cruises a few times. There will be many sea days, 18 of them. Come prepared to participate in lots of cruise staff activities, some silly some not so silly. Don't just sit around. It will be hot with direct sun. Bring lots of sun screen. I have experienced both choppy, rolling waters as well as calm seas. If you get sea sick bring your meds. The crossing the equator event is something to see. Don't miss it. If you want to be one of the small number of passengers that represent all volunteer to the CD the first few days. Shows. Production shows will be shown once SF to Auckland and then again Auckland to Sydney. Guest entertainers may appear more once with different acts. These entertainers come and go at ports of call. DR menus will probably be different each evening, but menu items probably will repeat. No or very few youth on board. The sailing is at the start of the U.S. school year. I also believe that NZ and Australia schools are in session. It is a great experience. I love these long cruises.
  6. Grand Turk is a beach. As you walk off the dock there is a beach to the left. In front of you is a pier side mall with stores and a Margaritaville bar/restaurant/pool. I have been there maybe 4 or 5 times. Each time I turned left on the beach and walked the 1/4 mile or so down to Jack's Shack. There you can get a drink, some food, swim. If you walk through the mall area there are locals that can take you on various island tours and activities. San Juan. The ship docks at the cruise terminal in Old San Juan. Here are a few options: Visit San Felipe del Morrow National Historic Site. It is located all the way at the top of the hill at the entrance to the harbor. Take a taxi to the fort. After your visit walk downhill through Old San Juan back to the ship. Take a nice scenic walk along the harbor entrance on the Paseo del Morro. Part way along the Paseo you will find the historic city entrance. You can turn right up this entrance, enter the old city and walk back downhill to the ship. In either case bring along a map of Old San Juan. You can get lost. If you have enough time you could arrange a private tour, maybe with some fellow passengers from your roll call, to El Yunque National Rain Forest. It is around a 1 hour drive from the pier. Once there you walk a fairly rugged trail through the forest down to a swimming hole area. When I was there we did have downpours. Umbrella was needed. I think the NPS has them available.
  7. Whoever you spoke with is ill informed. OBC is just a credit on your on board account. If you have the standard fare then a daily gratuity charge of $16, $17 or $18 is posted to your account. This charge nets against any credit balance. It is automatic. When on board one does not specify the use of OBC. It's just a credit. If you have the plus or premier fare then the daily gratuity is included in the fare. No separate charge. Any excursion pre-booked or booked on board and any other on board expense. It will all net against the credit balance (OBC). The only exclusion is the purchase of FCDs. These are charged directly to your credit card. They do not go through the on board accounting system.
  8. Regarding my previous post, my cruise is at the end of February 2024.
  9. Every U.S. Princess cruise I have been on with U.S. ports of call the stops are made before the ship sails to a foreign port of call. Don't know what cruise ship or cruise line the poster is speaking about. It probably was a one way cruise which visited another country before its first US port of call at San Diego.
  10. Princess Cays. On the morning of the Princess Cays stop you show up at the shuttle ticket location, usually a DR. It is one ticket per person. Couples that wish to go ashore together have to both be there ready to go. One person can not obtain a ticket for another. Those that arrive earliest get on the earliest shuttles. Full suite passengers have priority shuttle boarding. Those passengers may have to report to the same DR as everyone else or it may be a separate location. There will be instructions in your cabin, usually in the daily event listing. No evening before or on the app. ON the return to the ship you just get in the line. No tickets, no priority. If you wait until later in the day the lines will be long. Plus and Premier fares include unlimited wifi internet access. If you have the standard fare you have to pay for internet. Believe it is $20/device/day. If you only have one device then you can share it. No need to purchase additional internet service. Your husband just uses your sign in or you remain signed in.
  11. Feb 17th RT San Francisco? You itinerary is S.F., sea, San Diego, Ensenada, sea, S.F. You will clear Immigration/Customs in San Francisco when you return from Ensenada your final and only foreign port of call.
  12. Here is what I did just 5 days ago. It worked perfect. I used my PC and not the phone app as I am not comfortable using the cell phone.
  13. Old or new slots. They are all set to pay roughly the same. Try table games.
  14. Have you asked on the P&O boards? Princess eliminated P&O counting toward Princess loyalty many years ago, but I don't know if the reverse is true.
  15. No dining packages. The Emerald Princess has two specialty restaurants, The Crown Grill $39/pp and Sabatini's $35/pp. If you are in a full suite specialty dining is included on boarding day evening. The premier fare includes two specialty restaurant visits. The Emerald Princess also has two casual restaurants, The Salty Dog Gastro Pub in the Wheelhouse Bar (not to be confused with the Salty Dog Grill by the lido pool), and Vines which is a wine bar as well as a casual dining location. You can pre-book specialty restaurants on line. Payment is required at the time on booking. You may also be able to wait until you board. When reserved on board the charge is posted to your onboard account and nets against any credit or debit balance. You can walk into any casual restaurant when they are open. The Emerald may also have the pop up Crab Shack and Planks & Steamers. Not certain. There is a live from the Emerald going on right now. You may want to follow.
