  1. Turn on the ships bridge camera on the TV. As it gets bright outside you TV will also get bright. Tom😀
  2. Can my OBC be applied to excursions booked before the cruise? Thanks! Tom😀
  3. I’ll be on the Discovery Princess in October. Hopefully the current officers will be the same b I use the names for my invites to our Meet & Greet. Tom😀
  4. Anyone know how to reach the advertisement department of Princess? I’ve seen a photo that I think that they might be interested in. Thanks! Tom😀
  5. Since I live in San Francisco Princess has been the main cruise line here. That’s one of the main ports in the West Coast, San Francisco. Before the Pandemic San Francisco was the main port for Princess until they started moving other Princess ships here. Now with Carnival there a 2nd cruise line & they use our old cruise terminal, Pier 35 as Princess uses our new terminal Pier 27. If you look at the Princess site for cruises from San Francisco you will see many cruise including the Panama Canal throughout the year. I’m going to Hawaii in November on Princess. Tom😀
  6. They have many cruises to Alaska. Use this link….https://www.princess.com/search-cruise/results/ to see the Alaska Cruises from San Francisco on Princess. Many other cruises throughout the year with Princess from San Francisco. Next cruise to Alaska on Princess on June 9, 2022. Tom😀
  7. I’ve cruised on Princess from San Francisco many times during different months & never experienced any real ruff weather. Perhaps I was lucky. I’m on the Miracle August 8, 2022 so I’ll see what the weather is like. Tom😀
  8. Perhaps someone that’s currently on a cruise can ask that question. I would post your question on the thread for the current ship you will be cruising on & let us know what they say. Tom😀
  9. Suggestion to ask your question on the “Chat” feature & let us know what they say. Tom😀
  10. I’ve organized & done many chef’s table on Princess for CC members & they have never gotten out of hand. Perhaps it’s because it’s an older crowd. I’m going to Alaska from San Francisco have signed up for the chef’s table. I’m aware the reputation on Carnival of a younger party crowd but I’m looking forward to a great meal. On Princess they ask if anyone has any food issues. Does Carnival do the same? Anybody have any recent copies of the chef’s dinner? Thanks! Tom😀
  11. I send a letter to all of the Principal Offers inviting them to come. I leave my copies at the Guest Service Desk when I board the ship. If you contact me at trbarton743 at aol dot com I’ll send you a copy of what I use. Princess use to provide me a copy of the officers but since they no longer do this I go onto the thread for the cruise prior to mine & ask if someone can copy the board for me that has all of the officers. Depending how clear the photo is this can be a big help. Tom😀

  13. Is Carnival checking your arrival times or does it not matter when you arrive? Tom😀
  14. I’ve done the same thing in the Casino with my OBC but would have never ask at the cashier desk because I felt it would raise a red flag. In the past we were not supposed to use OBC in the casino but if nobody said anything I figured why not. Tom😀
  15. Here’s the benefits of both cruise lines so you can compare. Since I like Princess for so many reasons what Carnival offers for being Elite would not be a deciding factor for me as the cruise line & my experiences would be the deciding factor.
  16. Another suggestion is to use the Chat feature vs a possible long wait on the phone. Tom😀
  17. It was found & I tipped the steward for all of his help. My photo helped & I think it came off as they were hosing thinks down. My lesson learned, take if off on a B2B. Tom😀
  18. I’ve been on a number of cruises, the last time in February, & had the same time every night, 5 pm, No problems. Here’s myself with the dinning room staff who welcomed me each night. Look 👀 at the smile in her eyes. One reason to cruise. Tom😀
  19. I did a short cruise so I could have the Elite status. I was going on a 19 day cruise & one of the perks was the free laundry. If I was in your shoes I would book a short cruise. Tom😀
  20. On my last year in December I brought 3 bags of See’s Candy in my carry on. One for the room steward & 2 for the wait staff. They were surprised & enjoyed the thought. Tom😀
  21. Be aware you may have a problem with only a copy of the CDC card if they want the original. I always have the original copies of everything. Tom😀
  22. I’ve had a different experience in arranging a meeting & I’ve done a lot of meetings on Princess before. I contact Princess with my name & booking number & tell them the date & time I want for our meeting. They reply with the location. Only once have I asked for a different location. I’ve never let them pick the date & time as I want the 1st sea day in the morning & they have always honored my request. I post on the thread for my cruise to contact me as a lot of my cruises their was no roll call. That way I have everyone’s contact information which I use to send a reminder plus I have a count of how many people. It’s a little work to keep a list but that’s my style. I’ve also left people a reminder flyer before on the ship & people told me that helped. If I’m organizing anything else like a independent excursion, for me, having a list helps. You could post all of the details on the thread for your cruise but you may never have a good count of people. I’m organizing a meeting on the Discovery Princess for the Love Boat cruise & I anticipate around 100 people. Having this number for me is especially helpful if they move us to another room. I’m well known with the booking department but don’t know if that helps. One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is when I’m first on the ship I ask for a microphone 🎤 which is a big help. Tom😀
  23. If I don’t have the package I tip the Head Waiter $20, Assistant Waiter $10 & stateroom steward $20. If I was on a longer cruise, 14 days or longer than I may would increase my tip. Any special service I would give something extra. I was on a B2B cruise in February on the Majestic & I had a small thermometer that was stuck on the outside of my balcony sliding door. I noticed that they had all of the doors btw the balconies opened & someone was hosing everything down. Later I noticed that the thermometer was missing. Luckily I had a photo of it & my steward was very helpful & the supervisor also came. It was found & I tipped the steward for all of his help. Tom😀
