  1. It is not mentioned on the Princess web site deck plans. It is known from experience of being on Grand Class ships. If you go to the site below, select the deck you want and then select the cabin guru box there will be text which mentions information regarding the cabins and balconies. https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Sapphire-Princess
  2. Probably around 9am. I would not book a Princess transfer. Taxis are right at the pier. The cost for a private taxi is just about the cost of a Princess transfer. Remember Princess charges per person. Taxi is per ride. Also, Princess transfer busses do not leave until they are full.
  3. Most likely a Zumba like session. These are usually held in the mornings on sea days.
  4. As mentioned you can only use OBC pre-cruise to book excursions. If you don't want the charge then you have to cancel. If your friends have already booked, then on boarding day go with them to the restaurant and ask to be added to their table. It may work.
  5. Sapphire Deck 10, Caribe deck, 9ft x 9ft half covered. Also mini suites on deck 9, 9ft x 6ft uncovered and deck 8 aft covered. There are also aft facing balconies as well as forward facing balconies that are larger. Also B746/7. The deck plans are your friend,. Check them out.
  6. Ditto. Any credit balance (OBC) has rolled over. But, I would check with passenger service once on board as Princess has been making lots of changes.
  7. Simple answer, No. Simple question why would you want to?
  8. There will not be a specific Caribbean theme evening. However, Caribbean island shirts and other wear are popular throughout the cruise. Most Caribbean cruises I have been on have a Caribbean deck party one of the evenings. You see lots of bold print Caribbean/Hawaiian shirts. There will be two formal evenings. Formal is MDR attire, not entire ship. Formal can be anything from smart casual to truly formal and anything in between. You will not find too many passengers in true formal wear. There may be a white & gold event. From what I have read on these boards hardly anyone dresses that way. They just show up in whatever they are wearing.
  9. I am assuming that you are speaking about a Princess tour. My experience is that the busses will not have a restroom. Even if the bus did have a usable restroom, they are very small and difficult to use. My experience also is that your bus and driver will remain with you, and that you can leave items on the bus. If you look at the "Excursion Detains" of your shore excursion there will be specifics regarding all the stops, how long they are, time at each stop, how often you get off and back on the bus, and if there will be a rest room available.
  10. The Captain's Circle early booking benefit has always been there. Sometimes there is a benefit, sometimes not. It pays to check every time.
  11. I always book separately to provide more flexibility. I don't worry too much about the small difference plus or minus in cost. Once on board your booking(s) are treated as one with a single billing at the end of your time on board. Your medallion will have your initial embarkation date and your final disembarkation date. On the money/benefit side: In addition to the fares check the OBC, two 7day vs one 14 day. There is a difference in the military or shareholder's benefit. There could be differences in Princess' promo OBC as well as T.A's OBC. A plus fare will get you 2 casual dining per booking number, ie 4 casual dining if booked as two cruises vs 2 if booked as one. Premier fare is similar for specialty restaurants.
  12. I have been on a number of cruises with port changes or missed ports. You probably would enjoy yourself staying on board. Relaxing Thanksgiving. If you require assistance boarding or disembarking you can request wheelchair assistance. If you require a wheelchair for getting around on board your really need to bring your own. For information Princess' cabin doorways are 22 inches wide.
  13. I have never seen a masquerade night on any Princess sailing. Exception Mardi Gras where some passengers bring/make/wear masks.
  14. I don't see why you can not. It is just an empty glass bottle and there is no prohibition against bringing an empty bottle onto the ship. The worst case is that you may get some questions.
  15. There is no 1st hand passenger experience for these new class of ships. I don't see any balcony cat. cabins in my brief review of the deck plans. I do see plenty of the deluxe balcony cat. cabins as well as mini suites and cabana mini suites. Sun class stateroom diagrams show that the cabin design on sun class ships is different than grand and royal class ships. In your case the past does not represent the new sun class. If what Princess told you is correct then the lower queen bed would be split into the twin configuration and the upper berths would lower from the ceiling. But, this may also be incorrect and just partial information on how grand and royal class balcony cat., not deluxe balcony cat., cabins are configured. Even that information is incorrect for grand/royal class ships since in mini suites the sofa is used as the 3rd berth and the 4th berth is lowered from the ceiling over the sofa. I would think that on all of the categories you mention for the Sun Princess the sofa comes into play. It could be that the 3rd berth is the sofa with the 4th berth lowered from the ceiling over the sofa. I would ask Princess again. They are the only ones that really know, but the customer service reps may not have a clue. I would ask a T.A. for assistance. T.A.'s have different contacts.
