  1. I arrive around 9;30 am & never had any problems finding a ported as they LOVE my money. Iā€™ve never had any problems with the people leaving the ship. Just my opinion. TomšŸ˜€
  2. There is an excellent Jazz Cafe right next to the pier for excellent food & drinks. TomšŸ˜€
  3. Since I live in San Francisco for boarding I usually arrive around 9;30 am, usually a very short line, & around 10 am we are let into the terminal. Boarding is usually around 11;30 am. Iā€™m also able to drop off my bags too. I prefer to avoid long lines as Iā€™m told that may be longer the longer that you wait. I prefer to be on the ship when their are only a few people. Yes you could drop off your bags & come back later. I would arrive back by 3 pm. TomšŸ˜€
  4. Thank you very much. I also emailed them but this was great. šŸ˜€šŸ˜€šŸ˜€šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ TomšŸ˜Ž
  5. Thanks! Very helpful. TomšŸ˜€
  6. Does anyone know or have experience if Princess, once on board upon request, will provide a chair to use in the shower? I recently had a back injury & a shower chair would be helpful. Thanks! TomšŸ˜Ž
  7. Iā€™m curious if while onboard they could have helped you. Where on the ship did you go for that? TomšŸ˜Ž
  8. We have an excellent BART system from SFO & if you can manage your luggage take it into the city & get off at the Embarcadero station & from there you can get a taxi. The other option that I have used is either Uber/Lyft to fishermanā€™s wharf. TomšŸ˜€
  9. I've lived here since 1967 so here are some of my suggestions. Yes staying in the Wharf area is a great idea. Itā€™s close to many things shops & restaurants. Plan on several days so youā€™re not rushed to see everything. Make sure you get a MUNI pass so you can get on & off MUNI easily. We have a great Street Car MUNI system, the F Line, with historic cars from all over the world & from Fishermanā€™s Wharf itā€™s easy to get around plus there is stop right at pier 35, our cruise terminal. Go to pier 39, lots of shops & restaurants, & some restaurants give a discount for any veteran & their party. Take the F line to the end of the line, our Castro District. Have a drink at the Twin Peaks bar thatā€™s at the end of the line. Plenty of restaurants & shops there. We have a great underground MUNI Metro system from the Castro station that will take you back to downtown. if you plan to visit Alcatraz make plans early for your tickets as the space can sell out early. Visit our Westfield Mall at Powell & Market street with many shops & a large food court at the lower level. Donā€™t forget a trip on our Cable Cars. Donā€™t stand in the long line at Powell & Market but go up 2 blocks to Oā€™Farrell Street & avoid the long lines. If youā€™re interested in how our Cable Car System works get off & see our Cable Car Barn where you will see the cables going in & out to the street with an excellent video of how everything works. Stop at our China Town, the largest in the US. An easy walk from the Cable Car Line. The Hyde cable car line that runs near China Town, will take to Girardelli Square, our old Chocolate Factory . Have an Irish coffee or hot chocolate or brunch at the Buena Vista CafĆ©, at the end of the line, where more Irish coffee/Hot Chocolate is served than anywhere in the US. Youā€™re also near the Wharf area. We also have a nice Japan Town with many shops & restaurants & easy to get there on our MUNI system. I arrive around 9:30 am at the Pier 35 Cruise terminal, very short line at that time, & about 10 am they let us into the terminal & boarding is around 11-11:30. Itā€™s great to avoid long lines & to be one of the 1st to board the ship. Any other questions please ask. TomšŸ˜€
  10. I use EzAir without having to use my TA. Everything I have done has usually been on my own. I would only involve my TA if I couldnā€™t figure something out. As you see in my posts I went into my EzAir for fun to see if I could change my seat assignment & I had no problem to do so. I have even canceled my booking & made a new booking when the fare or flight was better. Any other questions please ask. TomšŸ˜€
  11. Yesā€¦.That's interesting when someone starts a thread with questions & never replyā€™s back. CC should ban that person from posting.
