  1. This is standard on Princess and many other cruise lines. If you have a fare that includes the crew appreciation, such as the plus fare, then you can not remove it. If you have a no frills fare and are charged by the day you may request the tip to be removed at passenger services. Believe current onboard procedures now allow Princess crew members to retain any cash tips they receive. It is up to you if you wish to leave the auto-gratuity in place or have it removed. Most passengers do leave it in place, guessing over 99%, and many passengers like ourselves provide extra rewards to our cabin steward and other crew on the ship such as waiters that served us during the trip.
  2. No. Onboard wi-fi is free to all and can be accessed using a smart phone or device. Some applications, example, location on the ship, ordering using Ocean Now and others can be accomplished from your cabin TV or screens around the ship. All you require is your medallion for this.
  3. It kind of indicates that Princess will be raising drink prices for many of its alcoholic beverages above the current $12 where most of them are now.
  4. It's an academic exercise. Cruise the line and itineraries you enjoy and accept the loyalty benefits they provide as they are.
  5. Try Crooner's, deck 6 mid ship starboard, Take Five, deck 6 forward port or Crown Grill Bar on Deck 7 starboard aft. Sorry no vista views.
  6. Just ask when you order. Of course non-alcoholic beverages have no limit.
  7. Breakfast depends on port times. Generally 6:30 to 9am on port days and 7 to 9:30 on sea days. Lunch in the DR is served only on sea days and is normally noon to 1:30 Dinner begins at 5pm in at least one or two DRs. Latest entry is usually 9:30pm. You can find the times (maybe) on the Dine My Way app. No special meals the first night. Carry on. Depends on when you board. Most times if you board after 11:30am you can go to your cabin, drop your carry on and place your stuff in the cabin safe. But, this does vary by ship and port. There is one DR open for lunch on boarding day from either 11:30 to 1pm or from noon to 1:30. It is easy to bring your carry on with you when you have lunch.
  8. No. It does not make financial sense. You can pay for laundry on your month long cruise for less than it would cost to book 5 cruises. Take the 5 short cruises if you want to cruise not to become elite.
  9. No not on the Enchanted. On Royal Class ships only the Majestic has a similar feature. Grand Class ships have Skywalker's Lounge or similar aft. The only upper deck lounge sitting area in the front of the ship is The Sanctuary, The Sanctuary is an outdoor lounging area for daytime use where you have a reserved lounge. There is a fee to use this area. Go there on boarding day to book you spot and day(s).
  10. Not really. Wait until the ship you are on sails and then ask for copies of the menus here on CC.
  11. I would say soon, May or June.
  12. Believe Plus fares apply to all passengers in a cabin. Those 21+ (or drinking age in some non US locations) will receive the Premier Beverage Package. Minors will receive the non alcoholic package. PP is only available if all guests in a stateroom participate in PP (as determined by booking method)......Premier Beverage Package (“PBP”) is only valid for guests 21+. Guests under 21 booked under PP will receive the Premier Coffee & Soda Package in lieu of PBP and will not receive any refund for the difference. A daily limit on alcoholic beverages will apply. Bar service charges are included in the package and are paid on behalf of the guest for qualifying beverages included in the PBP.
  13. Ask at passenger services if they are airing and if so what channel. Might be shown on the TVs in Club Fusion or in the casino.
  14. Same menu in both. Provence will have a section blocked off for Club Class Dining, thus less available seating for those not in Club Class Dining. It is difficult to say what time to dine in order to make the shows since there is no current experience. The Coral does have two showrooms, The Princess Theater and The Universe Lounge. Some evenings there could be shows in both at different times. Rule of thumb the earlier you dine the easier it is to make shows, allow 2 hours to dine, less if you have a table for two. In the past we always selected anytime dining and altered out dining time each day to fit what we wished to do in the evening. I don't know how this would work now with DMW.
  15. Changkp. Are Princess' Royal Class ships too large to dock in Hilo and Nawilwli? Princess is skipping these ports.
  16. 2022/2023 are already available. If your are speaking about fall/winter 2023/2024 I would think they should be available soon, maybe this month or June.
  17. Typically Princess leaves the Caribbean in April and sends their ships to Europe or Alaska. They have been keeping the Caribbean Princess in the Caribbean until late July. They then send the ship north to Quebec to sail the Quebec to NY route. Princess ships return to the Caribbean in the fall, October or November.
  18. The Premier Beverage Package if purchased separately is US$59.99 + 18% = $70.79/pp/day and must be purchased for all days of the cruise.
  19. Princess already has a the New Grounds Coffee Package which includes 15 specialty coffee drinks plus unlimited brewed coffee, specialty teas and hot chocolate. It costs about $35. https://www.princess.com/html/global/personalizer/ssv/beverages/coffee-package-disclaimer/ If you book the plus fare the cost per person per day is around $40 extra. When you subtract the cost of the wi-fi and the daily gratuities it takes about 2 alcoholic beverages pp/day to break even. It is a good value. You don't have to stress to reach the 15 alcoholic beverages per day. Plus with the plus fare you get unlimited specialty coffees, brewed coffee, fountain sodas, and other non alcoholic beverages. There are also soda packages and non alcoholic beverage packages.
  20. These are all docked ports. If the weather is bad or windy Nawilwili is skipped. The ship has to make "S" turns on a narrow channel to get to the pier.
  21. As far as I have read the Coral Princess was the only ship that had Alfredo's @ Sabatini's on some days. Don't know if it retain this feature when she sails again.
  22. If you arrive at Whitter around 1pm you should have no issues boarding fairly quickly. Many passengers boarding in Alaska are arriving at the end of a Princess cruise tour and boarding is spread out automatically.
  23. No shuttles at any of these ports. Honolulu. It is a very large city with lots of hotels and condos. "Downtown" by Waikiki Beach area shopping tends to be in high end stores that are inside of hotels. Also lots of ABC stores. There are public busses on Ala Moana Blvd. The bus stops are a short distance walk from Pier 2 ship terminal. You would have to research which bus number to take to get where you wish to go. Return busses are on Kapiolani Blvd. If you happen to dock at the Aloha Tower there are a few stores right there, but not many. At one time there was a Walmart shuttle, but I don't think you want that. If you really just want to shop go to the Ala Moana Center shopping mall. It is a big mall, lots of walking. Suggest you book private or ship tours or take Uber/Lyft/taxis. There are many natural, historic and Polynesian sites that you can visit either by guided tours or you can rent a car. Would be difficult to actually drive and park in the Waikiki area. Lahaina, Maui. This is a tender port. The tender lets you off right next to the Banyan Tree Park and right in the heart of the downtown shopping area. No shuttle required. In the past you had to return to the port early for return to the ship as the tender lines get long and there is no shade. The Lahaina port has been under construction and ships have been sailing to Kahului on the other side of the island. If Lahaina port construction has been completed by December then maybe more tenders can dock thus making the return lines shorter. Whale watching is a popular tour in Maui. Book early. Kona. Princess seldom visited Kona, a tender port. They usually visit Hilo on the other side of the island. Believe the tender lets you off at Kailua Bay. There is some shopping right around there. The big attraction is the volcano, but from Kona these are probably all day tours. Check out your rollcall to see what others are planning.
  24. Forget the swim suits. Many times I have found items from previous cabin occupants. Turned them over to the cabin steward. From that point never knew what happened. I suspect there are many items left behind on every voyage. Probably more than the ship can handle, sort and return.
  25. Would think very few passengers, if any, would disembark at PEI on the 27th. The 28th would be the next to the last evening.