  16. Not really. If after you purchase the FCDs you cancel the current Nov. 2024 booking and rebook yes, but you will already have a deposit in place. The only thing you would be losing is some OBC from $15 to $150 depending on the length of the cruise and the cabin category.
  17. I will add that access to the Palm DR is only from the aft elevators or stairs on deck 7 or above. To access the ship's public areas from the Palm DR you have to go back up to deck 7 or above and walk forward.
  18. What's the dining experience like, is it same table every night? You can dine in one of the 3 Main Dining Rooms alone or join others. They all have the same menu. There is no traditional same table/same waiter dining. You make a reservation on the Princess Medallion App or in the on line version. You can select same time same DR every evening or a different time each evening. You can also just walk up and ask to be seated. You can also dine in the World Fresh Market Place buffet any time. It is open from 6am until around 11pm every day. There are also specialty restaurants, Crown Grill, Sabatini's & The Catch. These have an upcharge. You make reservations on line pre-cruise. The cost is charged directly to your credit card. You can also wait until you board and see what times are available. There are also a number of casual restaurants which are $15 each. If you have the plus fare you can dine at two of them without charge. Unlimited casual dining is included in the premium fare. Dress in the main DRs is smart casual most evenings. There will be some formal evenings. Formal dress is anything from smart casual to formal and everything in between. Do Princess have events/meet ups for solo travellers? Normally yes, but they may not be well attended. Another option is to join the Cruise Critic Roll Call for your specific cruise. I have seen very active roll calls with lots of get togethers and private tours planned, and I have seen roll calls that are not active at all. You never know in advance. Can I book shore excursions with Princess? Yes. You can do this pre-cruise on line. Cost is charged directly to your credit card when booked. If you have OBC you can use it to cover all or some of the cost of excursions. You can also wait and book excursions after you board. There probably will be limited excursions available on board. Are there quiet areas I can sit and read without being in my cabin all the time? There probably will not be many truly quiet areas. During daytime hours you can try on of the lounges that open later in the day. There are also sections above the Lido Pools which are kind of out of the way of most traffic and people. You have to search around. Gathering areas tend to change each cruise depending on the passengers.
  19. All have the same menu and basically the same decor. If you want to try and arrange a same time, table & waiters by speaking with the head waiter you probably will have a better chance in the Palm DR, deck 6 aft as this DR is larger. The Palm DR is accessed by elevator or stairs from decks 7 and above. After dinner to access the rest of the ship's public areas you have to go to deck 7 or above and walk forward. A starboard side section of the Coral DR, deck 6 mid ship, is used for reserve class dining. This limits seating in the remaining part of the DR. The outside waiting area for this DR is small. The Island DR is in the Piazza on deck 5 mid ship. It is convenient to pre dinner cocktails at the Good Spirits Bar and wine at Vines.
  20. "So you don't buy tickets for the shows? Are they all considered complimentary? We do have the Premier Package..." No tickets. All shows are free and walk in. You indicated you have the premier fare. For production shows only there will be a reserved section of seats blocked in the theater. These reserved seats are unblocked maybe 15 to 10 minutes before showtime, so arrive before they are unblocked. All other theater shows do not have any reserved seating. For popular entertainer shows, such as a good comedian or singer, arrive at least 30 minutes early.
  21. Specialty Restaurants. Yes, Crown Grill & Sabatini's. But I believe there will be additional ones that have not yet been announced. Also true for casual dining locations. Some not yet announced.
  22. Princess does have defined policy. Wine 1 x 750ml per adult no charge at embarkation. Additional bottles charged $20/bottle corkage. Soda water and other non alcoholic beverages. 12 x 12 ounce cans or cartons per person. Enforced??
  23. Crisps are chips in British speak, and chips are fries.
  24. Interiors and amenities of all balcony category cabins are the same. Interior size is not larger. Most 'premium' balcony category cabins have larger balconies, but not all. Check the deck plans. Not all cabins on deck 10 with larger balconies are designated 'premium'. Again check the deck plans.
  25. I will mention: Alcoholic beverages up to $15 for the plus fare, $20 for the premier fare, are included. Many of the good wines are higher priced than $15. In that case you will be charged the difference plus 18%. Bottles of wine are not included in the 15 drink limit. If you order a bottle of wine you will charged the menu price less a 25% discount.
