  1. Yes, that toggle switch on the bottom front of the TV is not obvious, but I was able to find it every time on other Princess ships and successfully did my HDMI connection. Currently, I am on Discovery, and that toggle switch is definitely not there!
  2. I am on Discovery right now, the last day of the 7 day cruise. I will stay on for the next 2 cruises (11/5-11/14). So far, the internet is okay, not super fast, but acceptable. I asked Passenger Service, and was told this cruise has about 3400 passengers. Also around 3400 passengers for the 11/5-11/10 cruise. I will wait until 11/9 to ask for the 11/10-11/14 cruise. I was told there will only be 149 passengers on this cruise that will be staying for the next cruise (11/5-11/10). So many people everywhere. Almost impossible to find tables in the morning for buffet breakfast. Even without reservations, never waited more than 5 minutes for a table for 2 people for lunch or dinner at the dining rooms.
  3. I am on Discovery right now. Today is the last day of the first cruise of my 3 b2b2b cruises. As suggested by CC posts, I called Room Service to let them know what items I want to exchange for my mini bar for my 2nd cruise. I read on CC posts that I can exchange for 8 bottles of 1.5 L water. I was just told by RS, the 1.5 L water is only for Club class cabins, I can only exchange for 20 bottles of the .5 L water. So, the Discovery mini-bar exchange option is not the same as what I read on other CC posts. 1. When booked solo, the mini-bar exchange will only get me 1 coffee package, not 2 as other CC posts stated. 2. Entire bar swap for water can only get 20 bottles of .5 L water, not 8 bottles of 1.5 L as other posts stated.
  4. I was not able to find the toggle switch on the Discovery TV. On other Princess ships that I sailed in the past, I had no problem finding that switch.
  5. I am on Discovery right now and was not successful using the HDMI. The navigation console at the middle bottom of the TV has been modified to only allow power on or off only. I had no problem in the past to use HDMI on other Royal class ships. I will be on the Discovery for another 10 days. So if anybody figures out a solution, please post. Thank you.
  6. In the past, my friend and I shared a cabin (both Elite). One Mini bar setup was always already in the cabin when we arrived, and I always called to switch to coffee package, and each of us was given a package. Current booking, I booked solo. Before I started my cruise, posts in CC told me if I exchange my mini-bar, I will get 2 packages of 15 coffee. I embarked Discovery Princess yesterday. Same contents of mini-bar set up was in my cabin. I called to exchange to coffee package, and was expecting two 15 coffee package. This morning I went to get my coffee, and I was told I will only get one 15 coffee package. I checked with Guest Service and Int'l cafe manager, and was told by both that one mini bar setup will only get one package if only 1 person in the cabin. Interestingly, when 2 of us, there were only 20 items, and can get two packages. Now by myself, still 20 items, but only 1 package.
  7. Look good. Can't wait to try it next April. Thanks.
  8. Majestic Noodle Bar only serves Ramen noodles or other noodles also? Soup noodles or pan-fried noodles? Made to order per our selection of items with our noodles? TIA
  9. We will be on the 10/29 sailing. The next time you go to Guest Service, if you don't mind, please kindly ask how many total passengers and how many Elite members will be on the 10/29 sailing. TIA!!
  10. After they gave you the refund, did they take away your 4-device plan for the rest of the cruise? In April, I did a b2b on Regal. I bought the 4-device plans for my Transatlantic from Ft. Lauderdale to Barcelona (14 days) and RT Barcelona (14 day. The internet was terrible. For the 1st 10 days, there was no internet at all, got a little bit better on day 11-14. For the 2nd 14 days, 50%+ of the time, there was no internet. Didn't have to complain, they automatically refund everyone who bought the packages and still allowed the usage (although it was almost useless).
  11. We will be on the 10/29 sailing. The next time you go to Guest Service, if you don't mind, please kindly ask how many total passengers and how many Elite members will be on the 10/29 sailing. TIA!!
  12. Did they refund you with credit back to your credit card you used to pay? Or credit your onboard account with "refundable" credit or "non-refundable" OBC? My 3 b2b2b cruises starts this Saturday, and I bought 4-device internet for all 16 days. From all the bad reviews I read so far, I don't know if I should cancel my purchases and get refund back to my credit card before my cruises start or leave it alone and see how it goes. I do prefer to have internet service but if it is bad and I get "non-refundable" OBC, then I am stuck using the OBC during my cruise. I already have a lot of "non-refundable" OBC I need to use. Thank you.
  13. Good noodles at the Majestic's Noodle Bar? We will sail on her in a few months.
  14. Thank you for the valuable information!!
  15. The taxi I get in town to go back to the port, can I pay using my U.S. credit card? Or better to pay the driver with cash? Thanks.
  16. Can I use my U.S. credit card (Capital One has no foreign transaction fees) at Walmart? Is there a minimum amount of purchase for credit card usage at Walmart or at other stores? If can't pay with credit card, can I pay with USD? I am trying to decide how much pesos I should get at the ATM at my first port, Mazatlan. PV is my 2nd stop. Thank you.
  17. Thank you for the information and suggestion. The other post said " we took a taxi shuttle ($5.00 pp) they were lined up just outside the new PV terminal...lot's of cruisers doing this as the shuttles hold about 8 people. ", so I thought the shuttle fill up with 8 people before they leave the port, and drop all 8 people at a certain place. Why was why I asked where the shuttle drops the people off.
  18. We will be in PV at a cruise stop there in about 10 days. Where will the port taxi shuttle drops us off? There will be 2 of us going, so we pay the taxi shuttle $10 USD cash or better to pay in pesos (we plan to get some pesos in Mazatlan, our 1st cruise stop)? On the way back to the port, can easily just flag down a taxi? Do we need to negotiate the price before getting on the taxi or it is set at $10 USD (2 of us) or by meter? We want to stop by Walmart before getting back to the ship, okay to just tell the driver "Walmart by the cruise port" and the driver will know? Thank you.
