  1. on Apex last February we made a precruise reservation for Eden. On embarkation day we went to the specialty restaurant table that was set up next to guest relations and they reimbursed us the Captains Club 15% as OBC.
  2. Thanks, I didn’t know this. Are there other onboard perks associated with the Celebrity credit card?
  3. We received a refund of our OBC to our credit card.
  4. If you plan to use Uber be sure to have an account set up before using the app in BA. As soon as you arrive in BA use the app to search for a price for a pickup. I say this because there is a time lag the first time you use the app in Argentina as they do a security check for your account. This took up to 30 mins when we visited last Feb. Ubers can't go through the port gate for pickup, but you can easily walk out the port gate and arrange to have an Uber pick you up a block or 2 down the road. Ubers were unbelieveably cheap when we last visited. As for what to do on disembarkation day with a very late flight: on one trip we booked a ship tour that picked us up at the port, took us on a short tour of BA (most of the time was in Recolleta Cemetary), then to an Estancia for lunch + Gaucho entertainment with a drop off at the airport. On a different trip we booked a private tour that provided port pickup, tour of San Antonio de Areco, lunch at an Estancia, Gaucho show, back to BA for a quick Recoletta Cemetary tour and drop off at airport. The first one was large group and 2nd very small group. The cruiselines often have a Tigris excursion that includes port pickup and airport drop off.
  5. We were on the Summit in June 2023 and again in Aug 2023. On both cruises the hot tubs had water in them and all were being used by passengers. However, the water was never very hot and as mentioned by Patty1955 the buttons were either missing or disabled, so no bubbles. A crew member told my DH that passengers had complained the water was too hot.
  6. They made an appearance at least once in Al Baccio in Feb on Infinity.
  7. Thanks for your response. Yes I found that same summary via Google. I also found one that said 3 months and another that said 6 months from date cruise leaves Vancouver. Yet another said cruisers can take a bus from Seattle and enter Canada via an enhanced drivers license then just need a passport that hasn’t expired before boarding. This is why I was wondering if anyone had actual experience taking an Alaskan cruise fron Vancouver with less than 6 months before their passport expires.
  8. You can take the free shuttle to the free beach. If you want a quieter beach day consider taking a taxi to Radio Beach.
  9. Has anyone had experience with a less than 6 months expiration for a cruise out of Vancouver? I was researching a potential cruise for July but found conflicting information. My passport would have 4 months left on the date cruise leaves Vancouver
  10. Now I'll know for next time. I wondered why people were booking place holders and now I know. I appreciate your response!
  11. I appreciate your response. That's what I was wondering about.
  12. For those of you more experienced with these future cruise bookings, do you need to book within 30 days if you wish to transfer a cruise to a TA to access the TA perks or can you still transfer to a TA if the cruise is booked at any point prior to expiration of the certificate?
  13. Plus we shouldn't have to do this since it's supposed to be a 12 month time frame.
  14. It’s interesting that your next week cruise is also oversold in certain cabin levels. Several of the South America cruises last Jan/Feb also had oversold cabin assignments. I’m wondering if the cruiseline changed the booking algorithm due to all the last minute Covid cancellations, then didn’t adjust them when these cancellations slowed down. I realize this Japan situation is likely due to ship change and not Covid, but failure to recognize changes in booking patterns seems to be a constant.
  15. We’ve stayed in both type cabins. We’d definitely go with the family veranda. Much more room to spread out, especially with the teens.
  16. It looks like the man isn’t wearing socks.
  17. @mahdnc thanks for posting this! It’s a helpful tool for cruise planning that I hadn’t seen before. 👍
  18. Last June we cruised on the Summit to Bermuda with our 5yo grandson. He had a great time hunting for ducks, then finding new hiding places for them. It kept him busy the entire cruise.
  19. Thanks for the assistance! Until recently I was able to see the base rate in the pull down after choosing a cabin.
  20. This was our experience last time we called about a veranda cabin. The 60% discount is off the refundable website rate before any sale or other discounts. Then they add in taxes and port fees. You can get the 60% off either the Sail Only or the AI rate. We received a great deal when they first started offering the 60% off, but then base prices went higher with the 75% off 2nd person offer so not such a good deal any more. I just checked on a cruise to see what it would cost us with the 60% off rate, but the website is not showing the actual base rate, which makes it very difficult to figure out what the projected cost would be without calling into BBC to find out.
  21. We have a home printer, but my 2 adult children don't have one. Guess who is constantly being asked to print out things for them? Just last week: school permission slip, passport renewal form, and Amazon return slip. Plus when they stop by to pick up said print out, we get to feed them dinner.
  22. Interesting, my dumb guess is that they decided to change the ship, but neglected to adjust the capacity in the booking system.
  23. Butter? We haven’t had any issue getting butter on any of our cruises over the past year.
