  1. It has been erupting for at least 40 to 50 years. I was there in 1989 and drove to the southern tip of the island. Witnessed a lava waterfall plunging into the ocean forming new land. It was quite spectacular, very hot and very sulfur smelling.
  2. I would check the information on the Princess booking confirmation passenger copy. Final payment date is printed there.
  3. There are no extra benefits on Princess Cays for having the premier package. There are no benefits for being platinum loyalty level. If you want to be one of the earlier arrivals at Princess Cays arrive at the tender ticket location early. It takes quite a while to tender all passengers to the beach area.
  4. The Caribe deck balconies are 9ft x 9ft. When the ship was built there were originally 2 lounges, 2 chairs and a large table on these balconies. A 3rd chair would fit without any problem. If the steward could arrange to get a lounger from one of the pool decks it would easily fit on the balcony. There is always the possibility that an extra balcony chair will not fit through the cabin door.
  5. "If the cruise sails at 4:00, try to get there around 2:00." Lots of reasons why some can not delay arriving at the pier. The biggest may be that people just want to be on board, start their vacation voyage and are more than willing to face the crowds. Flight arrivals, hotel check out times are just a few other reasons people arrive early. There is the thinking of why should I hang around a hotel lobby when I can be on board having a cold beer, martini and a lunch that I have already paid for. In all my sailings I never had personal issues dealing with the terminal boarding crowds. Some may, I do not. My advice. Do what is comfortable for you.
  6. "Ukulele prices have a very wide price range. You should decide if you want a soprano (small/regular), concert, tenor, or baritone." Novice learners should note that in addition to being much larger a baritone ukulele is tuned in a different key than the other three sizes. Tiki Dave's teaching sessions are charted out for traditional tuning. I would not recommend a baritone ukulele for a beginner.
  7. We were denied free baggage by United when we booked through EZ Air even though we paid for the cruise with the United credit card. I think you have to check with your credit card company and review the terms and conditions.
  8. Prosecco. If Princess stocks this sparkling wine then you can order it by the glass. I don't know the cost, but if a glass is $15 or less it is included in the plus package. If the cost is greater then you pay the difference + 18%. Wines by the bottle are not included. You do get a 25% discount of you order a bottle.
  9. Tropical cruise, yes you have to board early and go directly there. Non tropical cruise, example New England/Canada, it is cool and not as busy.
  10. A standard 30 inch suitcase that is 11 inches deep will slide under the bed. If it does not fit there is plenty of space at the end of the open closet to stand it there. As far as I know the cabin steward does not store passenger's luggage.
  11. Over 40 Princess cruises and never have experienced this. I would not count on it.
  12. Nice cabin. Large balcony partially covered. Refer to this site http://www.cruisedeckplans.com/Princess/odell/res76zxu/princessbalconies/id3.html
  13. Have you considered a mini suite? More room for 4 people.
  14. "The cruise we have booked has 12 more nights and all drinks included," Plan will include a max. of 15 alcoholic beverages per day and unlimited for most non-alcoholic beverages.
  15. If you purchase a stand alone beverage package then that is individual. If you purchase one of the inclusive fares then the first two passengers in the cabin both are required to purchase the inclusive fare. As a note the stand alone beverage package is not very cost effective. Do the math.
  16. Your can not add a future cruise deposit to an existing booking. You can request that the $100 be used as part of the balance due payment, but no OBC will be applied. You can also cancel the existing booking and make a new booking using the FCDs. If you purchase additional FCDs next m9onth they will be good for one year from the purchase.
  17. Some info. All the pools and bars remain open as normal. If you encounter rough seas the Captain may close off the pools for safety reasons. It probably will be cooler. It was when we sailed this itinerary a few years ago. Not many really sit around the pools as they do in the Caribbean. Bring a light jacket if you wish to hang outside on deck. If you purchase full or half day(s) sanctuary use you select an assigned chair. You are free to come and go during your purchased time. Your chair will be there.
  18. A section of the Coral DR, deck 6 mid ship is used for reserve class dining. The Palm DR is on deck 6 aft. Access to/from this DR is from the aft stairs or elevators on deck 7 and above. No direct access from the ship's public areas.
  19. The August 3rd Norway Fjords. We sailed a longer RT Southampton to the Norwegian fjords that went all the way to North Cape. It was one of our most memorable sailings. spectacular scenery. Would suggest you also look at a similar cruise.
  20. Maybe 18 to 20 months before the start of the season. That would be Oct to Dec this year.
  21. Princess' pre-cruise hotel packages usually pick up at the hotel around 1pm. There may be stops at a few hotels. For future planning just book the hotel on your own and grab a cab or uber from the hotel to the pier.
  22. No restrictions. I have to warn you that the decorations are sometimes pilfered by other passengers. It has happened to us a number of times. Our door decoration was used to identify the cabin because of low vision.
  23. If you are sitting in the hot tub you can also just call over a waiter. I don't think you would want your phone in or near the hot tub. Same with your medallion although I understand that the medallion is not affected by water. Make note of post #4. Both drinks could be and probably will be charged to one of the accounts. You may have to keep track yourself if one of you closes in on 15 drink limit. You can determine how many drinks were charged to your accounts by asking at a bar. I'm not certain if that is shown in the app.
  24. It is a bar. It was originally named Mermaid's Tail Bar. Was renamed at some point during a dry dock. Its main function is to prepare drinks for waiters that serve the Lido Pool area. Most days it opens mid morning and closes mid evening, pool hours. Remains open if there is a deck party. You can sit there, but the stools are not comfortable, and do not move from stationary positions. It isn't used by passengers very much as a traditional sit around bar. Many passengers that use the Lido Pool area just walk up to the bar, get their drink(s) and then return to their lounge chairs or tables. The other Lido Pool area bar is the Calypso Bar adjacent to the Calypso pool and just below MUTS. This bar opens early in the morning for those that wish to order a breakfast drink from the buffet waiters. It remains open during the showing of the MUTS movies. Like The Mix it really isn't a comfortable sit around bar. If the OP is thinking about a group for a bar crawl I believe that passengers watching MUTS would not be happy with them if they show up in the evening.
  25. You would receive full suite benefits which include reserve class dining plus lots of other stuff. In addition if you sail on one of the new sun class ships there will be a special DR, and other full suite locations.
