  1. I have experienced your scenario on Mexican itineraries that make the classic 3 port stops in Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerta Vallarta. Cabo and Mazatlan are on Pacific time while P.V is on Mountain time. Princess did not make the time change on the P.V. stop. But, I would think on the poster's itinerary there will be a time change before reaching P.V. The ship is sailing north from Panama to S.F. In January Panama will be on EST. Costa Rica and then Guatemala will be on CST. Clocks will move back one hour between Panama and Costa Rica. Puerta Vallarta is on MST, another hour back. Believe the ship will change the time to match P.V. time, the 2nd hour, on one of the sea days between Guatemala and P.V. The final hour will be between Puerta Vallarta and S.F.
  2. Just show up at the baggage are. The Princess rep will have your names. If you have not done so you may wish to add your self booked air into their system.
  3. When I booked, no excursions were available. There is over 14 months. Don't worry. Excursions will be ready in plenty of time. It's a good idea to join the roll call for your cruise. Private tours may be formed. Are there any adult-only areas on the Coral? The Sanctuary, decks 14 & 12 aft, fee area. If interested go directly there on boarding to book. For a tropical cruise like yours the sanctuary fills quickly. Believe there is a special fee for the P.C. crossing day. In January and for long cruises there will not be very many youth on board. Basically all areas will be youth free. Where are the smoking areas? Section of the casino, deck 6. Churchills, deck 7. Probably by the Bar & Grill on deck 15 above the Lido Pool. Probably a small standing section of the promenade starboard outside of The Universe Lounge. Smoking prohibited in all cabins and balconies. Note that the smell of smoke travels from the casino into the International Cafe area. How will time changes be handled? Princess adjusts the ship time to match local port time. When there is a time change you will be notified. You will be turning clocks back a total of 3 hours as you progress up the Pacific. Time changes are made overnight.
  4. Yes. Zeebrugge is closest to Bruges. Bruges is excellent city to walk around.
  5. Just a note. Fortified wines are not permitted.
  6. I highly recommend the Norway fjord midnight sun cruise. A few years ago we sailed the midnight sun cruise. It was two weeks just like the one you are thinking about. I have been on almost 50 cruises. This one stands out as one of the top few. The scenery is spectacular. The ports are amazing. The 24 hour daylight is something you may not experience again. Sitting around having a drink in what appears to be midday, but your watch says 1am. This cruise will sell out. I highly recommend it. We had great weather. But, be prepared, the North Cape can be cold. It was when we were there. The other ports were all comfortable. The sail out from Flam has some of the greatest scenery you will ever see. Snow capped mountains surround you as you lazily sail down the fjord. Allow lots of time. Adjust your dining schedule. The sail out takes around 3 hours. We joined a small group on a private tour in a van to visit the North Cape. It was a very good trip. The driver timed it so we arrived before the large bus loads from the ship excursions.
  7. $17.75. Many wines are in this area.
  8. Assume you are sailing on the Caribbean Princess b2b from Ft. Lauderdale, 11/5 & 11/12. You may find others on your trip by referring to the Caribbean Princess roll calls for your cruises.
  9. Priority tender to shore service isn't available at the platinum level. Only elite level and full suites have this benefit. For final disembarkation just visit passenger services and request the time. Princess tries to clear the entire ship by 9:30/10:00. There is an early walk off where you can wheel off all your own luggage. It's available to everyone. If you have flights to catch just mention the time to passenger services.
  10. Not automatic. Some things can be shared. Specifically what benefits are you interested in.
  11. For the early qualifiers you can select any song Princess has in their licensed Karaoke library. You can not just use any song you can find on line. Just like any karaoke session you can move the key up or down. You sing around two minutes of the song before it is cut off. Attached is an extensive list of Princess' available karaoke tracks. The finals are very different. If selected you are provided with a list of around 150 songs. Roughly half generally sung by males and half generally female. The live musicians have charts with fixed keys. No changes. These songs are also short versions of about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. You select one of those songs and practice with the live band. There will probably be a couple of practice sessions, one to finalize your song and the other an on stage rehearsal. Princess karaoke_song_list (1).pdf
  12. What $3.20? The plus and premier packages include the 18% beverage service charge. Nothing is added.
  13. When you look at the photo in post #84 notice coverings on the stern of the ship that look something like plywood. Anyone know what this is for? Is there some sort of re-building going on in this area?
  14. Basically quarter sized and a little thicker. Contains a small battery. It is used on board like a cruise card. There are sensors around the ship. Crew and your selected friends & family can locate you anywhere on board. You can order drinks and food items with the medallion app for delivery any where on the ship. Crew will be able to locate you. As you approach your cabin door your door will unlock.
  15. Port Canaveral is nice for those that live nearby. For those that fly Ft. Lauderdale is more convenient arriving and departing by air.
  16. Just assume the ship will be booked full. Also assume if you are booking summer Alaska that the ship will be overfull with families occupying the 3rd and 4th berths in many cabins.
  17. Only if you are travelling to certain areas of Brazil. Not the costal towns where ships visit.
  18. Yes, specialty coffee and espresso drinks as well as brewed coffee are included unlimited. If you add alcohol to a coffee drink, such as Irish Coffee, then that counts as one alcoholic beverage.
  19. PH2. I like to think about the cost as per person per day using by using the benefits that will probably be used while on board. Crew Appreciation = $16. Wifi = $15. Ocean Now & phone room service fee = about $0.75. Casual dining = $2. Total rounded down $33/day. Remainder is $27/day. Specialty coffees are unlimited as are other non alcoholic beverages, water, juice (breakfast juice is no charge), sodas, mocktails and so on. One specialty coffee is around $5/6. Sodas around $3. Depending on how many non alcoholic beverages you consume the remainder is below $25/day. That amount relates to around 2 to 3 alcoholic beverages per day. Even if you don't consume any non alcoholic beverages and never use the casual dining and Ocean Now it is worth the value.
  20. 1. Yes. You probably will not be able to consume more than 2 per cruise. Very little value. 2. Most drinks are under $15 including most straight spirits. Some better wines are over $15 as are some specialty spirits. If over $15 you are charged the difference + 18%. Example for a $19 drink you will be charges $4.72. Doubles? Some bartenders will charge you for two drinks. You also have the option of just ordering two drinks and pouring them together. No time limit between drinks. 3. Both are specialty restaurants. I'm not certain what casual restaurants are available on the Island Princess. There may be Alfredo's at Sabatini's for lunch. 4. Yes. Delivery anywhere you are including to your cabin. There is a menu of available options.
  21. I don't book a cruise vacation based on internet speeds. As long as I can receive & send a few e-mails that's enough.
  22. You might wish to read this. Refer to post #175
  23. Post #2 reference is accurate for Island cabins forward of the aft section cabins that were added some time ago.