  12. Iā€™ve always had a microphone, done about 15-20 Meet & Greets, & have found it very helpful. Iā€™ve been told of a charge but once Iā€™m in the room they will provide one. Only once did they change our room & they put signs up. Since Iā€™m well known with the Princess staff on the ships last year after my Meet & Greet one of the officers approach me & presented me with this photo on a piece of metal. Very expensive. One thing that Iā€™ve always do is to invite the ships photographer to do a group photo in all of my meetings. Thatā€™s how I got that photo. Plus I have a record of who was there. TomšŸ˜€
  13. I just looked at my December 6th flight with EzAir & if I wanted to change my seat assignment I was able to do so. TomšŸ˜€
  14. Iā€™ve always been able to pick my seats so thatā€™s never been a problem. For me one advantage is that Iā€™m not paying for my booking through EzAir until my final payment is due. Iā€™m continually checking the airfare fare & when the price has gotten lower, as it has many times, my agent has changed my booking to the new fare & if I have found a better deal I can change to that too. I couldnā€™t do any of that if I had already paid for my fare. My flight from SFO - FLL on December 6, returning December 23, 2023, on United , economy, is now $649.60. Through EzAir I only paid $495.82. Thatā€™s a difference of $153.78. Iā€™m real happy with that & when wanting to book Iā€™ve found that many times the EzAir was much less than booking directly through the airlines. Why would you NOT consider using EzAit? TomšŸ˜€

  16. Thanks I always have both my IPhone + my IWatch fully charged. I always have my boarding pass loaded on my phone but I think UNITED at the airport could print one out plus I have a code if necessary. At the airport I just put my phone on there machine & it takes care of everything. Thanks for your suggestion. I never leave my house without a fully charged phone plus Iā€™ll have charging cables with me so my phone is kept charged while Iā€™m on the plane. Thanks again! TomšŸ˜€
  17. When I called they mentioned I already had a close seat plus their English language was so so & they didnā€™t understand a lot of what I was explaining. Guess I should have called back. Would you call again? TomšŸ˜€
  18. Thanks for yours & everyoneā€™s tips & suggestionā€™s. TomšŸ˜€šŸ‘
  19. FYIā€¦I just called United & it was very difficult to explain why I was calling. Because I paid for an upgrade yesterday it was difficult to ask any questions & get the right person. O well. Tom
  20. I found a number on the United web site to call for ā€œUnited is dedicated to providing convenient and comfortable service to all of our customers. If you need to request any special accommodations, please let us know ahead of time by callingā€ & it took me to a company, not United, wanting to give me an emergency device to wear. The person was very curt on the phone when I asked if they were from United. What does the letter from your doctor say? Guess Iā€™ll call the main United number. Too bad as I just paid yesterday to upgrade my seats. Thanks for your help! TomšŸ˜€
  21. Interesting as I just paid for an upgrade. I guess I need to talk to United to see what I can do. Now to see if there is a special number with United to call. Thanks for your information. TomšŸ˜€
  22. Thanks! I already have Pre-Check. Wouldnā€™t travel without it. TomšŸ˜€
  23. Thanks to everyoneā€™s replies & suggestions. Extremely helpful. My plan is to upgrade to Economy Plus. More room & close to the restroom. Iā€™ll make arrangements for the wheelchair. I can get around like to the restroom as Iā€™ll try a get a seat close. $169 each way to upgrade but on a long flight itā€™s worth it. I'm way in the back of the plane. Iā€™ll check with United. My boarding pass will be on my phone. What happens going through security? Again a BIG thanks for everyoneā€™s help & suggestionā€™s. TomšŸ˜€šŸ˜€šŸ˜€šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘Œ
  24. I'm on the Emerald Princess, December 9, 2023, 14 day Caribbean cruise. TomšŸ˜€
  25. Iā€™m on a Princess cruise in December flying from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale. I may have to travel with a walker & fly on an airplane? Anyone traveled like this & if so what happened? I couldnā€™t find a forum for this Iā€™ll be on United. Any help appreciated. TomšŸ˜€
