  1. I am on the firenze. The CBS channel in the cabin carried the VP debate live so my bet is that it will have election results too. Enjoy your cruise.
  2. Grandma took her gummy bears. Dog found them and grandma got denied boarding and no refund. Bears vs dogs..dogs won.. game over. Sea hair..who.cares.
  3. Ensenada? I don't get off the ship. I have been on buses escorted to American border with police escorts when we had to disembark from carnival ship in ensensda. We are on firenze for a week in a few weeks. We were on the 2nd inaugural cruise. Enjoyed the ship. We cruise the Mexican riviera at least once a year. We will be on our 4th new years eve cruise this year. Enjoy your cruise. Be careful on those girls trip. The wives from put they could remove David's fig leaf.
  4. I saw a youtube where someone mixed diet coke and champagne. I have not tried it but they said it was good.
  5. Rum and diet coke or pepsi..God blessed the person who figured out you van make rum with zero carbs from sugar cane. Flavored rum has lots of carbs. Now it does stress the liver but I am not a doctor.
  6. Thank you carnival. Everything has a cost. Long gone are the days of 89 cent distilled water. Hopefully this will solve the availability issue.
  7. My wife and I have been on over 20 carnival cruises. It is who you cruise with that makes the cruise. We have been on rcl utopia and a couple of ncl ships. We had great times too. But the bottom line is cruising with friends and family. With carnival we can do both. I don't need to drink to have fun. But when do I fall asleep.
  8. Remember that most luggage is stowed under the bed. You do not want a lot of luggage and extra large bags that cannot fit.
  9. My wife would be looking for a bathroom on the wrong side of the wall
  10. Search the forums..there are older topics on cruising with chemo..e.g. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1982207&highlight=chemo I agree check with doctor and carnival before boarding. But I noticed the forums were positive with living and having fun. Good travel insurance is always good too. I wish you well on your life journey together. They also suggest good sunscreen because chemo can make one very sun sensitive.
  11. Our then 12 year old grandson love shaqs..ate there as often as my wife and his mother would let him.
  12. Our group all had problems last night signing in for our firenze cruise..may 2..it appeared to be a carnival problem..a few hours later it was resolved.
  13. I have cruised over 20 years as a diabetic type 2. I wear an nsulin pump. First, alcohol stresses the liver. However, i drink rum and diet coke. No carbs. Second, travel with insulin in a bag that can hold a freezer gel bag. I take 150 units a day. I try to regulate it as best i can. Heat and then cold weakens its effectiveness.the only problem is airlines and a melted freezer gel bag. TSA has taken them away. Finally sugar free and no sugar added is deceptive. They still have carbs. These desserts may lots of carbs. Carbs and fat give flavor. Enjoy the trip. My next cruise is the Icon. Lots of walking. And my wife and i will make great memories.
  14. My icon of the seas duck shirt.
  15. My personal rule is 100 a day. I do have some of it in smaller bills for airport and precruise hotel. But on the ship i bill break 100 as needed..my wife has her separate slot machine stash. Fortunatly we bring some home for the next cruise. i tip the cabin cleaners and their hlpers at the end of the cruise. I usually est in mdr and tip waiters snd servers. If i find a bar tender who remebers i drink diet coke or diet and rum, i tip nicely. The dog kennel is 50 a day. I wonder if i can bring my emotional support beagle with me? I am sure rover on the icon would like a play date.
  16. I am on panorama right now. They cut the cakes in front of you..great vaiety. The mdr has smaller portions but good. Choc melting cakes smaller and often not much melt. But i see lots of banana splits being served..not on menu. Later this year panorama will be in dry dock. To change production shows and restaurants sometimes take place during that time. The game shows like deal or no deal with play along are packed. I have never had a bad cruise in 20 cruises.
  17. We are on the new years eve sailing. The night before we are staying at the Queen Mary. I notice QM has not moved. I hope it does not have a propulsion problem.
  18. Funny this used to be cruise critic. Those not scheduled for may 2 appear to be cheer. Anyway Heald says he will be on both and this is a tacit admission of the screw up. We seldom get an inaugural cruise on west coast. I like putting bait on rod when fishing in the sea. However I do not like bait and switch.
  19. Freedom? Changed date of inaugural sailing in us?
  20. Leftovercake and extra party favors are not the same. Not going to pay 800 more for same plus 7 day costs. Funny most of ship is already sold out and it was just announced.
  21. My wife and i were excited to be on our first inaugural cruise but now it is the second. Will miss festivities and big wig corporate guests on the 2nd cruise. What was real reason the cruise was moved up? Now it is 7 day as oppose to our 5. No first time at port celebrations. Left over cake and party supplies. Thanks carnival for popping our inaugural balloon.
  22. Couple next husband could not eat butter and other things. They brought out a similar pate for him
  23. Will hurricane Lee affect your return to Miami? We leave on the celebration on Saturday. Flying from phoenix.
