Thanks also contacted my TA

I will send a text to my TA. Never happened before- but who knows with this TA. Thanks

Just a small area carved out of the Solarium dining room. Still noisy and people nearby having the buffet. We were very disappointed with the food and ambiance. So much better in 150 central park and cheaper!
-
Why would I not be eligible to bid? Not with a big box store? Did use a TA. Is it possible that since I am in a suite, no star class suites are available?
-
My cruise is in 31 days but when I try to go to move up- it states 30 days. However my cruise is booked and I doubt I will get any upgrade.

You can get "free" sparkling at the art auctions and sometimes jewelry store events- typically not the first day.

We would never bring heavy water or soda cans. Rather do without or set aside a budget for those items. The water on the cruise is safe to drink. My back and DH back aren't worth the savings.

Cruising vs All Inclusive Resort
Cruise a holic replied to LivLove2Cruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Depends. If you stay in inside cabins- and don't get extras a cruise could be cheaper. We LOVE the resorts in Playa Mujeres- not sure if we are allowed to say- but our family favorite is F---st resorts. Truly all inclusive. Airfare additional. But we do not live in florida so airfare always additional for us. -
Sofa beds in CLS on Harmony comfy?
Cruise a holic replied to avatar133's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Our 23 year old granddaughter accompanied us on our Harmony Cruise. We had a CLS. You will love it! The sofa bed was very large , seemed like a queen sized mattress. She was very comfortable. Had great pillows, you can request the type, and the bed was made into a couch in the morning and into a bed at night. She had tons of storage, her own full bathroom and TV. Although she was on her phone mostly! You are in for a real treat. The best location on the ship IMO. Enjoy your cruise. -
We no longer sail in AQ. Never loved the Persian Garden or the Perks. The location of Blu on the Edge class ships is poor. It is actually partially in a hallway and doesn't feel like a private dining room. If you dine early or late, you might get a decent table near the windows, rather then the hallway. However the Edge class ships and fabulous and beautiful. Many dining venues to try. Some free and some for an uncharge.

We annually sail on an Oasis class ship. However, we only sail in suites, typically a CLS and it makes a big difference. Never use the ship's free toiletries, always bring our own. We also dine often if SP restaurants. Find the extra service and benefits so worth it in a suite. It is like a ship within a ship. Makes for a wonderful experience. We also love the Celebrity Solstice and Edge class ships and sail at least once a year on those ships.

Cruising vs All Inclusive Resort
Cruise a holic replied to LivLove2Cruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
So true, not a fan of cats and have walked out of many cruise ship "entertainment" offerings! Some excellent AI's actually have decent entertainment and music in the evening. But the push is for daytime activities. -
I think you will really enjoy RC. We love it. IMO so much better then the princess line. The kids will have so many wonderful things to do, as will you. The entertainment is far superior. The food and service much better then princess. You cannot bring an extension cord for your Cpap machine but your cabin steward will get you one. The cord will be confiscated at the pier. A dinner package allows you to dine at the excellent specialty restaurants. Go on your reservation to see the restaurants and prices for specialty dining. We always book a few. Enjoy your cruise! Next time- Oasis class on Royal!

We sail in suites, but occasionally balcony cabins. I would miss the service of two times a day. I find it great when I leave in the cabin in the morning and come back, the bed is made and the room is clean. Like the bathroom to also be cleaned. When we leave for the evening, like to come back to a welcoming clean and neat cabin. The little towel animals were a treat as was fresh ice and a clean neat bathroom with fresh towels. Another reason we will mix up our vacations with AI resorts.

Cruising vs All Inclusive Resort
Cruise a holic replied to LivLove2Cruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We do both. Have found that wonderful all inclusive are more cost effective. We love the Resorts in playa Mujeres Cancun. The ships aren't really all inclusive. You pay additional for drinks, specialty restaurants, and ship tours etc. The AI resorts that I have gone to include airport transfers, drinks, tips, specialty restaurants. Only spa services and if you want extra tipping aren't included. Sometimes kids like the idea of a beach vacation with pool access. Drink package prices vary, can cost as much a $80 plus pp. per day. Plus when we cruise, we fly in the day before and the hotel rate has to be added to the cost of the cruise. Also, unless you are in suite, the cabin typically vs. the hotel room is much smaller. Like the variey. Love the entertainment on the cruise ships and visiting various ports. -
We were their last august, and will sail again this august on her. Not sure if they sing as you enter the buffet area. But you are directed to wash your hands.

Low Sugar or Sugar Free Smoothies?
Cruise a holic replied to Peachestravels's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Don't they have a smoothy bar in the spa waiting area? For a fee of course. I thought you could order the smoothy your way. -
My grandsons understand that sometimes one must compromise and adhere to the rules. Fortunately, one is studying at an IVY school to be a vet, and the other works in a field to save our environment. As their parents, they will be very successful professionals.

RoyalUP? (Bid for stateroom upgrade)

Also a great huge closet. -
I agree that often a review is posted by a person with an axe to grind. So many (most) people have a wonderful time and aren't interested in posting their opinion. You must try for yourself and form your own opinion. We have sailed on almost 60 cruises including all of the major lines and in our opinion, Celebrity, especially the edge and solstice class are great. The celebrity older ships also are really a good option. Sailed many royal ships and our favorite all around is the oasis class (so far). Carnival , NCL and Princess at the bottom of our lists, food, entertainment and ship on those not for us. NCL IMO only the Haven good- but if you leave it not good.

Hello, We really enjoy RC Oasis class ships. The entertainment and food IMO is great. MSC not the same. If you travel and you really care about Pizza, go to New York for the best pizza in the country. All around, we always enjoy RC. Another option for us is Celebrity. Not a fan of MSC.