  16. The first day on board call the dining line or maybe visit Sabatini's to see what reservation days & times are available. The charge, $35/pp, will be posted to your on board account and net against any OBC. As previously mentioned the system uses non refundable OBC first and then refundable. It's automatic. There is nothing you have to do. If your wish is to reserve a specific day and time then you will have to pre-book. Pre-booking requires pre-payment using your credit card. That's the way Princess has the system arranged.
  17. KKB. Also sailing a b2b with 2 booking numbers. I included both numbers in my email. If you also included both numbers the 2nd number may have been missed. I would email stockperks and ask them what to do.
  18. It was here on these CC boards. A very long thread. Post 186
  19. For Information, Good News: As reported on one of the other threads I emailed hello@stockperks.com with the required information and attached a redacted copy of my financial statement showing ownership of Carnival stock. Email was sent Thanksgiving morning, the 23rd. I received an automatic acknowledgement that they received my request. This morning, the 25th, I received another email stating the OBC was applied to my two booking numbers. I checked my bookings on the Princess web site and the OBC was posted. I did not use the app. The email process was very easy. Hope this is helpful to others.
  20. You don't make that decision. It's automatic. The OBC is posted to your on board account(s) as a credit. The on board accounting system nets any on board expense as it occurs against the credit balance. It uses non refundable first then refundable. If you are a couple linked to the same credit card each will have an on board account and there will also be a summary account.
  21. If you arrive at the pier around 10am, and being in a full suite you will be one the first groups to board. Boarding may begin as early as 10:30am to 11am, but be mentally prepared to wait. There will be crowds entering the terminal and going through security at this time.
  22. You must be checked in 90 minutes before sailing. That means the latest check in time is 1:30. With the delays reported at Galveston I think what others have mentioned, 11am is a good 'late' target.
  23. "For a ten-day round-trip cruise from San Francisco to Alaska with a stop at Rupert Island in Canada, having a valid driver's license should typically suffice for your journey." This thread is very old. For kemenmanuals' information what was mentioned is not sufficient for sea travel. Suggest a review of the CBPs's WHITI requirements for sea travel. Also suggest review of the cruise line's requirements which can require additional documentation specifically when one adult is traveling with a minor. In all cases requirements remain the same no matter if the passenger gets off or stays on the vessel at a port of call.
  24. It is almost always better to book as two separate booking numbers. The cost difference if any is normally small. Two booking numbers provide you with more flexibility with really no downsides. "If we are able to book the same cabin can we just leave our stuff in the cabin between cruises?" Yes. You will clear U.S. Immigration/Customs when boarding in Vancouver. Whitter will be treated just like any other port day. "If we have to switch cabins what would be the procedure for that? " Your cabin steward will arrange the switch and the transfer of your stuff to your new location. It is fairly easy to do. From one that has done many b2bs I would recommend trying to book the same cabin for both legs, and to have your booking marked "no upgrade." I always use a T.A. and they arrange to have the booking marked no upgrade. You can not do this on line. You can only do this through a telephone call. Your T.A. or if you have a Princess booking agent can handle it. I recommend a T.A. T.As commonly provide additional OBC. "Would you have to check-in at the terminal for the second cruise or could they just do that at guest services?" No. There is no check in for the 2nd leg. Your medallion will be valid for the entire time you are on board. On board accounts will roll over from the 1st to the 2nd leg. If you have a final balance due your credit card will be charged on your final disembarkation day.
  25. Gratuities are broken into two categories, Crew Appreciation and Service Charge. From the FAQ's. "What is “Crew Appreciation”? "A crew appreciation is a daily amount added to your onboard account, which is shared among the many members of our crew in hotel, dining and entertainment throughout the fleet who help make your cruise experience special. The daily amount of the Crew Appreciation is based on stateroom category." US$ PP/Day. $16 for interior, oceanview or balcony cat. cabin, $17 for mini suites and $18 for full suites. Service Charge. An 18% service charge is added to all beverage purchases and to spa services. Plus and Premier fares: If you have the Plus or Premier fare the crew appreciation and the beverage service charge is bundled into the fare. It can not be removed. If you order an alcoholic drink which cost more than the $15/$20 covered by these fares you will be charged the difference plus 18%. If you have the standard fare then your on board accounts will be charged daily for crew appreciation. All beverage purchases, alcoholic and non alcoholic will be charged the 18% service charge. With the standard fare it is possible to remove the crew appreciation by visiting passenger services. You can not remove the service charge.
